Why Are Cars So BIG Now?

Cars have gotten HUGE over the last couple of decades. Is there any hope for small car lovers? #BigCars #SmallCars #SUVs #Trucks

Sir I simply must disagree with you on this matter of cars are bigger now. I have never really got out and measured. But I doubt if the Cadillac Escalade is any wider than let’s say any 60’s or early 70’s Cadillac Deville. You are right about the cafe standards. But America has not provided a “family” car in many years. SUV’s do not make up for bench seats. And by the time you get to the 3rd row seating. You best pick someone that you know very well. Because you’re going to by the end of the trip. Granted today’s cars are so much safer and will last longer ( with a few exceptions) than what was produced 30 years ago. But they will never compare to the stylings of the 50’s -70’s. It really took a nose dive when they went to the European look. No chrome body color trim. And everything was the same color. No two tone anymore. Glad that I got to live through that era of cars and trucks. But it’s all just a matter of opinion 🤔

Eh I don't know any of that stuff you just said but I know this; vehicles have gotten huge lately. I commute an hour+ one way to work and I drive a 1998 pontiac, and I can definitely tell that the percentage of extra large, wide and long, vehicles has significantly increased.
