I’m a half hijab wearer. I know I need to stop and wear it correctly becuase it not only effects me as a Muslim but it effects the whole UMMAH which I’m gonna start wearing it correctly inshallah❤️to me it is a trend thing most of the people in my community are “half hijabers”😂 and they wanna look pretty whilst covering their beauty . The irony . But we need to change . As an ummah . Love how you opened up the convo ali 👏🏼👏🏼

The Brothers are also affected by it. They don't like to have a long beard, which the minimum is 👊 length. And MashAllah the brothers soon as they go to Yale University, they want to fit into the West and trim their beards significantly. They start trying to interpret the deen and claim as long as you think it's a beard, it's a beard. Even if it 1mil long. So sisters don't feel bad, the brothers are in the same boat, some like yourself acknowledge their mistakes, but then some try and twist the deen to fit their desires to fit in the West. So they will look for a minority view of a scholar, to approve their desires. Living in the West though I realised a funny thing. The beard started becoming trendy, I believe around the late 2018 period. And brother's that I thought would never grow their beards were starting to grow them, I mean full-grown beards. Strange isn't it? When it becomes western fashion then brothers start to grow it. It's a sickness in the Ummah. May Allah help us.

As a hijabi woman I agree hijab Influencers have for sure had an affect on other women not wearing hijab properly, or they wear a hijab with the TIGHTEST jeans and SHORTEST tops. Make it make sense?? And on top of that I’ve seen when ppl call out the influencers for not wearing correct hijab they just say only Allah can judge me and this is how I choose to show my faith etc etc. A lot of muslim women forget/ignore that it’s MANDATORY to wear hijab and is not supposed to be a choice. Literally seen sisters explaining to non muslims that hijab is a choice that’s why they don’t wear it In summary: you HAVE to wear hijab. It’s your CHOICE to disobey and not wear it.

I agree and I think the lady being interviewed is only complicating matters when it is that simple. She could be digging a hole for herself. From her arguments, it feels as if she is standing up for those women without hijab and fails to see the real issue behind why they are behaving in such a way regarding hijab. This women’s mindset is one of the reasons why men are retreating and choosing to look overseas for a decent wife who is conscious. The Muslim sister in fact should be grateful that the UK is softer on them and allows them to wear the hijab whenever they please.

@@kudrah I got the same vibe. Especially when she start attacking devout looking woman and saying they’re not so clean hearted on the inside. Did she think we wouldn’t spot that? I hear that Justification from improperly wearing hijabis or non hijabis all the time. They quote how they apparently saw some niqab wearing lady doing some haram stuff or had bad behaviour so then why should they wear it? What a stupid argument. Now both your attitude and your clothing sucks basically. Might as well fix one of you can.

@@linam1780 She is tricky. Fine she’s academic but having those qualifications doesn’t automatically qualify her for the questions she was asked but she acts like she’s the expert on the human mind in particular this field of discussion. Ali Dawah and most of us already know the answers that are in line with Islam and what non of us strives to do is imposing or forcing but advising and raising awareness in order to bring the consciousness to their senses…… To be honest there were moments in the discussion where I got annoyed by her responses, and I felt that she could mislead some sisters with her mindset…..

@@kudrah I feel like I just wasted several minutes of my life watching this. I was waiting for her answer Ali’s question but I didn’t see it. It's also confusing to see Muslim women, as this sister, wear the hijab but also wear #Makeup!!! The purpose of wearing the hijab and the modest cloth is to cover beauty; wearing makeup is exactly the opposite of covering beauty!!! Could use some explanation regarding that as well.

Ali - respectfully the reason why sisters don't like guys highlighting the hijab issue, is because men do not have to wear a hijab, yes they have a different hijab but it isn't the same as women. Therefore, you do not understand the struggle until you have to do it yourself. So it appears it's easier for men to comment when they don't have the same conditions. You can't pass judgment when you do not have to wear similar hijab conditions as women do. You are speaking on experiences, you do not experience.

It’s a current trend that I’m also seeing more and more. Social media is a massive influence. I think many of the younger Muslimahs seeing others wearing it like that think it okay to wear it like that because ‘everyone else is doing it’. Shaytaan is clever at corrupting our ways, whether it’s abayahs getting tighter, or men wearing cropped pants which are super tight, or hijabs moving further back. (Some girls actually start off wearing hijab like that now not knowing any better)

To add I do agree with the sister, everyone has their own struggles and journeys, but the power of influence is affecting the community, especially the social media obsessed generations and your right to say we should counter that.. it’s all well saying ‘you need learn about Allah, you need to learn about your deen.’ But truth is more needs to be done, to make that happen. Masjids need to engage the youth more, if they capture their hearts while they’re young they in’sha’Allah will know their creator better and stay in those friendships circles later on in life which will strengthen their resolve, and protect their imaan to a degree.

