You're crying because you have a heart and a soul and they're both in good working condition.

His producer wanted him to re-do some of the vocals because his voice cracked, and he refused. The emotion in this video is real and immediate - I'm glad he left it the way it was.

There's nothing wrong with crying ...I'm no way classed as "hard" but I'm ex army, ex bouncer who's done security nearly 12 years so emotionally I'm good at hiding or controlling my emotions but by god this song completely broke me especially as a father

This was the first time his father heard the song . His Dad had stage 4 kidney disease and was once a kidney donor but a donor could not be found for him until this video came out and a distant cousin came forward and was a match and donated a kidney to James’s dad. They were both in the service and feeling we’re not always easy to talk about but this is a wonderful tribute to his dad.

@@jimdoyle8757 I’m Irish but was brought up in England since I was a child, the rest of my family are still in Ireland, my siblings etc and my mum. Well all of my family are still over there. Long story short, mum had 5 kids, me being the youngest, she left my dad and moved to England, married again and had my youngest sister, she moved back to Ireland and so did all my siblings, I already had a baby and partner here in England at this point so stayed put. Where about sin England are you from? Oh and where in Ireland do your family come from?

@@rhondafoy7403 ah its a similar story for a lot of the Irish , my nan moved to england just before ww2 basically for work and met an Irishman they went back to Ireland during the war and had me mum , then came back to england again for work after the war . My mum went down a similar road and met an Irishman in England and that when me and my brother came along . My nans family ie sisters came over too so there was a big contingent of us back in the day that all stayed very close to each other . I remember as i kid we lived in my nans house that had 3 floors and a basement and my nan lived ground floor my uncle and family in the basement , my mum and dad first and my 2 aunties 2nd and 3rd so you can imagine how crowded it was lol . We all lived in west london around the hammersmith shepherds bush area

That was his Father Charles. He allowed James to make that song because he only had weeks left and he wanted James to have it. Charles was in 4th stage kidney failure. He donated one kidney when he was younger and the other one failed. That song found a Cousin that was a match. James and his sisters did not match. Last I heard his Dad was doing well. There was only one take of that song with no auto tune. James did well considering he was crying and this was very real. James is a brilliant singer/songwriter and musician. No one can watch that and not relate, I can’t.

So so raw. When my father was told he had approx 3 months he refused to go into a hospice. I moved him in with him to nurse him. My father said we shoudnt say goodbye as we would meet again. All he asked was when he passed i opened a botle of very fine scotch whisky that he had . I should have a glass and smoke a cigar before i called a dr to say he had gone. He said "dont be afraid of being alone with a dead man". I wasnt, my dad never hurt me in life so i knew he woudnt hurt me in death. rip dad, we will meet again and we wont even have to say hello as we never ever really left each other

This is an emotional and heartfelt song, you have some who don't really get it and then there are people like you who just sit there and listen. That tear meant you got it and it got you thinking about family or someone you lost, I lost my Father a few years ago and my Mother nearly a year ago to the day, I feel his pain.

James and his Dad Charles are both former British Army officers who both saw active service. (James a Captain, Charles a Colonel) Charles was dying from stage 4 kidney failure at the time of this filming. Thankfully a kidney donor was eventually found for Charles. He sang this as a tribute to his Dad. For a soldier to show such raw emotion and vulnerability is very brave. This song was recorded in one take. All proceeds from this song were donated to veterans charities. So much respect for James. He does a lot for veterans charities.

Don't ever question why your emotions act the way they do. In this case your heart has opened up and is swallowing every bit of this gut wrenching yet beautiful song. If you didn't have that beautiful heart and soul to go along with it. I cannot watch this video without using a box of Kleenex. I don't have my Dad anymore so it hits me hard too. Thank you Sceez for hanging in there to do this reaction. It is a hard one to do. So let those tears flow because there is absolutely no shame for a man to show his feelings. If it is any help to you, apparently his father got the help he needed and he didn't pass on.

I never got to say goodbye to my father, because of my own doing. I got a call when i walked out of work for the night. He was gone. The last of my entire family. I'll carry that on my soul forever. It was my fault i didn't go see him. It made me realize i was a sh*t human and needed to do a lot of work on myself. Its hard to do it alone though. This was tough to get through ❤

Wow Ghetto opening BRO - Cant believe people don't get this song ... a rough past between them... a duh ... make peace so his soul can go on easy to the next level easier, w/o regret/anguish between the past. How can people even question this lyrical depth? What complete idiots some of you are. Google it, and wake up. Then Google empathy cause all these next generations have lost ALL of it. Video Author is sadly 1OO% clueless ... but is sure to end with : "Yeah um, check out my social pages bla bla bla" ???!!!! How sad is that. Today's narcissistic "Trump" thinking society. My God, Jesus save us all/them also ... please?
