Respectfully, wouldn't the hive, with the heat melting the combs, be better off with frames instead of just the criss-cross metal bars?
@ornerylurker82964 ай бұрын
No, not necessarily. More structural support is nice but by the exact same token there may be less empty space. Less empty said means less room for that air too flow. So without a blower like a fan the hotter air could get trapped and keep getting hotter. It’s a balancing act for hive design, and then entirely two thirds of it is out of one’s control left up to blind luck with the weather, and the bees themselves.

Is there a difference with bees in Europe and Asia? My uncle keeps bees in Germany and I always here people say where they are from. Is there a difference or are honey bees honey bees?
@darth39119 ай бұрын
Bees are different in region because they have different instincts and breeding history. European bees are breed for honey and been exported to most of the world. They are also responsible for killing off Americas native pollinators. African bees are famed for being very aggressive to the point of killing large animals and even humans. Personally I don’t know much of Asian bees but I do know they have the most predators and because of that they have more survival instincts than other bees.
