I used to post game in content, but just like you said it barely got any traction. Did my thing on twitch for a while that was OK but to be honest, I am not an over-the-top person. I’m genuine and I can be entertaining, but I’m not about to jump on top of my couch and screaming eel to the top of my lungs just to keep people watching my videos. If we got to do all of that, then it ain’t working in my opinion. Being someone that you’re not, it’s only gonna make you miserable in a long haul with content creation. We may not get a lot of viewers by being ourselves, but we will get the right viewers as time goes on who will accept us for us.

Black content creator for horror gaming here! Completely feel this, when I am recording I feel like I am boring at times and I feel that I am not exemplifying an over the top character to grab views. But I keep telling myself that I will find genuine people to thoroughly watch my content. It’s hard because when you dream big and wish to have that community that you don’t have yet, it can be discouraging. But I can’t stop because dreams won’t happen without work.

I completely agree with this. I try to just be myself on my KZbin channel sometimes I have a lot of energy on stream and other time I barely talk and just vibe out with the people in my chat. It’s all about balance I let the day decide how I’m feeling. Also when you are good at the games you play you will eventually get great clips that you can post.

Solid video. I think that a lot of people can relate to this. It sucks that we live in a day and age where you need to oversell your content and crank up the autism to keep viewers engaged. I personally couldn't do that, so my energy levels are pretty average and my growth has been subpar. It is what it is though. Idk about streaming but for youtube it's all about titles, thumbnails and TIMING. If a big game gets revealed or the gameplay gets a trailer and it has other games in a franchise, putting a video as soon as a trailer comes out gives a better chance for your gaming vids to do good. Literally witnessed a couple of people blow up from Elden Ring on youtube and have successful channels. I thought that it is impossible in the beginning of the year until it started to work.

I think when it comes to creativity and some of the success I've seen is kind of like this video here - pose a question that is exciting or trending and answer it OR provide a solution to a problem which in straight up gaming videos doesn't do much but mix the other stuff in from a gaming perspective along with clicks and you and start building an audience that actually messes with you the person.

I think that people need to also realize that the type of people they want to see hype all the time are probably kids or younger adults. I’m 39. I don’t wanna see someone do backflips screaming, and yelling. I’m more of a laid-back chilled type of guy. So again us being ourselves will level out the type of audience that we generate. You talking fax, i think streaming in general is really for people who know how to clip farm, i mean you dont HAVE to do that to become a successful streamer because theres guys like shroud etc who are boring personality wise but the reason they have so much views is because of skill. So when it comes to streaming you either have to be REALLY good at whatever your doing on stream or have a REALLY enthusiastic personality. With youtube its better because Vod, you can pretty much do whatever and people will go back and watch the vod. kind of like Moist Critical

Watching "over the top" streamers and clips made me realize that I either start acting like that or quit streaming. I chose the latter. No one wants to watch "normal" streamers anymore but instead they want that you bring the President on stream otherwise you are not worth watching.

I also have been posting shorts as well. Since this game just came out I knew it would be tough getting spotlight but seeing one of my videos is already getting traction it makes me keep going. I’d much prefer or encourage a slow growth so that a person has a genuine audience that cares, and most of all- to have fun. STREAM 2025, I wanna start too. You got to have a good personality with a little bit of luck. I think Jerma, Vinesauce team, and Penguinz0 are the best examples. These are all variety streamers that never stuck to a single game. They have been grinding out content for so long too. Especially Vinny from Vinesauce. His first stream was in 2010 and his audience and community still gets bigger every year. The environment is totally different though nowadays Twitch and TikTok be looking like Interdimensional Cable from Rick and Morty.
