As a test, I deposited ~300 BAT (~$80) in a liquidity pool on Aave about a week ago... at the time, the advertised return was over 25%. (I didn’t expect it to remain that high.) As of last night, the rate had fallen to 0.08%. When I attempted to withdraw the tokens, the miner fee was quoted as $57! Simply crazy.

Check out bZx (BZRX). They were number one before the exploit in Feb. Due to relaunch end of Aug. Better tokenomics than LEND. TVL will flow from Aave to bZx. BZRX will pump hard.

Hi. Can you cover Aelf? Their mainnet launches in 3 days. They are always at the top of the list in GitHub commits but still don't get much recognition. I think they'll be a decent player in 2021. They have a 50 mil cap now though used to be close to 500 mil in 2018.

Great video. Can someone explain to me how a loan can be overcollateralized though? I thought that was the point of a loan -- you don't have enough money to, say, buy a house so you get a loan. If you have to collateralize as much (or more) than you're borrowing, why not just use the collateral instead?

Great video guy! I always knew aave is an excellent project but never knew it’s ingenuity before! I have a general defi question though.. how are providing liquidity and lending money to protocols different from the perspective of the provider!? In both cases I just supply tokens and earn interest isn’t it? The end purpose might be different as one is for those who wish to borrow money and other is for those who wish to exchange. But from my point of view does it make any difference?

The problem will be to prove that DeFi projects are sustainable. A quick pump and dump looks nice on paper but it´s detrimental in the long run. Aave, Elrond, Comp and co will need to prove their usablity

is Defi not going to create a bubble which will then burst as soon as crypto market looses 40% - which is common right? The lack of control around the collateral seems dangerous as it is possible to borrow in circle by just buying more crypto with the loan taken. The rate of 15% for the borrower indicates that they are ready to pay a huge premium in the belief that the return on the crypto bought with that money will exceed those 15%. It seems that at some point this will not be sustainable no?