@OMAR - KM Agreed with you, removing the veil during occupation of North Africa was a way to desecrate our belief and submit local population to the French sense of "superiority". Moreover, it lasted by placing dictators and traitors such as Habib Bourguiba (Ex-president of Tunisia), King Hassan II of Morocco (France's favorite puppet). Algeria is kind of different because Islam is still very respected as Sharia law is partially applied but the youth have embraced liberal values and western way of life, which leads them to ruin and to risking their lives by crossing the Mediterranean sea in search of a more radiant future (complete BS).

Allah says in the Quran about how both the leaders and those who followed them(in evil) both will be in Jahannam, May Allah protect us all from it. I'm not saying any particular person is going to Jahannam, what I'm saying is that we are all responsible for our own actions, don't follow blindly. You can't accuse someone else on Judgment Day that they misled you when you knew it was wrong yourself. I'm not going to lie, as a Muslim sister the temptation is real. But reminders about following your deen is becoming a trendy thing in which you shouldn't be told to do anything you should just be doing it whenever you feel it is right. @@streetzboxa yea that’s why I don’t agree with slowing her on video. Even if I know many people don’t take the same view of wearing niqab, I think when it’s on camera it’s a different matter because once something goes on the internet then it never goes away. A woman also has less control once her photo or video is on a public platform. I have heard of so many stories where perverted men take the pictures and adulter it and post it on vile sites. Why should we expose our sisters to that risk? It’s not worth it. So I believe even if people don’t find niqab wajib, on screen they should wear it to protect themselves from these things at least. This conversation was very interesting and a very important one. It is long overdue as the Muslim community needs to talk more about men’s hijab and men’s modesty. Our scholars need to talk about it not just in classes but in the Friday jumuah khutbah. Our parents and teachers need to educate and encourage proper hijab (and adab) in boy children and male teens so that they grow up to be modest mindful Muslim men! Honestly this topic is controversial, I feel myself that these girls who wear half hijab are trying their best or maybe on a journey to wearing full hijab. As for muslim men you do not how hard it is to hold on to your deen in this kind of generation and conquer your nafs. For muslim men, they do not even consider the fact that many other muslim young brothers are being with girls who do or don’t wear hijab and doing haraam and makruh things. But of course, men just like to look at what the sisters are doing and criticise them. Would you rather she take the hijab fully off? You do not know the sisters full story behind her hijab and the battles with our nafs and the desires. Also girls who wear makeup, they might not be doing it for attention but for confidence. They might feel more confident with it on, and it enables them to feel better about themselves. As for the sisters who don’t dress modestly, i agree they should wear more loose/modest clothes instead of tight clothes because it does set a representation of women in islam but why is there such an obsession with the ways women wear hijab? There is also a lack of attention to the men’s problems, why is this? I think that; -hijabi influencers should try their best to be modest as possible -men should not criticise, this only weakens the woman’s confidence and makes her doubt her imaan. -try to be supportive, wether you are a muslim sister or brother -ADVISE not criticise -start paying attention to muslims brothers problems too -Muslim men honestly cannot fully comment on this topic they do not know what it is like to wear hijab, most of them do not even stick to their own hijab. Thanks for reading.

One time however while going to the mosque a random brother came up to my sister and I and said “astaghfirullah sisters you should be covering your head” etc. Lol. Even though what he did may have come off a bit of a pretentious or rude way of giving dawah to many people, my sister and I didn’t lash out. He was right, we were ignorant. The message also doesn’t change suddenly because of how it was delivered. We just told him to pray for us that Allah make it easy for us to have the courage to wear it. I disagree with sister Fatima, I don't really think you have to be professionally trained in order to advise a person who you don't know, especially when it comes to the deen. It's our job to advice one another as Muslims, the Prophet Muhammad (saw) said that the religion is advice and Allah said in the Quran that we are the best nation produced as an example to mankind BECAUSE we enjoin the good and forbid the evil. I think that one of the reasons why some Muslims get triggered when you advise them on the sin that they are committing is because they automatically take it as an insult and think you have a holier-than-thou mentality or you're looking down on them (even if you aren't). I think it also may be a result of adapting the ways of the West. The West is very individualistic, and many people are only concerned about themselves, whereas, Islam teaches us to bring each other up so that we can flourish together. Also, Hijab IS an obligation and not a choice.

