Everyone saying that they did it for Boseman meaning that i'd be an Emotional Conclusion to the Ceremony only for Hopkins to win. It hurts to think that they did it just to bait People into seeing the Show. So not only they were Disrespectful in the In Memorian Segment by Rushing through it, but they tried to Emotionally Trick Audiences into watching them. At least he was right at the End of the In Memorian Segment with Sean Connery, and Hopkins did called a tribute in this Late Aceptance Speech. No wonder why the Ratings tanked.

The Academy goofed by changing the order of the awards. The media further drummed up expectations Boseman was bound to win. Yet there have been previous posthumous Oscar nominees who did not win- the quality of performance, not having died, must surely be the right criteria. Once voters saw Hopkins' performance no doubt many thought he genuinely deserved the award. And why should he not? The media now are making a mountain out of it- but there should be no outrage, only respect for Hopkins as well as Boseman. Oh and by the way, Hopkins is also a talented music composer- see And the Waltz Goes On videos

Hopkins simply gave the better performance and if you can't handle it, then don't watch the Oscars. You don't give an Oscar to someone just because they died. You give it to the best performance. My mother died from dementia after a 14 year struggle with the disease. Hopkins nailed the role perfectly and I saw so many things displayed by him that a dementia patient suffers from. Boseman won the Screen Actors Guild Award which many say is MORE prestigious than the Oscar.
