Hi. I changed my suspension compressor of my 2010 GL550. Unfortunately there was a moment I started the engine without taken out the electric relay and the fuse. The engine never run right again. The engine shut off as soon as it start. I diagnosed it with OBDII and gave me (error code 6001). I changed the Alternator and belt.

I am still having same problem engine start shutting off. My 2nd diagnosis gave my mechanic (error code P2289) Can you please advise what might be the problem. My mechanic said the problem is (Cam Signal circuit 15) He told me I have to tow it to MB dealership for compressor To reprogramming. Please I'm waiting for your response. Thanks in advance.

Your car likely has a fuel cutoff switch (inertia switch) that can trip even in a minor collision. The purpose of this safety switch is to stop the flow of fuel in case the fuel line is damaged in the accident. All that is needed is to reset the switch by pushing a reset button. The big problem is finding that inertia switch to reset it. I’m here for that same reason.

My 02 ml320 busted a brake line. It sat for 3 weeks. We got the brake line replaced and it wouldn't start. It threw a "start error" I undid the positive post for a few days to reset the computer. It then would start and die like in theft mode. I noticed my red led light that shows the ecu is reading the key was not blinking. So I went to a Mercedes dealership to order a new key. They said they didn't make the flip style any more and it was like a valet key. No chip is visual. Tried it...still get a start error. I had it hooked up to 3 scan tools...only thing it showed was something with the transmission. I figured maybe where I was baking out of my driveway not fast at all...that's when the brake line busted and it scared me so I threw it in park. I left it running and went and got my bf and he drove it back down the driveway and that's where its sat since August. I should have told you all that when I told you in the beginning about the brake line busting. Can you please help me out!? I'm hoping I don't have to but a new computer, ecu and immobilizer along with the matching key.

It would be much easier to buy the 150$ icarsoft scanner and it just tells you exactly what the problem is, it can scan most of the modules on board, not to mention you can reset a few codes yourself, well worth the investment for anyone with a used mercedes.

Last night i went to start my 2005 Mercedez ML350 , and when i turned the key to turn the engine, I had a complete loss of power. Its as if the battery was not there. I thought maybe the battery was dead, so i went to recharge it. When i put on the positive cable, all power was restored. I went to start the car, and it came on. So i removed the charger, and let it run. after letting it run for two minutes, it would make a flicker sound as if it was going to shut off. I turned off, and tried to turn on the car, again, all power would be lost. This morning as i was getting ready to remove the battery, I removed the positive cable for about two minutes while i was on the phone. Then i thought, maybe the computer was not letting me start the car due to a self anti theft system. I put the plus cable back on with no charger. Alas! The car started right up. I turn the car on and off several times and now i have no problem. The computer must have reset. I still plan to go get the battery, and alternator checked out at auto zone. I hope this helps someone.

I have a Mercedes-Benz Vito 115 CDI 2005 model engine code 646. I have to turn the ignition on and off for about 6 times before it will start. I replaced the glow plugs, replaced the fuel pressure regulator and the diesel pump. There are times it will start first time and times where I have to turn ignition on and off for about 6 times as mentioned above. It does not matter whether its hot or cold.

Good day. I got a B200Turbo 2007 with 240000km on. I have tried several things. The car starts immediately then just stall again. The engine light will flash and it will stall and then try automatically to adjust it self and then just stall. The engine light don't stay on. The funny thing is when you tried it several times and the radiator fan comes on at high speed the car will start and idle perfectly. No problems while driving even at high speed like 180km and stop and go in traffic. It gets even worst when the car is hot and you switch it off and leave it for a couple of minutes when you want to start it again it starts immediately and stall again. I have cleaned the throttle body, I changed the coolant temperature sensor I have changed the fuel pump relay and checked all fuses. I have also changed the spark plugs they are expensive and you basically have to strip everything, a hell of a mission. The temperature gauge stays around the middle on 80 so that seems right. Cold start is 99% ok but when you crank it it gives a bit of a hard rev and the stabilize there after. I get a P0605 error code. Any idea what else it can be?

Hello and thanks for making this channel. I have 08 C350 Sport 3.5 V6. Left it running yesterday to run in the house, came out car was not running. It will turn but not start. Fuses are good, replaced fuel pump and crankshaft sensor. Gives me fault codes: U0109, P0628, P0336, P0607, P0461. I've looked them up but at this point I don't know what to do next. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks for this engine start video. Unfortunately this video didn't speak of my problem with my 2010 slk 300. Most of the time my start will work with no problem. Only at times my key not start my engine but would activate all dash lights indicating that it will start but nothing happens to engine not turning over. At first I thought it could be the battery since the age was there so I replaced the battery. Couple weeks later the car still had the issue so I replaced the start relay thinking it could be faulty relay. This did not fix my issue. Because it only does this once in while I thought I should wait till it fails completely. I have tried different keys thinking it could be one of the keys. It's been two to three year issue now. If any suggestions. I will appreciate any of your comments.

