Why A Shoulder Holster

Working on the ranch/farm, a shoulder rig, vertical carry, was more accommodating for all the 'busy work' (active movement, lifting, throwing, etc) and keeping the firearm out of the way, well secured, and still very manageable, and even good for quick concealment when desired. I don't prefer vertical carry in general, but in that very physically active work environment it seems what most of us landed on. {I don't know how much of that influence may have been who was training me back then, but for such environments it may be worth checking out.)

They’re also super comfortable. I like to wear them on long road trips or sometimes in the winter, when I’m wearing heavy clothing. Last time I wore one was under my t-shirt at the beach, because I was wearing swim trunks and couldn’t wear a belt. It might have printed a little, but not anything anyone would notice, especially given the context.

When you're wearing overalls doing farm / garden work they come in handy too because overalls come up too high for any belt holsters to be used and drop leg holsters usually get banged around too much while working.

Minimal all white single arm shoulder holsters are a good option for a businessman or woman to carry a small firearm discreetly. Just wear it under your dress shirt or blouse with an under shirt and leave a botton undone under your tie or use shirts with snaps so you can reach in and draw it. It's an excellent way to carry a j-frame or, my preferred option, something lika a Ruger LCP Max. It's not the end all be all but it's a great way to carry something with almost zero chance of anyone every noticing in a formal or business setting.

I think shoulder holsters are best for roller coasters and when wearing pajama pants. Those Galco shoulder rigs are the best made in my opinion.

You know your history Brian. NBC switched Crocket to a S&W .45 after Bren went out of business. I have the black Miami Classic. Great for driving and if you’re in a wheelchair or just because I like it. We have a Bill of Rights, not a bill of needs. Plus, it’s comfortable and I have spare mags to balance it out too! I'm considering a shoulder holster for myself as my perm may gunhand that be in my right hand the associated shoulder has been busted up many times. So it's extremely painful at times drawing my weapon from inside the waistband at 3:30. I refuse to go appendix carry so this would be my next best logical option in my mind

I really hope someone brings back the Bren Ten. I have one of the the Miami Classic rigs and also the New York Undercover. I use the New York Undercover with a Glock 26 during cooler weather when I'm walking. Easily carries and conceals a Glock 26/27 and spare mag and the price is reasonable for an occasional carry holster. And it will carry the larger 17,19, 22, 23 and a spare magazine but the slide with stick out and its not as concealable.

the shoulder holster is the best way to carry for me. It works really no one ever sees my gun. I wear it under my button down shirt and its never exposed unless i choose to.

Shoulder Rig: better for driving, using a toilet, putting all yer gear on one device, (Light, spare mags, pistol).. more difficult for a person behind you to grab yer pistol... and better for those with lower back pain exacerbated by a tight belt... Galco makes a little light pouch to hang on the straps...

Another often overlooked benefit is if ur out and about and you end up needing to use a public toilet. All the important stuff is tucked up on ur torso.....

I just remembered how to use these. First you have to shoot like Tom cruise in that movie where he fires from the hip. Then, the reload, you stick the loaded gun in your armpit, and reload the other like normal, do this 2x if they're both empty. That's that. Akimbo tek. Put a flashlight on them, and a coffee filter over that, with a hole in the middle, for a projector sight

Another situation is women because of their having to sit to use the bathroom. You can do your business without having to worry about wear to set your gun......or worst case, set it down on the to dispenser, do your business, and forget to grab you weapon as you leave the stall ( it has happened)

As far as appendix in a vehicle...i tuck my shirt behind the holster and then put on seatbelt. No interference. I do like the comfort of a shoulder rig.

A shoulder holster is for a gentleman such as myself who wears a suite jacket to work. Your arguments are not very good in here sir, you just want to wear the shoulder holster. No shoulder holster for you!!! (unless you have a suite jacket over top of it like a gentleman).
