We should remember the past in order to learn from it, but sadly we seem to be stuck in the past.

Did you know? Native American's had slaves of rival tribes long before we came here. African's had slaves in Africa long before they sold us some. Arabs had slaves since antiquity. Egyptians held Jews as slaves -- all BEFORE Pilgrim's came to America!

No, We Can't Escape Our Racist Roots, but We Can Grow Past Them, Lotus Flowers rise and blossom from the most disgusting filth and muck, WE as a Society must decide that skin colour and cultural background are not basis for judging a person, their Character, How They Treat Others, do they Contribute? That is ALL That Can be judged.

Because they are not allowed to talk about it. :) But mostly because there is not much racial difference. In Americas (including the US) racial mix is much higher than anywhere in the world. As far as ethnic differences are concerned, in China, these have been engineered to disappear by blending (by forcibly moving large swaths of population, for instance) since the early empires. Now, Han Chinese account for over 90% of Chinese population. But Han's ancestry traces back to just one of very many confederations of agricultural tribes, from eastern part of Huang He. Initially, they "unified" many tribes perceived as "barbaric" foreigners around them, etc. So, how did they become over 90% of the total??? Nothing short of miraculous, ah? ;) But maybe (just maybe) the ethnic "rebalancing" going on now in Tibet may give you a hint. Harmony!!

Why are people getting ancy about what is being said? This was said one year ago, but from that time until now, so many things have happened. Hundreds of killings and racist rants and inequalities. We seem to have gone backwards than further. Nothing much has changed and people are more wicked than ever. The ones complaining seems to be guilty of many things. He has a right to speak and so do you.

Secondly you need to ask a Black or other MINORITY American about racism in America! He is a 'student' of the subject and a descendant of the practice so I guess he can speak to the overall condition of Slavery anytime he wants...

The new wave of accusations of racism carry a new definition. Its not racism at all it’s culture. When they say “time” is racist it makes no sense, when you say people of the dominate culture....which BTW have white skin, value promptness. And they view other cultures who don’t value it as less. This is not about skin color it’s about action and values.

Some of it is ridiculous. But for a country that has been openly racist for most of it's history and had to pass laws to force it's citizen from being racist; it shouldn't be that hard to understand that this country is still racist. I was born in 73. Less than a decade laws had to passed to stop racism. I'm still living, I should not expect this country to be post racist so soon. People don't just up and change their minds without a radical, aggressive approach. And that's being denied. I was born here and I have never felt a part of it.😮
@swagdonor2357
@swagdonor2357 Жыл бұрын
@@ndeamonk24 I hear that argument a lot. People say “I don’t FEEL safe or I don’t FEEL apart.” That’s no one else’s problem but yours. It’s not Americas’s job to make you feel part. Everyone feels left out sometimes but feelings don’t matter frankly. You have to assert yourself like everyone else. Also You want a radical aggressive change? What do you mean by that? I’d say the country is fine the way it is. Under the law you can have any job you want without racial discrimination. Equal opportunity. What more can you ask for? There’s racist black people and racist white people. I don’t think that will ever change because humans discriminate naturally on each other based on looks. Anyway this really is the most free country ever and your parents who probably lived through Jim Crow would agree I’m sure, along with many other blacks. Look up Larry Elder. He’s really smart and knows how to explain this.

@@swagdonor2357Radical Aggressive change? Such as unrepentant America currently falling off or simply being under the judgment of God. Which is actually connected to crap such as Slavery + Systematic racism + stubborn prideful refusal to actually make proper biblical atonement (which is connected to reparations) + more. Long story short so no one has noticed the historical + present painfully obvious? Which is America has & has historically had the same spirit or attitude towards African Americans in particular. That Old Testament Pharaoh had towards Moses & the children of Israel. Which also involved Slavery & a genocidal plot against the children of Israel + stubborn prideful refusal to simply make proper biblical atonement. Followed by judgment coming upon that Nation & them forking over reparations (Note not before it) afterwards by default.

people need to grab something to feel superior. Some hold on to the skin color. Some hold on to "chasing righteousness" for moral superiority. Some hold on to religion to feel more "woke" than others. America's culture provides such platform for the skin color to be picked out as a differentiator. If it is not skin color, there will always be something else. The root cause is the lack of self-value and seek outward validation. And by typing this, I am feeling so valuable of myself to justify my own insecurity.

He is a bad choice for this discussion. He’s not a product of American chattel slavery and hence he has a disconnect. His idea of reparations is a kind of integration which will not work. Native black Americans require restitution and redistribution of wealth, power , and territories to create superior communities that serves those citizens wholistically.

I guess you assume I don't know anything about theory put forward in the book: The Hereditary Genius published *in 1869,* by polymath Francis Galton, which was pushed among White Americans of the day and it's legacy persists to this day...
