products that contain alcohol are very heavily taxed in finland so that's one product category that may seem expensive to someone coming from a country where that is not the case.

Finnish animal products like meat, dairy etc. are really good quality in general (our butter holds its own to KerryGold or French butter, having been exported for centuries for its quality). However, the vegetables are often flavorless and some fruits do not even ripe properly (they just rot while staying hard). Root veggies and onions are decent.
