Were you forbidden to talk to him because he was autistic and it would make him uncomfortable or because of his status as a celebrity? I'm genuinely curious =)
@kinkane55663 жыл бұрын
@@andallthatjazz5796 Most likely the latter as the business wants him to feel comfortable to dine in their establishment without fear of getting harassed by fans. It sounds strange but sometimes this level of actor just wants to be able to go to a restaurant without any fuss over who he is. The restaurant knows this so they institute a rule of "no talking to the actor", good on him however for still being friendly. What a gentleman, if only the rest of us would aspire to be like Sir Anthony Hopkins.

The audience reaction was based on four things: “Silence of the Lambs” cleaning up at the Oscars - rare for a horror/thriller; a Best Actor award for a 16-minute performance; the film had been released earlier in the year when they are often forgotten come Oscar time; and the sheer greatness of Anthony Hopkins. It really is one of the great film performances ever.

I have seen The Silence of the Lambs dozens of times.... Every frame, lighting, movement, pacing, set up, is impeccable....Johnathan Demme pulled off a virtuoso performance in every department it is jaw dropping. The way he has made each actor bloom in every frame is a testament to what human mind and civilisation is all about....

My grandparents met him in London, outside a bookstore. My nan walked pass, didn't notice till my grandpa, said do you know who just walked past. He said Anthony Hopkins! She was so excited met him, as she's a fan. Said he was down to earth, normal, friendly, really nice gentlemen. Talked about South Wales, as she was from Maesteg & asked for autograph he gave one on a cheque book. When they thought about it, even said would of had tea with them, cause genuine nice person.

It's a testament to his powerful performance that even with only 24 minutes of screen time, his presence hung over every scene and he stole the film. Foster was brilliant too. Such a masterpiece.

Ted Levine stole the show Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster just played typical Hopkins and foster with little to no deviation from their other characters very overrated actors limited by their accents that makes each and every character the same so quit lying because Ted the only one who deserved an award

@@bobbyjoeyoung2becausesteph194 Preposterous comment. Limited by their accents? Levine was a wonderful Jame Gumb, but Hopkins' Lecter is unsurpassed and dazzlingly multifaceted, a very complex performance in which not a single gesture or glance was wasted. His presence was enormous

Great movie. The best thriller I`ve ever seen in my cinemaholic life. And every moment of Dr. Hannibal Lecter on screen is PRICELESS. His mind game with a young FBI trainee, his voice, his eyes, his gestures and hints. And that moment when he carefully strokes Clarice`s finger handing Buffalo Bill`s profile through the bars - OH. MY. GOD. The most sensual touch I`ve seen. And all these would be much less powerful if someone else was casted. Sir Anthony, you are THE BEST. Period.
