Fellow Catholic here in San Francisco 🌉, USA 🇺🇸. I notice the trend in the Hollywood equivalent in Indonesia 🇮🇩. A number of actors leave Islam ☪️ and become Catholic Church ⛪. I noticed this last year, 2023, while I traveled in Singapore 🇸🇬.

@JayAruga Maligayang Pasko! (I am learning Tagalog.) I was recently in The Philippines 🇵🇭 in 2022. Being a cradle Catholic who lives among Filipinos, Latinos, Italians and Irish, I am disappointed 😞 when any of them leave, especially joining a non Christian religion. (Warning ⚠️ My rant 😡 ahead.) Ex. 1 area just south of Metro Manila was 90+ % Catholic when I was there in the 1980s. 😎 Fast forward to 2024. Now closer to 60%: Iglesia ni Kristo, indie Protestant churches and Islam ☪️ centers pop up like weeds there. 🙄

@WineSippingCowboy I think there needs to be some work in evangelization on those regions. Many conversions from Catholicism happen pre-internet times because it's hard to find answers. Now that we're in the internet era, it's time to win them back.

@@pamelahermano9298 some years ago, people left religion. In recent times, they seem to be coming back. The news that I shared are from 2023-2024. I pray that the momentum continues.

Most people converted to Catholicism for the sole purpose of pragmatism. I mean in that short clip with WLC, explaining on why he's not a Catholic. I'm very intrigued by their conversation. WLC is a theologian and a philosopher. He wants to champion something in common among catholics and other church denominations. He's no way in that clip explaining on beauty of becoming catholic nor believes in catholic doctrine nor mary being immaculate. I don't think that most people who are converted have the reason like beauty, truth, traditions anymore that they have a "in group feel". The target are the children, the gullible adolescence, and some feeble-minded citizens. If you look closely, most that were converted are children. Less than any adult is. The conversion is a movement in a sense, the church exercises how authoritative and monopolizing they can be. Like most practical fictions, it's a social phenomenon. What's the definition of truth in a catholic lens? That there's one God or a trinity? Is Jesus subordinate than the Father? Does christianity now in the 21st century holds workable truth behind the origins/story of the universe? I don't agree on the saying that the Church is a hospital for sinners. I mean what does the hospital do? Treat patients right? Doctors used the method of lesser evil rather than "curing" them. You are neither treated nor ma didischarge sa instituion. You are admitted for the rest of your life and never being discharged from that hospital, rather the institution.