I just simply do not understand the OBSESSION surrounding women's hijab. We're actually criticizing muslim women who are wearing the headscarf with some hair showing? How about instead of seeing it as GASP! She's not covering half her hair!! You see it like oh alhumdulillah at least she's covering half her hair. Do these criticizers have any idea how hard it can be to conquer the nafs? And for a lot of girls and women growing up and living in our current fitna filled environment observing proper physical hijab is a challenge and journey. Maybe the half hijab is part of that journey to a full hijab or maybe that's where she stays but with the best of intentions. How can you criticize someone who's trying?? And What. About. Men's. Hijab. How many men are wearing jeans that are too tight. Shirts that are too short. And not that it's part of hijab but what about that skin fade? Isnt that haram? Isnt that them being influenced by the western standard of good looks and style? Muslim men barely ever address these things that are to do with their OWN gender. Muslim men who constantly criticize women for the physical hijab need to be kinder to their sisters and find another topic to obsess about. All that being said, I'm glad to see an articulate sister in this video speaking for sisters. So thank you brother Ali for recognizing that need.

In my large family some wear hijab, some wear Niqab, some wear salwar kameez, some wear jeans and long shirt, some wear track suits, everyone prays 5 times a day, respects eachother and has no judgement of others. Men need to stop staring at sisters and quit judging. Judge yourself not others.

its true men shouldnt be judging them but acceptance of a sin is also not good. I agree 5 times prayer is key and it would help get rid of these bad habits but in this day and age with non muslims etc not covering is also asking for male attention regardless if muslim men are looking or not non muslims will be looking. You are exposing yourself to problems and if dressing in a very unmodest manner will bring lots of male attention which will negatively effect the sisters long run even if they are praying as they are disobeying allah. Patience is best but dont conflict this with thinking its okay as this would make people not change and stick to there ways.

As a Muslim women, the only time I took off my Hijab was that I was married to a Muslim man who was abusive, suppressive, and womanizing to me and there was no other way to get away from him (as I thought as a young woman). With that said, it took me 30 years to return to practicing Islam, because in my early days of learning about Islam, I was never taught properly about Islam. As an older woman, I had to ask myself questions about Islam, I had to learn how to follow my Creator, without everybody else’s (in Islam) judgement. Wearing the Hijab, I became more intense in understanding what Allah (SWT) desired from me as far as my life relates to Islam. I was blessed to be able to embrace Islam again in my life, I wanted to wear my Hijab as much as possible but more importantly I want to please Allah (SWT).

I think we can empathise with others for struggling while practicing their deen and encourage them when we see them trying , but the truth is, many women follow these trends set by influencers because they think they'll look attractive even if it means they they are not wearing their hijab properly or covering their body properly. They make these decisions actively and understand what they're doing. And that is what's extremely frustrating. This has become the elephant in the room that no one has touched on. Islam doesn't teach us to step on egg shells around people, especially concerning such an important topic as hijab. I am so glad you brought this up brother Ali, thank you because i have been waiting for someone to mention this for a while. It is such a big concern how quickly this trend has catched on and i really fear that young impressionable muslims are going to eventually just take it off because their hijab is truly just hanging on by a thin thread.

The sad part is many muslim women will dismiss it and influencers themselves claim they have no responsibility. If u are breaking the guidelines of hijab in ur own time, then thats ur personal sin... JazakAllahu khair. In all the hijab talk please do not forget the relationship of father and daughter. The security, love, respect and guidance from our fathers and elder male relatives has a vast influence on self-esteem and emotional well-being. Understanding our relationship with Allah SWT through the Quran, the psycho spiritual model and the process self-actualisation are all essential in the early years. The stronger these relationships are the less likely that negative outside behaviours enter. It's easy to get caught up in the manipulation of a capitalistic society which promotes physical exposure for male attention. Choose good friends, limit exposure to media and focus on personal development. As a mature Muslimah I have witnessed and experienced life in the UK as a practising person. The pressures, the need to fit in, societies expectations, Islamophobic abuse etc. It's a struggle however, ultimately knowing Allah SWT and strengthing my connection with Him was my saving grace. May Allah SWT grant us goodness Ameen

