Authorities have temporarily raised the security level at a NATO air base in western Germany, citing a potential threat.
The second-highest alert level was in effect from late Thursday until Friday afternoon before being reduced to its previous elevated level. The air base houses aircraft carrying long-range surveillance systems.

Russia wastes too many resources on war and antagonizing its surrounding neighbors. If they would’ve invested this much valuable capital in encouraging mutually beneficial transactions with NATO countries, it could have been immensely richer and its people would have had a greater quality of life. Perhaps they could’ve seen greater prosperity than the Soviet Union, which they try so hard to replicate. Truly a sad waste of human potential.

I live close to that base. It's not really the base itself I think but the large weapon storage between the base and the Hendrik Uitbreiding old closed coal mine And yes we have become big babies around security due to a long period of peace time and relative stable societies. I don't think we need to fences off everything because it can also be kids. I always went everywhere and inside as a kid just because I could. Not to cause harm. These are different times though and yes terrorism is a thing but having curious kids which is ok is something we must not become to be too afraid of and let them explore the world around them In case of Russia we must stop being too damn soft. Just look at Kursk. Moscow even pretends it's not a problem. We could take back Kaliningrad if we wanted to. Yes they would cry but damn Russia is the one keeping it militarily occupied for decades ffs and it's a hornets nest in the middle of northern Europe to terrorize us. When they continue sabotage we take Kaliningrad back and end Russian visa. Simple as that.
