i have not watched the cma's for many years, ever since the dixie chicks, oh thats right they sold out to the woke people and changed their name to the chicks. no balls, no backbone, no common sense, and once all of the rap country shit hit. i used to watch them every year, but will never again. i do not watch any of the music award shows any longer. got all about being black and and pretty much black only. no balls, no back bone. i guess people liked watching a bunch of black men up on stage grabbing their crotch and just mostly being ignorant. i have no problem with black singers and players. i love all of the old motown stuff. real talent and good music. who wants to hear about rich black people complaining about being oppressed and killing cops.

I saw Alan Jackson live in Paso Robles, Ca when Chattahoochee first came out and he was just becoming well known. I will never forget, he sung his heart out and 1/2 way threw he said there would be a short intermission. He then said he was going to take that time to give thanks where thanks belongs, and proceeded to sing, from the bottom of his heart, Christian Hymns. I sat there the entire time with tears flowing down my face with more love and respect than imaginable. AJ's the best!!!!!

Don't forget George Strait. H also is a believer in the real C/W music. When they both sing together, their harmony is awesome. In that CWA show, they cut down George Jones. I mean Nashville did. That's another reason why Alan Jackson walked out. Nashville wanted him to sing a cut down version of his own song. Nashville forgot how much money George Jones made them. To me that was totally disgraceful to one of our biggest legend.

They all have the same words and message. Take away words like girl beer tailgate truck and the rest of the cliches and they couldn't write a song. Someone needs to go to Walmart and get themselves an original thought. Rap has no place in county music and the pop queens should be played on a pop station. @@mikeymike8705 What I meant by EXTREME is that it means SO much to him, that he forgets It's not just about him and his traditional views, it's about what other generations love as well. To me ts just disrespectful to just up and leave because it isn't the same as 20 years ago, not like this came out of nowhere, It's been like this, he shouldn't have gone at all. All I'm saying is ALL main music genres change. And It's normal for us to have a special place for OUR music we grew up with, but that's us, what about the younger generation who doesn't have that special tie to that music, the ones that added their twist to it that they love along with the new generation. Might be trash to you and me, but not to them. It's not right or wrong. Alan Jackson just reminded me of my dad, who thought my 80s rock was trash because it wasn't like Led Zeppelin or the doors. Etc. At the end of the day it is not a big deal though, it's just music, we have our classics.

It's not that there are less and less...radio stations are controlled by record labels who REFUSE to put real country out there and if someone slips past them they block radio play. Real country singers are out there but tone deaf arrogant executives are ruling the world of radio and listeners be damned. DJ are not allowed to play what they want. They are puppets. Watch Coal Miners Daughter. You will see how country use to be.

I agree with you to an extent. Here's why. The artist you named has molded country music. Then you add in the artists to looked up to those artists bringing their sound and their story sounding similar ( not the same) as their idols. Making country music sound a little different. So when you add someone like George Strait there is someone similar like Aaron Watson or Cody Johnson. If you get my point. There will be country artists today that have to use elements of their favorite time. A good example is Brooks and Dunn. One of their big hits was with Luke Combs. Who brings a 90s sound/style with modern sounds as well. Shoot look at Mason Ramsey. That boy can yodel not many artists do that. We are being given older sounds in a modern fashion. Which is fine. It's where country music artists come in and bring in the Pop element to it. So to an extent part is there will be acts like Florida Georgia Line that everyone hates. But look at them then think about Big and Rich! They are somewhat similar. Both of them have rocking songs to sad songs. They even ✌️quote in quote ✌️ split up but not completely to do there own things. It's the Kane Brown's and Walker Hayes Chase Rice and others that make people think the way they do.

There are different genres of music, each one having its own individual style. Each one being separate, and having its own personal identity. This is what makes people appreciate the VARIETY. When you say blurred the lines what exactly do you mean? Artists branching out and collaborating with artists from other genres? I hope not since they are artists and that’s what they do. If you mean real country turning into Rascal Flats type garbage then I agree, but most top country these days are in my opinion more pop music than country. Country to me is Cash, Waylon, Jackson, Colter Wall, Sturgill Simpson etc.. not what you hear on country radio for the most part or topping Nashville charts

I remember in the 80's when country music lost it's way and country pop was being forced down the throats of country fans on country radio. There's always a backlash and it takes new artist's to bring it back to it's roots. For me, those artist's in the 80's who helped bring it back were Randy Travis and Keith Whitley. Today it's artist's like Cody Johnson. I guess the pendulum will always swing when it comes to country music.

You should know how to spell his name - first of all Alan Jackson is an "ok" singer - he doesn't have phenomenal range - there's lots of singers - they are everywhere + but not many are 6' tall with long flowing hair and blue eyes + I saw Alan Jackson the day after he signed a record deal - what sets this dude apart is his ability to do write - I'm from the country - not a suburb of a suburb but 2 hrs from the nearest city - same county as Bill Monroe - Bill Monroe truth be told would tell you Alan is more Hollywood than country - because his perspective was different - to people like him if you had a drummer in the band it ain't so country - When Hank Williams was new - he was considered " prog" No body had heard anything like it - You can use labels all you want - Alan Jackson has never ridden a tough horse in his life - it's what I do for a living - who's more country ? My life is horses, dogs, cats , and loud screaming guitars - the girls love it by the way - anyhow I'm out here in the woods as I write this - I had my hands on over a dozen horses before 6 am - your man Alan is either in his multimillion$ bus or his multimillion $ home - who's more country?

@@davidrice3337 I totally understand what you are saying, and no Alan cannot hit every range, like his singing at George's funeral and rendition of HSLHT is not how George did it. But Alan does have enormous talent and a nice voice and country values. He is such a humble, although now very rich man with integrity, too. Everyone has there own niche. Like Bill Monroe is Bluegrass, which I appreciate. I think of my mother's generation. She grew up just like Loretta Lynn only on a mountain in Tennessee. I grew up listening to Loretta and others on country radio in the sixties and 70's. My cousins in Tnn had to come off the mountain and work in town if they did not want to be miners. When Alan came along in the early 90's, he appealed to people like me and my cousins because no, we were not as country as our parents were, or people like you, but he was way more country than the pop country radio era of the 80's and he reminded us of growing up listening to what mom and dad did. Loretta Lynn's country holler home sounds different than yours, but it was definitely country in the woods like you, only with more mules maybe than horses. Enjoy yours, though, that's an awesome way to live !

@@willietrotter9522 that awful racist garbage from some of the south reared it's ugly head too long. I loved my parents, but they both were raised in that ignorance and I did not learn better until I went to an integrated school.Thank God I did. Alan seems too loving to treat people that way, I sure hope not. The jargon and other parts may be there in a way he does not realize, but it does need to go. I cannot understand how people could have been so ignorant and arrogant towards their fellowman, but when you are raised hearing and seeing it, you have to then learn it is wrong. Very appalling, horrific and sad. Maybe like the old caste system in India, the holocaust in Germany, and other times in history when humans wrongly lorded over other humans. I worked with a friend whose family come from Alabama. She was black and her daddy was a preacher and farmer who worked for a white man in construction. She said they worked together on crops and building according to the season and her community of black and white saw no color, only that they needed each other. That's how it needs to be and I wish all the south had been like her area.
