I am in Izmir... ( every city beautiful of my country (it was more beautiful before).. 3.000.000+ homeless immigrant came( Syrians who fled the war )... if you have a friend is to seek honest information before your holiday Turkish... I live for the weekend (Ilica, Cesme).... the water is incredibly beautiful, and even the small fry you can even see the fish...( if you want to see fish.... I recommend to swim in the sea 10:00 AM) in the meantime, I would recommend eating İZMİR KUMRU ( kind of mixed sandwich)

in the meantime, I was born in Artvin...I suggest to get rid of this scorching heat, the Black Sea plateau... I'll give you a bonus.. Borçka-Karagöl Yaylası , Giresun-Sis Dağı Yaylası , Rize-Ayder Yaylası , Artvin-Girl The Legend Of The Lake , Rize Pokut ve Sal Yaylaları ... Ayder yaylası ...Sumela monastery... bla bla bla.... all the goodies in there all the spontaneity of real life...

Izmir is location of westernized Turks, it is actually kind of wrong to say it was Greek Town, because Izmir is Turkish town since 1081:), it was Greek Town just for couple years after WW1 but Greek Army destroyed everything behind so actually the town is all Turkish, great video, love from Sacramento!

Abi Izmir was majority Greek for the majority of the Ottoman Empires rule. The Greek areas of the empire didn't see that much fighting during ww1 because the Kingdom of Greece was unwilling to go to war as they had a German royal family (obviously this changed towards the end of the war). That's why the traditionally Greek areas have preserved their historic buildings unlike the east which saw really heaving fighting and is now really barren.

Actually "Dolmuş" doesn't come from the food, dolma. It comes from the verb, Dol, which mean "get full". Dolmuş means "full, filled". Dolma means "filling-stuffing". Of course they stayed as nouns in the time like sky-diving in English.

You guys great, Thank you for your amazing comments about our beautiful city ! BTW there is a thing that I have to say about your "greek city" comment in alaçatı Greeks and Turks lived under Ottoman Empire reign together like 300 years or something. and there was so many Turks had lived in Grece (especially in islands) and at the same time there was so many Greek people that had lived in turkey (especially western part) after ww1 governments agreed about interchange all the civilians to their nation state. As a result that ambience which you had felt when you had been in Alaçatı neither greek nor Turkish. that is the beauty of cultural exchange. feel the great Aegean Sea wind and have some fun we all love you guys thank you for visiting♥️

4:02 You R Seeing TURKEY in just TURKEY. Turkey is a mixed-up country where others are not, you can find the different cultures in Turkey not because of other country past influences, it’s just the way of people dwelling there, it might show some similarity but not that close to be called like “other countries name.” for the specific part of Turkey 🇹🇷

Alaçatı is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places you can also see the 'greece vibes' in Kaş/Antalya,it's also an amazing place You should visit Eskişehir sometime! There are historical places like Odunpazarı Evleri, Atlıhan El sanatları çarşısı/müzesi. You can see a lot of handcrafts there especially with 'lületaşı' which is a unique rock only in Eskişehir. There are also many museums like wax figures, cam sanatları. There is a river in the middle of the city and it looks beautiful. You can also kayak and more in Rize I think. Ordu's Boztepe. Catsle of these regions. Monasteries and Mosques. Ofcourse the nature and the typical wooden houses. Also very different from the rest of Turkey. Having Turkic/Pontic Greek/Laz/Georgian and to some extent (real small) Armenian cultural influences mixed in to a wonderful Turkish BlackSea culture.

"Dolmuş" comes from the word "dolmak" which means "to be filled" and "dolmuş" literally means "filled" The reason they call it that way is that those minibuses used to take off (without any schedule) just when their seats are filled with passengers. So, when there're enough passengers it used to start moving. Although "stuffed" and "filled" are basicly covered with the same word in Turkish, It is not exactly used to be "stuffed" with passengers like the Turkish meal you ate before :) Nowadays they usually take off with some type of a schedule but still some dolmuş lines around Turkey take off when their seats are filled.

if you have more time in turkey, i suggest going straight to the Bodrum, and take a boat trip from theźd marina, also bodrum is even bigger than the Çeşme and it is the most popular vacatiom place in Turkey :)

Hi guys, People are asking for Turkish subtitles (They wrote comments about it in Turkish so I feel like translating it for you). I think you can ask your Turkish friends to do the translation, and your audience who don't speak English would be happy :) Take care!

taking a boat trip in çesme might be amazing too, i didnt do that in çesme but generally in daily boat trips at aegean sea, the boat stops at several bays and let you jump into the water from the boat , and also you can sunbathe at the rooftop of the boats :)
