One of my few problems with Episode III is how quickly Anakin became a blood-thirsty monster after murdering Windu. If you are interested in a well-written fall to the dark side, read the Tales of the Jedi comics, in which Exar Kun, even after accepting to become a Sith, still keeps his humanity and good nature for some time, gradually becoming the monster that almost conquered the Galaxy

He became dark so fast because he had nowhere else to go because the Jedi wouldn’t take him now he’s just assisted in killing windu which makes Padme his new priority hence why he went to the temple and killed the Jedi which brought the true darkness out in him because that will twist your mind, the seeds for anakins downfall were planted throughout episode 1 and 2 showing him subtly become more dark and lust for power like in episode 2 where he talks about how he thinks the system should work and jokes it off he’s always had that need for power if you watch closely

I love the "Come to the Dark Side, we have cookies" meme, you could also say that the Dark Side also has potato salad, as it's one of the evil things someone can do when they bring potato salad to a picnic. There needs to be an ai video of Anakin pledging loyalty to Sidious where the characters are just voiced by AI doing impersonations of the Clone Wars cast, provided Anakin does decide to do a thesis on why he turned to the Dark Side

Anaking feared Windu would kill Sidious and he needed him alive in order to save Padme( he believed that in his mind). I think he feared the Jedi will kill him and he want to kill Sidious but at the same time the fear of losing Padme was a greater thing to deal with.

How many husbands and fathers in Anakin's position would choose differently. This is what makes Anakin's character compelling is we have to ask ourselves honestly how far would we go to save our family if left with no other option than make a deal with someone as evil as Darth Sidious.

Well the jedi have force heal and the sith are evil and lie and murder to get their way. If you choose the sith you're kinda brain-dead, even when desperate. If he killed sidious he would have achieved his destiny and removed most threats of danger to padmes life in the first place. Knowing that the sith orchestrated the war.

What GENERAL SKYWALKER went through and others in other universes isn't that easy to comprehend because thier situations are beyond the complexity of understanding until one goes through it themselves.. Everyone thinks Morality is an easy thing to do but the truth is, is that when it comes to events that affect one in a universal scale is never that easy.. 1st off , if you look deeper into the history conflicts between the sith and jedi, you would see the jedi were mostly at fault for what had happened to them and the republic and they have so much innocent blood on their hands as well mate, long b4 the events of EP 1 T.P.M. 2nd not all the jedi's had force heal, barely any did because believe it or not, those types of ability uses in the force was actually frowned upon, the jedi limited themselves on purpose because they thought it was an abuse use of the force for some reason, that's why they only had a special class of jedi at the temples just for healing and bacta tanks.. That's why many sith apprentices during the time of the old republic were stronger then even some jedi masters. 3rd, more then 1000 years before the events of T.P.M. ,the top jedi masters of the old republic had padawans that had visions of the future about what's to come but they thought their padawans were possessed so they literally killed them thinking that what they did was right but it just further doomed them. 4th, the jedi committed genocide against the last group of sith, (even younglings if I may add) causing them to almost die out completely if it wasn't for LORD BANE and the rule of 2, they could've tried to at least have them convert back into the light but they didn't, they just massacred them on the last sith hold out planet they had.. 5th, when MASTER QUI-GON notified the jedi council on the return of the sith, they fuckin ignores him and even ignored the warnings of both THE COUNT AND MASTER SIFO-DEYUS and they didn't even bother to give him any back up when they returned to naboo and we all know how that ended!.. To add insult to injury after the death of Master QUI-GON, the jedi lied about it, further pissing off COUNT DOOKU ,making him go deeper into his own darkness and having resentment against not only the jedi but the republic as a whole!.., the hubris of the jedi was there most epic and tragic failures for they became lapdogs of a decaying democratic system that was starting to fail its own people.. It's easy to blame the dark side mate but no one wants to admit when the light blinds them with false ultruistic idealism like the jedi did.. Keep in mind that it was also the jedi's fault for pushing ANAKIN away and for the galactic public opinion of them to decay as well... Oh and F.Y.I ANAKIN couldn't kill SIDIOUSE right away even though deep down he really wanted to because he knew he still wasn't ready to do so..

Well in the movie at the beginning anakin looks the face of sidious horrified and disgusted, but after being named as darth vader he not was afraid anymore and that look don't disturbing him. I think was a nice touch, considering Lucas preffer theatrical things over extensive dialogue.

Because he brought balance to the Force. Theory 1: The jedi overpopulated and became fully self-righteous, unsympathetic, and hypocritical. They saw the Force as something they held full domain over. The Sith were a danger to the galaxy by merely being present. They saw everything as something they deserved full domain over. So the Force decided the best move was to purge both and let the one with the greatest potential for balance start again from square one. Anakin wasn't a monster, nor was he a messiah: He was a plague. A flood. A divine retribution. Whatever he did, it was either foretold or swayed by the Force, and so it saw no reason to punish him. Theory 2: Or maybe Anakin was a test: A being of immense potential for good or evil, with the Jedi being the ones tested. They could have raised him properly if they too were in balance, and he would've helped further strengthen them and the era of peace. But Qui-Gon, the one best suited to pass this test, died, and so they failed miserably. Vader was the punishment of failing that test. Then Luke came along, and passed where the old order had failed. So Anakin came back to the light long enough to remove the Sith from the equation, and Luke was allowed the freedom to decide if he wanted to rebuild the jedi properly. Anakin was then allowed to become one with the Force because at his core he was neutral, like his "father" the Force itself, and the ones who had tipped him the wrong way were already punished for doing so. Heck, Anakin was 22 when he became Vader, and 45 when he died. He literally spent half his life following the teachings of the jedi, and half his life following the teachings of the sith.