Sounds like electrical issue.. can be CAN communication, ignition switch or SAM

I have a 2008 CL 63 AMG. I am having a starting issue that I hope you can point me in the correct direction. I have replaced the starter battery this weekend, and it still will not start. when I turn the key it will attempt to turn over but doesn't. I have 12.70 volts at both batteries, the charging system is doing its job at 13.7 to 14 volts. If I jump start the car it will start. All my connections look clean. I have a icarsoft MB2 scanner and it tells me "low starter/ battery voltage."

So I am extremely impressed with your videos and knowledge I have v bee to so many mechanics fir my 2012 mercedes s550 and they do not see. Thanks for the video. I am having an issue with my 2005 e500. When I remove my key from the ignition the whole car dies and when I put the key back in the ignition the key won’t even turn and it becomes locked. To even unlock the doors I have to boost the car and then it turns on. Do you think that Is that a problem with the ignition. I tested the battery and the battery and alternator and starter and giving good readings.

Hi have a w204 c320 v6 cdi car was standing 4-6 months in garage no battery got battery connected it key on lights on no cranking just a thud sound. Next day check starter brush box dead replaced it wors on the bench with jumper replaced car makes no sound no cranking and no starting? Will check fuses tomorrow and starter relay clicks but will replace just in case any othe suggestions oh yes we have a launch diagnostics scanner no major issues just ECM error right map sensor will also replace that tomorrow ... i have a feeling its gonna vecome a headache eventually

David have a 2003 G55 with the weirdest gremlin ever. After an engine wash the car won't crank, it just clicks after I go to crank it in the ignition key position, however everything else is fine, all lights come on fine, battery is new etc. We replaced the starter, same thing. Replaced the front SAM, same thing. Just a click. However me and my mechanic friend managed to get the car cranking and to start by applying direct juice to the starter cable after disconnecting it from the front junction box by the brake booster and opening the ignition key to the cranking position at the same time. Also if direct juice is applied with the probe at the starter through the front SAM and turn the ignition at the same time it will start. Once on, the car drives and behaves perfectly but it won't start again if I turn it off, just a click again after I go back to turn it on. We are baffled at this point. I don't want to take it to the dealer as they have the worst rep and don't trust any Indie shops around here either, only my friend's. Any thoughts?

It can be many things… front right fuse box.. CAN communication… security lock.. did you try to read the codes with Mercedes Diag

@@MercedesBenzTechs Yes, Star diag shows no faults/codes. Front right fuse box (SAM) was replaced for a new one and a other fuses have been checked one by one including the sealed fuse box in the battery box.We ust don't now where else to check.

You went over quite a few things but not this. 1998 SLK 230. Starts for a second or two and quits. No fault codes. Fuel pressure at 58 psi. Car runs with gas rag in intake. Injectors not getting grounded to inject fuel. No start error problem on the dash. I'm leaning towards the left door latch. What do you think would cause this?

I have a2003 230SLK and it won't start. The key works, all the warning lights come on but stay on and the engine cranks but won't fire. The warning lights should go off after a few seconds but they don't. The only thing I've done is turn the car around as its on a slight slope. I don't think this makes a difference but it might.

Thanks David for the video. I was just wondering, I have a mb ml350 2004 and every time I start it..it always has a false start then I have to wait and start it again and it starts right up. If I stop for maybe 10 mins it doesn't have the false start. But for maybe over 30mins stops it will do that. Do you think it might be my key ignition sensor (key transponder immobilizer) or maybe the gas pump is not pulling enough gas to help it start on the 1st try? Thanks!

Great Video!!!However, you didn’t explain what happened after testing if the vehicle still does not do anything. I have a 1997 SL500 sport and it does nothing when you turn the key. Light and radio come on but no crank. I tested the battery which was good. I checked all the fuses in the truck and under the hood. Swapped relays in fuse box as well, no avail. Is there anything else that I may be able to do prior to sending to a repair shop?

You had a chance and missed out on it last time. So heres another chance. Mercedes w204 c220 customer got me round to change front sam unit. I did and using Xentry tried to program new one. The screen with adaptions was not there though. Instead it says either no power or the unit not intended for that car. The fuse box is sending power through it though. The ECM is on and live data showing. Customer said car indicators and lights doing weird stuff. That in my view is not the front sam but the back. Anyway, scanning both Sams they are not on. So I think rear was the faulty and the front not. Only also read if changing front sam up to 2010 the sam needs a jumper cable on it. Over to you. What do you know mate?

Great video. Thanks for sharing. Here is what we have. Mercedes w203 c220. Chain replacement and we did a compression test, all good. We decided to close up the head cover and try it out before completing finalizing. The car stopped cranking, and many issues with Canbus communication issues ecu,tcu, and so on. The main fuse box was replaced in the same situation. All fuses are good, and the battery is good. Gear shift no moving from parking to neutral and not indicated on the dash. The dashboard comes live at position 2 but no crank. Tried replacing and the gear shift, no result. Any ideas?

