Just so all you guys know, your full 30 min breaks by law, are uninterrupted, this means if your break is from 10:30-11, you don’t have to leave your break area until 11. Walking to and from your work area to your break area is considered work, not break. And if it takes you 5 min to get to your break, leave 5 min early from work station to be to your break on time… I’ll say it again. It is ILLEGAL for your manager to expect you to be back as soon as your break ends, because this would mean your break was not uninterrupted. It’s federal law, talk to HR about it and get this cleared up because I hate to see Amazon managers taking advantage of our precious break time when they work us so hard. My manager tried telling me my 30 min break was only really 20 min because of the 5 min it took to walk to and from the break area back to work area. I contacted HR and they said no your break is uninterrupted. Which means by law to achieve this I need to leave work area 5 min before break and I need 5 min to walk back after break which means I won’t be back till 5 after; this is because walking to and from break area is considered WORK, not break. Stop getting taken advantage of and stand up for our rights. One more time, this is Federal regulations that your breaks be uninterrupted. I’m done with managers thinking stealing 10 min from us is going to help rate any. It’s sickening and most people are brainwashed. Just give HR a call and clear this up. I’d call in to HR, not talk to the one at your location. I’ll add this goes for the US. Idk about other countries laws. But by god I’m taking my full breaks uninterrupted and if someone wants to get sued over being so stingy to take 5 min here and there from me and tell me walking the massive warehouse isn’t considered work, than by god they’ll get sued AF. Think about it. If your shift starts at 6 your not required to clock in at 5:55 to get across warehouse by 6. Your expected to clock in at 6. No earlier, and the time it takes to walk to work area after that is clearly work. Otherwise they wouldn’t put the clock in and out areas by the break rooms.

Found on LinkedIn Amazon shareholders will vote on whether the company should undergo an independent audit regarding its treatment of warehouse workers, Reuters reports. The e-commerce giant tried to block the resolution, but was rebuffed by the SEC, the U.S.’s top securities regulator. As Reuters notes, Amazon has drawn “increasing criticism” for its treatment of workers, including allegations of unsafe conditions and baseless firings. Earlier this month, workers at an Amazon warehouse in Staten Island, New York, voted to unionize, the first such victory at the company in the U.S.

I have been an employee for Amazon a total of 7 months at two different sites. The Fulfillment Centers are so strict which causes major stress. I worked sort centers and the ones I worked at were so much better as far as someone looking over your shoulder all the time. I enjoy the sort centers at Amazon Air locations so much better. Amazon just creates so much stress for their associates! It s obvious why their turn over rate is so high! They may have awesome benefits that begin day one, but the associates pay a price for this both mentally and physically.

Last week Saturday, I took over an hour long break after clocking out for my flex 30 minute unpaid break from 10- 10:30AM. After that I took another 30 break & a pick or CAPs manager came to talk to me about that. I told them I had a migraine headache & was told to go to another process job path. I don't know how TOT/down time works. Do Amazon track your time upon clocking in? I am not sure how that works on tracking your activity, because I usually do waterspider where I am not signed into any device or machine.

Their rate is ridiculous, their bin system needs to be re-evaluated Why if I scanned 11 boxes size 18 & 16 I received por size 6 &9 They want us to take bin etiquett very serious but their system doesn’t help at all. When it comes to people using the rest room that a natural need , is no the staff’s fault how facilities were built , or when they change break time at the last minute because they are not getting their numbers, is normal to use the restroom every two hrs, if you have health condition probably more. Their productivity system is unrealistic, and when you receive bin size 18 & 16 they full because they keep giving VTO to pickers.

I love how they use indirect roles like that. Good ole Amazon. Just do everything with passive-aggressive threatening and negative communication. Must be part of their "Leadership Principles". Indirect roles don't pay more, but they are more challenging and give Amazon more value from the employees that are able to do them well, so it is mutually beneficial. Instead of appreciating that, they try to mind game you and act like they're doing you a huge favor. "We'll take you off indirect. We'll cut your indirect shifts." Just nonsense.

We were slowing down on the VTO as well and there was even a day or two last week where there was no VTO available before the shift started, but things immediately changed and they realized there was no work at all, and right back to the huge VTO batches we went. I just finished my second week working at amazon. I'm actually a picker. Don't get me wrong, the job is easy, but the management and the time schedule are getting on my nerves though. Especially before and after my second 30 minute break! I literally do what I'm supposed to do, and I literally make double sure that I get my 30 minutes in and get back to work on time, but NOPE! I get reprimanded, just for working my butt off just trying to get my job done and do what I'm supposed to do. I'm also in the autistic spectrum, and it's pretty clear that they don't care about disabilities. I'm literally looking up other jobs to apply to just incase I end up having to walk out. I'm going to try to stick it out for maybe a few months, but if I need to walk out, then I will. I'm so grateful to have amazing co-workers who literally have my back though. Also, the bumps and pot holes are rediculous at my workplace, so I'm a bit worried for other peoples safety, including mine when people drive near them or over them.
