The Monroe Doctrine was also hammered out by Great Britain, which greatly benefited from the Doctrine because they were the strongest colonial power in the Americas, as Spanish colonies were gaining independence from Spain and Brazil gained independence from Portugal. Also America couldn't have enforced the Doctrine anyway because of the lack of naval power. It was the British that enforced the Doctrine (to some degree). Saying it meant that the Doctrine implied the US proclaimed the Americas to be its "territory" or sphere of influence reeks of ignorance of historical context.

Just because the wars are near Israel, ( middle east ) doesn't automatically mean that there is governmental corruption by the "Jews" or Zionists. After 9/11, with or without Israel, we'd bomb the hell out of Afganistan either way. All empires become imperialist. Some are better than others, but all empires eventually become that. Are you saying that the modern state of Israel preceeded its existence and promoted imperialism even during the ancient and middle ages?

This is coming from someone who thinks America should be much more isolated: Israel has a right to self defense against nations and peoples who declare they won't stop fighting until Israel no longer exists. Does this mean we financially support both sides like we are doing now? Absolutely not. Should we call them out when they make a mistake? Morally yes but we really shouldn't care if both sides are just left to themselves(i.e. call out both or neither). But while I think you are making some amazing points here, I think you are taking a rather harsh stance against Israel's moral right to defend itself. I would also disagree with your stance on WW2. I don't condone the hidden war we played before we actually got involved, but WW2 and the civil war are the only two wars that you can say America was completely morally justified in waging. (That doesn't mean it was carried out morally)

The key to understanding all this is to understand one important thing: There are no such things as republics or democracies. Only Oligarchy and Monarchy concern human affairs. America, and most of the West, if not most of the world, has been an Oligarchy, since well before the American Revolution, since at least the Glorious Revolution of 1688 in Britain, which deposed a legitimate sitting monarch on the basis that he was Catholic. Our various governments have basically two sides to them: The Visible side, and the Invisible side. The Visible side is a distraction, an elaborate stage play meant to make their respective peoples believe that they matter to government policies when they actually don't. The Invisible side is where the real business of governing actually takes place. Government, under Oligarchy, is really a brokerage, where political power is traded for wealth. In most countries today, we have Open Oligarchies, where anyone with enough money and capital can trade at the brokerage for political favors as needed. Oligarchies are fractious by nature; its actors, be they in government or private interests, are highly competitive for power in its various forms. And because most private oligarchs (public oligarchs are in various levels of government, both elected and unelected) are of the mercantile persuasion, their interests profoundly shape government policies. And make no mistake; all political parties who have any influence in government at all, in the brokerage, be it American, British, French, even Chinese, are part of all this. I've often said that the Right, in any Oligarchical system, has never had any real representation in government, at all. America hasn't had such representation in its government, somewhere, since King George III. And that's a very important point. Because one of the things Oligarchs are united on, almost to a man, is a deep seething hatred of anything that could possibly tell any of them, or all of them, No, and mean it. They hate Monarchy with a huge passion, along with the Catholic Church and common, ordinary people at large, because they cannot have anything that is considered beneath them to refuse them anything. Anything that could be a political or even a military impediment to their interests, let alone a religious one, is disdained, and targeted for mitigation and destruction. Anecdotally, I remember, when I was in the US Army during the Bosnian War, and Secretary of State, back then, Madaleine Albright, said, when some of the various delegates discussing peace in Bosnia and Croatia, of perhaps bringing back the King of Yugoslavia, and she replied that the United States does not do monarchies. And she was very quick to say that, without hesitation. If you look at American foreign policy through this lens, of mercantilistic Oligarchy, it makes it all clear. Suppose China were to depose the CCP, and go to an Emperor again. How do you think Washington, D.C. would respond? Or, what if Hungary, or worse, France, were to bring back their kings? I don't think I'm being hyperbolic when I say that our foreign relations with these countries would sour quickly, at the least. It also explains, a bit, why the US doesn't want to use its own vast natural resources. Part of the reason is based on foreign policies, that the deals the US Government has made with various other countries involve hamstringing American production itself. But another reason is the hypercompetitive nature of Oligarchy itself. The various private interests are fiercely competitive for their own areas of the market; if America were to suddenly introduce to that market new industries meant to harvest those resources, suddenly they'd get new and smaller competitors who would, over time, eat up percentages of the market. Part of how Oligarchs use their influence in the brokerage is to make it harder and harder for new and small competitors to exist and do business. Through regulation and lawfare, they can squeeze those new people out. And, it's interesting also to point out that if, should a new competitor really hit it off and make it big, the Oligarchy in general will not let that person sit on his fortune. New tycoons, throughout American history, have been forced into trading at the brokerage, kicking and screaming sometimes, such as J.D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg, before they understood what the Oligarchy wanted from them and promised them in return. It's why all of our respective governments, from the US, to the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Japan, and so on, don't make a whole lot of sense if you believe they are truly representative democracies. There's a great speech from the movie Network, where, I think, though it was meant to placate a madman, explains what these people, the Oligarchs, at least the idealistic ones, believe: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWanhJetbMl7oNU

Wait. Sadam protected Christians?
@dougearnest75902 ай бұрын
In the past, many Arab / Muslim countries "protected" both Christians and Jews in that there were laws granting them rights - though they were generally treated as second class citizens. Oddly enough, similar to the rights Muslims enjoyed in Israel. There were even Christians in many Arab states that served in the government, military, etc. So the problem was not that the Muslims hated Jews, but that they hated the existence of the State of Israel and wanted to destroy it. Jews and Christians were fine as long as they knew their place.
@jonathandeichman55012 ай бұрын
Typically Muslim states had a tax that Christians and Jews had to pay that, if they didn’t pay it, they would be killed. Saddam, however, was a secular leader and wasn’t a devout Muslim. This can explain his protection of Christians
@AdrianFahrenheitTepes2 ай бұрын
Saddam Hussein was very secular and wasn’t going by the most orthodox Muslim practices such as The Jizya, or tax on those who weren’t Muslim. Saddam also tried to keep the Sunni and Shiite Muslim factions in Iraq from fighting with each other, and killing Jews/Christians on the side while they fight each other. With Saddam out, it became a playground for the Sunni and Shiite Muslims to fight each other, and also kill the non-Muslims as well.

The American government has ALWAYS tried to convert the Americas to protestantism. Back in the day religion was extremely important, and America tried to expand it's version of Christianity to ANYWHERE on the Globe. Then America became anti christian and now spreads it's degeneracy. It made sense to send a gazillion missionaries and fund a trillion wars in order to spread their religious and political views, they already saw LatAm as their backyard anyway.

What gets me about all these "interventions" is that, as the video points out, the USA acts as if it has some kind of moral or divine right to "throw its weight" around all over the globe. Back in the 1860's during our own Civil War, President Lincoln and his Secretary of State, William Seward, pleaded with European nations (especially Great Britain and France) NOT to interfere in the war by breaking the US's naval blockade of the Southern Confederacy. Lincoln's and Seward's efforts were successful and the war was brought to an end after four bloody years. Why can't we extend the same courtesy to foreign nations and stop interfering in their internal affairs?