Hi David thank you for the valuable information I have a Mercedes 2002 C240 The car just died on the freeway a mechanic told me my fuel pump was out first he said it was the right side then the left side I replaced both however now my car doesn't crank over only with the help of starter fluid I did purge the the fuel pumps a few times before I tried starting it . I also replaced fuel filter .mechanic also checked fuel strength and there is fuel coming out . The battery had also died after trying to jump start car. It still just want to crank over and run .what can you advise

Anyone know why 2006 E-350 won't start? One rear tire ripped while driving. Went straight to get 2 new rear tires. Car drove for 10 miles. ESP light came on & Batteries are good. Fuses are good. Check your front SAM, make sure it’s always clean under the windshield or you’ll get water inside the car

I started it by jumping the starter relay with a wire, but put a non mercedes relay in its place attempting to fix it but got some sparks, now I can't jump it with a wire anymore and it still doesn't start... I get an error message, " take key from ignition" what would you advice my next move to be?

great information & your channel. My SLK320/2003 alarm went on over night, next day the car did try to start but didn't crank and after that did not start and got "start error". tried it multiple time, totaly dead. lights works good, battery check OK at the shop, my Key won't lock or unlock. it's funny after disconnecting the battery and reconnecting, once in a while does try to start but it shut-off quickly. Any help is appreciated

A170 starting issues for months now, new starter didn't help. After cleaning all points, easier to start but now SRS and ABS errors plus on km screen, Triangle 🔺️ and LIM and Brake error s light up. At odd moments car won't start, then after eg 40 mins it starts Has this model been recalled

Good Evening, I've got a 2007 S550 and the lights were left on and now the key won't even turn in the ignition. (Completely locked no turning to position #2) Starter battery is good, I can't get to the aux battery in the trunk because I have no power and the small metal key isn't cut. 2011 E350 Convertible with 80K miles. Random issue with starting car. Turn key FOB and nothing happens - no crank. Take the FOB out and reinstall and it starts. I changed both FOB batteries and the main battery under the hood. Last weekend I tried to start it several times and nothing. Opened the hood and checked battery voltage between the external + blade and the ground lug. 12.3 to 12.4 V. Went back in and turned the FOB - started right up. Any thoughts?

Bad fuel, bad spark plug, starter is going bad, battery is weak MAF meter, intake air leak, camshaft position sensor, worn out engine(low compression) those are just few.

I have B200 ,W246,2013 y.Problem is : in last few days it happens several times that after turning the key on 3 position (for starting) lights on dashboard are ok,but nothing happens.Tryied several times-nothing (gearshift lever is on neutral position/it is not automatic).For starting it is necessary to push the gear pedal since it is a condition for starting(it have start -stop system).After releasing and pushing again the pedal,and normally turning the key every time the engine starts.Is the problem may be in switcher on gear pedal or what else can it be ?

Hi MBT W211 2002 have vibration from the rear left , my via steering wheel. All wheels have been balanced, changed a droplink , changed centre prob shaft bridge. Vibration occurs at 40 to 65 mph. Also more apparent on different road surfaces. Thanks TC

T C L start with basics, balance wheels first, make sure tires and rims are good, rotate wheels and see if vibration travels to other side, check CV axles, check rear differential, make sure wheels are tight on hubs. I think that should get you started

A red light came on for me while driving. After that, electronics started failing. First command switched off, then, EBS, ESP, seat belt warning lights and power steering stopped working. Sounds like water damage to electronics or can communication issues.. check for water in SAM or under seats.

i have a 2010 mb glk 350 4matic . A security light appear in the console showing a caution message change oil in red. So, I parking the car and the next day , the car didn't turn on. When I put the key in the and turn it to the start nothing is showing in the console, only said remove the start key. Also the windows are not working , but other components works ok. The battery is new. the fuses and relays check one by one are all good. Please I need help to fix that car. Thank you.

Sounds like few different issues, is your number one check the oil level correct if necessary, issue number two you may have a bad ignition switch steering lock, It may also be bad signal acquisition and actuation module

I need help have a problem with my mercedes c180 sport coupe 2007.. It's not cranking, I've checked all the fuses and relays and all seems fine, the battery is only a few months old.. ive been advised that the problem is starter motor. The car won't jump start from booster park but will push start... The whole problem started wen I left the lights on and drained the battery, I jump started it with leads and took it for a 40 min drive, I turned it off then started it again with the key., and it started fine. So I turned it off again.. I went into the shops came out 15 mins later, I went to start it and nothing happened, didn't start .. so I push started it, drove it home and left it running for 30 mins then turned it off. And it hasn't started with the key or with jump leads since.. And wen I push started it the next day I've had a notification message on dashboard, abs and srs unavailable pls see owners manual.. And I have an abs Amber light come up on dashboard..

I bought a 2004 ML350. Previous owner gave me the factory key with fob, and a hardware store copy with no fob. Why? He said the factory key turns the engine and it starts for 1 second, the dies. The hardware store key starts the car fine. What do you think is the cause?

First check the fuse box right next to the battery, it usually goes bad when you short the electrical, second, the fuse box in the trunk, behind the rear passenger seat