@@bananarahman6637 maybe it would be better if men gently refused to marry non hijabi women. It seems like knowing how to cook makes a man choose a wife more than wearing hijab. If wearing hijab got in the way of marriage (socially/culturally), both muslim men and women would naturally do more research into the importance of hijab and women would strive to wear it. Also, it is too risky to rely on the husband to encourage the wife to wear it because he may fail. if they have a daughter she will most likely not wear a hijab if her mum doesnt, and if the woman has sons, he will be more likely to marry a non hijabi as hijab is not normalised in his household. I fell in love with the idea of wearing a hijab & niqab at the age of 7 or 8. ☺️ I remember trying on the scarf that came with my abaya (for Madressa/Mosque)…I used to think about growing up and one day wearing it. I wore it a bit at elementary school and high school when I was in grade 7. But I didn’t continue because it got too hot and it kept slipping off (I had used a 🧷)…and I felt like people thought stuff…but many years later, because my hair started thinning…I started to think it would’ve been way better to wear a hijab, I wouldn’t be struggling to do my hair. SubhanAllah I was procrastinating whether to wear a hijab when my mother came to me and told me that I should wear it. Alhumdulillah I’m really happy that Allah helped in my decision. 🥰 InshaAllah I would like to wear niqab, my mother is a little on the no side…😢 but I love the feeling I get when I tried on a makeshift niqab! She mentions the importance of Islamic etiquette and the thought process she herself went through as there are many ramifications to covering depending upon one’s location in the world. Brother Ali, I like your videos, but I must say that of all the topics, I feel there are more pressing issues than whether a woman has some hair showing when she covers. But as far as this issue, I think that the best way to encourage a Muslim woman to cover is by example, and to encourage men who are somehow bothered by a little hair showing, to lower their gaze some more. If your wife covers all her hair, then just be thankful for that. May Allah swt guide us all.

Alhamdulliah for this video, we need more sister coming out to give dawah to Ali dawah who so badly needs dawah. And maybe he can learn something after this. Also can someone remind him dawah starts from home. Hope his working on his own family first.

This is a very insightful and interesting video. Brother Ali, first of all I think any brother who approaches matters like these the way you do, should have every right to express and voice their opinions and the truth. Nowadays the hijabi/muslim youtubers are promoting these half hijab trends and this is very infleuential to young girls. Your videos can have just the same amount of impact the the half hijabi youtubers do and then people who are more impressionable for example people who have limited knowledge of islam or younger girls will realise that what you are saying is the truth. I think the only way you will be successful in this is if you carry on in this calm and respectful manner. The fact that you address both brothers and sisters shows you are a fair and knowledgable person who is not just "attacking" women. Sister Fahima raised some really interesting points and I agree with all the points raised. I am just like sister Fahima too raised the importance of Salah and Quran on a daily basis. People shouldn't be put off reading salah if they cannot fulfil all 5 prayers. It is a process. You have to start somewhere and inshallah in no time they will become more and more consistent. This was a very good talk. Mashallah.

@here And always Yes, the reason the previous generations were a more flourishing Muslim nation was because they held on to the religion. The Prophet (عليه الصلاة والسلام)(PBUH) said "Islam came as a strange thing, and it will return to being seen as strange, so glad tidings to the strangers." If you look at us now, we are not being like strangers, we are trying to fit in.

I used to wear the hijab with some of my hair showing, that is because thats how we were bought up, we just wore it as a means of respect infront of our fathers, brothers, uncles etc and we didnt have to cover the hair fully as they were our mahram. So that just became same feeling outdoors, and we wernt told by our parents that this is wrong as our mothers and many people in our area wore it like this. I still felt i was looked at respectfully compared to many girls in our area didnt wear the hijab at all. But now educating myself, i have started to cover all my hair but it was difficult because i used to feel unattractive.

I was thinking the same SubhanAllah. Surprised Ali brought her into the channel. I don’t think I learned anything new or revolutionary from her. All she mentioned was that mentally ill people may not be in a position to receive dawah. Like who is doubting that? We already know Allah lifts the pen from some people. We are talking about a general issue where people are not doing proper hijab. It should be discussed for the greater good. We shouldn’t stop just because one or two people who want to disobey can’t handle it like what is going on?

This conversation is filled with so many good points but the lesson to take away is to CONNECT with the ALLAH, the Creator, and connect with the QURAN (by reading it and trying to understand it). We need to be mindful of our TAQWA and work to cultivate it. Don’t let culture and social media pressure us into becoming stagnant about our faith. BECOMING a BETTER MUSLIM requires active and continuous EFFORT. CHANGE in our life can only come through active effort based on the WILLINGNESS and the INTENTION to want to change for the better. It will not be easy but with consistent and mindful effort over time change will happen. We have to be willing to educate ourselves. At the end of the day the issue of the state of one’s hijab, whether man or woman, is a sensitive one. So, rather than judge or suppose the intention of others, all we can do is to hope and pray that the person is not only aware of the issue of his/her state of hijab but wants to and is willing to change. Make dua for them, don’t criticize them. May Allah help us all to become better persons. Aameen.

Hijab rules: Covers all your hair, covers your chest, clothes are wide, no trousers, nothing which is tight to your body, transparent clothes are not allowed, no make up, no fake lashes, no parfume, no lipstick. Allah gave us hijab to protect us. ❤