Because of Anakin's stupid decisions. I understand he had his issues and that the Jedi Order didn't help and Palpatine manipulated him for over a decade but at the end of the day, Anakin was responsible for his own choices just like the Jedi made their poor decisions to serve politicians rather than the Force.

The Force deemed the Jedi Order to have lost its way due to their decisions to stray from its original teachings and chose to get involved with the politics of the Republic. Anakin's destiny was to bring balance to the Force. Unfortunately the old Jedi Order had to be destroyed along with billions of lives for the prophecy to be fulfilled.

Sidious was right though the Jedi weren’t Anakin’s friends by the way they treated him over the years so I’m not gonna deny that. Once you join someone like Sidious there truly is no going back after the missions he will put you on to prove yourself 🤷🏾‍♂️✅.

Some where his friends but it was mainly most of the Jedi Council that treated him terribly most noticeably Mace Windu, I mean Yoda did want what's best for Anakin hence why he gave him Ahsoka but yeah it was mainly most of the Council deciding to go behind Anakin's back and not tell him anything like the undercover job that Obi-Wan had to go on or them suspecting Palpatine was getting to strong and prolongs the War also not putting into account of how Anakin would react to them telling him to spy on Palpatine amongst other things plus Yoda telling Anakin to let go of what he fears to lose though he should have worded it right to that people do die and we can't change it so spend as much time with them before they pass on and don't let the fear of them dying affect you as they will be with you in your heart and memories

No attatchments at all doesn't make sense. All of the Jedi seemed to form one anyways to a person, romantically or in friendship but even to an idea. Things we are attached to give us motivation to go on. What would have made more sense and avoided a lot of problems was a teaching against becoming so attached that you're obsessed and it consumes your life.

@alexandria2243 Anakin really should have been told by Obi-Wan or another Jedi Master that attachments can be good but just don't go too far into obsession or it would consume him but sadly no jedi told him that and look where that got him and everyone else. I mean the Jedi Council and Obi-Wan must have forgotten that Anakin likes to build attachments be it romantic, friendship and familial ones, he viewed Obi-Wan as a father even though Obi-Wan viewed him like a brother until Anakin viewed Palpatine as a father even though Palpatine found a way to force himself as the father figure, he viewed Ahsoka like a little sister and Rex as a brother. If attachments are wrong to the jedi then why do they form familial attachments to each other as all the jedi view each other as brothers and sisters and most of them view their clones as brothers and vest friends. But yeah someone in the Jedi temple should have told him that yes you can have attachments just don't get obsessed that it will dictate your life, which we have seen Anakin do during the Clone Wars when he got angry at Rush trying to steal his wife even though Padmé has told Anakin that her relationship with Rush was way into the past

If only Anakin had opened his eyes and see the game Palpatine was playin the whole time. Order 66 would have never happened and the Jedi Order would still be standing right now and Mace windu would have killed Palpatine if it wasn't for Anakin's interference.

The funniest thing about this is that if Anakin remembered that he was THE CHOSEN ONE and if he remembered being on the force planet in the Clone wars series and brought Ahsoka back to life using the force, then he honestly wouldn’t have cared about saving Palpatine and probably would’ve killed him on the spot after finding out Palpatine is Darth Sidious.

I know there's only so much you can show in a 180 minute film, but Anakins fall should have been more akin to Walter White. Something more gradual which chipped away at his conscience. We never needed to see him murder children, if anything he should have tried to hide them or helped them escape. Hunting down and destroying the Jedi knights should have been more like one at a time, believing imperial propaganda and just following orders. We should have seen sparks of good within him despite how evil he became. When as Darth Vader he tells Luke that it's too late for him, we should have seen such an immense weight behind that sentiment.

The movie is unbalanced. The last half hour is rushed where all the interesting stuff happens. Indeed Anakin transition is way too rushed; shortly before the transition he betrays Palpatine and 5 minutes later (int he movie) he joins him.

In Star Wars, some say that while he was sleeping, Palpatine may have injected a force vision of Padmé's death into Anakin Skywalker's head. This would be a clever move, as Snoke was able to use the Force to communicate with Kylo Ren and Rey, so it's not impossible for Palpatine to do the same.

He definitely was. He was too blinded by his own emotions. His mistake was getting involved in a romantic relationship with Padme when the Jedi Order is strictly against attachments and for good reason. It may have seemed like a stupid rule of the Jedi but it would have prevented Anakin from falling to the Dark side.
