Keep in mind that he witnessed the Clone Wars, Order 66, the Rise of the Empire, the expansion of the Rebel Alliance, the Fall of Vader and Palpatine, the Creation of the New Republic, Thrawn's campaigns, the formation of the New Jedi Order, the End of the Civil War, the Yuuzhan Vong Wars, the formation of the Galactic Alliance, the Killik Invasion orchestrated by Raynar Thul and the beginning of the Second Civil War, dying at the age of 90 and only because Tahiri Veila killed him. What a life...

I find this really funny, that Palleaon didn't make a mention about that Ahsoka's outfit might be too revealing for a girl her age (If she's 14), but instead his reasoning was that simply too much flesh was exposed in general, distraction, a hazard for chemicals and other toxic substances, or weapon discharge, basically to minimize distractions for his crew and ensure she had proper skin covering. Now I can just imagine the same for other female Jedi who dressed a bit sexy like Aayla Secura if they came onto his ship.🤣🤣🤣🤣

I mean, he’s not entirely wrong on basically everything. Giving high ranking positions to literal children just because they have special powers is basically a mutiny waiting to happen. And realistically speaking, shrapnel would be a huge problem for people like Jedi because there would be too much of it to dodge at a time. So it would be in their best interest to wear at least some armor like what Kenobi did. Edit: To all the people who feel the need to argue that Jedi don’t need armor or that it hinders mobility, I don’t think wearing full cloaks or draping waist capes is good for acrobatics either.

*Fun fact:* The novel "No Prisoners", which cannot be considered Canon within the Legends continuity because TCW has too many contradictions with the Old Lore, also includes other characters exclusively from Legends interacting with those from TCW. For example, Ahsoka and Rex are accompanied on the mission by a Jedi named Callista Ming, who would fall in love with Luke decades later, forming with him a stable relationship after passing her consciousness to the deceased body of a Jedi student. She would then be killed by Abeloth, thus becoming the Entity's vessel

@@DeagleGamesTV In space and with the tech SW has that helmet and suit can carry gear (or have it built in), employ magnetic devices to keep you from flying into space in decompressions (Hand and foot) and in place of a helmet a hood made of the the material of a space suit might be better than helmet..but same idea. Even a helmet would give you a hud that will help you do maintenance. A picture is worth a thousand words. An engineer trying to explain a bypass is slower than one transmitting an image of what he is thinking is much faster.

The more I learn about and see Pellaeon and Thrawn alike,I see them as a lot more interesting than the usual black and white characters in Star Wars.They are imperials, but Imperials I can respect as soldiers, nuanced and interesting characters with more complex morals. Palleon is actually pretty much a classical British military officer you'd find in WWII and in these books who I'd find respectable. I like his take on that he was loyal to the Navy, as opposed to believing in the Empire in it's totality. I like this intro to him, he's pragmatic, teaching respect to a child, although I found it odd her attire was this for a teenager.

They probably got her the *smallest* uniform they had, but it'd still be too big given that the usual minimum age for military recruitment is 18. Pellaeon is also absolutely correct; simple skin hazards (whether on a ship or on a planet) would be a serious problem for Ahsoka in her usual outfit. Meanwhile, clothes being a little baggy is not ideal but something that can be adapted to by someone with actual discipline. All of which which lampshades the issue of having a 14-year-old girl with zero military training, as a part of the military.

I just got the book and listened to that part of the story and it’s actually not as bad as he describes it to be. Pellaeon is still very strict towards Ahsoka but at the same time he referred to her as “my dear” a lot. He was pretty fair with his statements, but hey we all know how during TCW Ahsoka always loved to dress attractive. Her first outfit would have anyone looking at her 😂 she was just as attractive as Aayla Secura at that time, if only Pellaeon met her on his ship.

@Eric Olsen they haven't shown they've matured faster. They can act more mature, but deep down, they still think like kids. Their training just ensures they are able to adapt and process the horrors of war better than normal kids would while also following a basic chain of command without critical thought.

Alexander the Great wore adopted Persian clothing..maybe to help him fit in and influence his new peoples, but it didn't go down well back home. But if apply this reasoning here it seems to support Pellaeon's position? On the other hand, if you look at Joseph Campbell's discussions on mythology and the hero (influential in Star Wars!) then clothing could be a symbol, a stage on the hero's journey but Ahsoka didn't want to take that step.. she reminds a bit of Luke when he seems unsure about going into the cave on Dagobah.. she seems to show some immaturity by not readily taking on the change?

Take medieval plate armor, for example: if you look at videos of people demonstrating the range of motion, you'll see that they can't move as freely as they could unarmored (for instance, they can't raise their arms up nearly as high). I get that there has often been a misconception in the past that you can hardly move in armor, but it's equally a misconception (just a newer one) that armor doesn't affect mobility at all.

It was hard for me to rewatch the earlier seasons cause all you could see was her weird cheese noodle tummy and it was weird, made me very uncomfortable. Also isn’t weird how her outfit gets more modest as she gets older and not the other way around? I’m glad it gets more modest but it’s still weird.
