Yeah, you have to be able to box in kickboxing as kicks will only get you so far. He was the world champ for a while so he has to have at least some boxing skills, about only thing that changes is when you go to boxing from kickboxing you can have longer stance cause no leg/body kicks, which makes it a lot easier to slip and move without being off balance, hence why his boxing now looks better than it does when he fights a kickboxing fight, cause it's a lot more awkward to get that head/torso movement in without leaving yourself vulnerable in kickboxing.

He works security at public transport company, in other words not a worldbeater by any means.
@theriptide70829 ай бұрын
I get the hole chin up on a platter thing but its a stylistic choice that he makes work with good distance management foot work and reactions, lots of fighters have peculiar styles but if they work they work, I also explained why this style is pretty synonymous with kickboxing ruleset and why it changes when he fights boxing ruleset as every fighter does, since you can't fight the same in every ruleset for obvious reasons if you read my earlier reply, now your story could be true, but he was world champ for a while and his at least later fights display a good fighter, if he lost some fights earlier in his career it wouldn't really discredit any skill, just means that the skill was earned@@valvevac-systemchecker3773

Wade itd be sick to see some content about the Haney vs Prograis fight on whether its on The Wade Concept or The Breakdown, been a pretty good buildup so far. Also the Joshua vs Wallin fight w the massive card behind it. Im fairly confident that Otto Wallin could upset Anthony Joshua, Wallin is very underrated and avoided in the HW division after his fight with Fury and hes working with arguably one of the best boxing trainers on the scene former world champion Joey Gamache. One of the main reasons I believe that Otto Wallin could defeat Joshua is because Joshua is at a part of his career where hes 2-1 in his last three and is going to be faced against a 6’6 Southpaw that if he was born a thousand years earlier hed be raiding England. Why i bringup Gamache being his trainer is because Gamache’s (55-4) style was about making angles and being a crafty fighter. Otto Wallin is similar to him in that regard and not to mention Wallins last fight was a Rocky 4 style fight in Russia. I believe that Joshua may have to walk through fire to win this fight because Wallin has proven to put fighters in that position, not just cab drivers off the street but he nearly beat Tyson Fury. but the question is can Anthony Joshua do what Tyson Fury did? We’ll find out December 23rd.

Joshua had wallin as his sparring partner earlier. Also both of them fought twice in the amateurs. Sure Aj isn't on that winner mentality right now, but i think he's being picked so that Aj could push the ranks for the IBF title. So i personally don't think wallin could win, in my opinion brother

@@danielej5856 thats a good take, and you are probably right about the reason for the matchmaking, my primary concern for Joshua is how hes been bouncing around trainers and Otto Wallin has stuck to his trainer for over a decade, im curious to see how AJ and his corner do when put in a dangerous situation like for example if Joshua absorbed a cut like Fury did against Wallin does he fight through it? And same could be said for Otto Wallin.

The heel thing comes from Muay Thai camps. Although I've never seen ink used, when they train kids to do basic footwork drills (Yang Song Kum) they rub chalk on their heels and if the outline appears on the ground they get a caning to the calf from the Kru (teacher). I wonder if Tate ever trained in Thailand? Either way, it shows how his insight into boxing is heavily influenced from the Muay Thai/Kickboxing world.

@TheSickjits9 ай бұрын
Also; Everybody has different styles and is taught differently... I train with two old school samoan heavyweights as my coaches. They've told me to stay off my heels multiple times. It creates more friction for defensive movements and ranging. There's also quicker pivots and wind ups with your heels off the floor. I started with Karate so this isn't an issue for me. However as I've gotten older and fatter, I definitely move a WHOLE LOT less then my younger days, and part of that is like you said, I've developed the upper body defense to be able to be flat footed and still not take shots. Typically the only time they want me flat footed is when I'm sitting down on punches. There's no wrong or right way to do it, only the way that works better for your body.
