Honestly I really liked your videos up until now so I was super excited about this one since I stanned Fifty fifty since their debut days. I watched the video until the end and have a few things to say and criticize. I really hope you and other people read through it until the end and hear me out aswell. First of all I really didn’t like how you downplayed their health issues. Rather than asking what more could the company do about their health issues the question should be how it could get to the point of developing these health issues under the company in the first place. Also I think it‘s very unfair to point out how it was Aran‘s own choice to postpone it (so basically giving her the complete fault for it) completely ignoring the pressure the kpop industry puts on young girls. Either you keep up and debut or you‘re out as a trainee and you expect a young girl to make responsible decisions here? To be fair the parents are also to blame here but what i‘m trying to say is to just have a tunnel vision of this is not right. Besides that you left out a lot of things from court about Attrakt, which are definitely fishy as hell. For an example regarding the amount of money Attrakt supposedly borrowed to fund fiftyfifty from Starcrew (yes he borrowed money and no he in fact did not sell his car). These were addressed on the SBS UNANSWERED QUESTIONS episode on fiftyfifty. Would‘ve also liked if you had mentioned this. Unfortunately they did not make a follow up episode due to the members going through psychological distress to the point of contemplating sui*ide. SBS also suggested that the backlash for the first episode comes from ppl suddenly being contradicted in their views because at that point attrakts mediaplay went genuinely crazy. Also I want to say something about keena. She revealed pretty early on that she is the money maker for her family, she has been working multiple jobs since she was 14 living alone in seoul. After Attrakt threatened to file a lawsuit with a big fine she probably knew she or her family could not pay it and went back. I‘m not saying its the only reason but i think you should also keep her background and family situation in mind. Another point I would‘ve liked for you to mention is that the member specifically said they cut contact with The Givers and have repeatedly emphasized that they filed the provisional injuction lawsuit on their own voliotion. Additionally another important aspect was the leaked phone call between the the givers ceo and keena‘s dad which just further proved how the givers attempted to manipulate the girls and their families. Honestly there‘s so much more like for an example company employees going to aran‘s place and terrorising her mid the lawsuit and much more stuff you just did not mention. All in all it seems for me that you used korean sources primarily which I‘m very disappointed in. This does not feel neutral at all and lacks many important aspects especially the ones against attrakt. For me personally this video just seems like the perfect result of the company’s media play and it makes me really sad that it works so well. I hope people don‘t take this video to form an opinion on the whole situation. I wish the best for every single member. If you want to know more about what was said against attrakt (like the borrowed money that ends up not making sense) I encourage you to read this good researched thread on twt with documents, video clips etc etc. x.com/fightforfifi/status/1806559767105863956?s=46 And this thread which talks about attrakts questionable behavior like the CEO Jeon Hongjoon lying to investors, contradictory statements etc. x.com/fightforfifi/status/1815041455553155507?s=46 Btw. the court is continuing with the main lawsuit on the 29th of this month.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this information down for me, I really appreciate it. I was unaware of the fishy behaviour by ATTRAKT and tbh I was way in over my head while making this video. There are clearly many things that I missed here and I’m so sorry that I didn’t do the topic justice. I usually avoid these kinds of very serious topics because I’m aware of the responsibility involved with it. Which is why I tried to back up my points with screenshots. And said that I’m not trying to tell the viewer how to feel about the situation. The reason I used mostly Korean sources was because the situation took place in Korea so I believe Korean reporters would have the most insider information and I tried to avoid mistranslations as much as I could. I showed Arans statement on the screen while I was talking (not good for the audio listeners so I’ll take that criticism and do better next time) but it doesn’t shock me that people were at her door when she walked out on a contract with (from what I’ve seen) no warning. I really hope I did not convey the situation as one size fits all and capture the nuance of it all. It’s not easy to say who’s right and who’s wrong in my opinion and I really struggled to formulate myself in this video because of that, I’m sorry if that has disappointed you, it’s sad to hear that from a viewer. The reason the video lacked many aspects was because I believed that so many people were already talking deeply about the members sides and not much about the company. The reason I focused on Aran stating that she “chose to push back her surgery” is strictly because of the narrative being pushed on tiktok that she was forced to, of which we have 0 evidence for. It’s weird to say we should listen to the members, but then go on to ignore their own statements. She said “I chose to take the risk”. The frustration came from people insisting the company forced her to not undergo treatment along with another member who had anxiety. Of which she was already receiving help from a psychiatrist. I still stand by the fact that there’s not much the company could’ve done to better support them considering they were falling unwell at a time where as a small company they needed to be promoting. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t empathise with the girls. As I said this video is mostly to debunk the falsehoods being spread by netizens, not the girls themselves. It’s not their fault people took their statements and paraphrased it in a way that was just not really true. Again, I’m sorry if this video disappointed you and I hope I articulated myself well enough in this response. Have a lovely night 💕

@@Natasha.Louisee thank you for reading my comment! I understand & thanks again for taking the criticism. As I mentioned there‘s so much more about Attrakt that‘s just super weird even the ceo himself being caught following 🌽 accounts of „freshly turned 18“ girls … you really had to be there to experience the immense mediaplay at that time. Even now weird things happening for an example allegedly the 3 members have opened their instagram accounts and news outlets in korea immediately posting abt it (it ofc had a negative reaction from knetz), then it gets exposed for being fake and literally like 2 days later it gets announced that the 3 members are redebuting & the accounts are gone. Now another article stating that the stocks of iok company (the one that‘s gonna redebut the 3 members) have fallen since the announcement which again was proofed to be wrong. Really this is just my personal opinion but there‘s definitely something going on. Could you maybe pin my comment so people can at least know about these things and also get to the threads that explain the lawsuit very well for every involved party? It would mean a lot. Have a good night!

@@Natasha.Louisee Why are you letting her gaslight you first and foremost? Parents are the first line of defense in any case regarding a child's care. What matters is if the company accommodated their disabilities which the court ruled they accommodated them they best that they could w/o removing them from the environment. Attrakt was incredibly progressive with how they handled basically disabled individuals. More than what any Korean, or American company could have. The relying upon, "They were sick" takes away from the struggle that many disable people suffer to have adequate work conditions. If they were not being accommodated correctly, it was because The Givers made sure to run interference, that is clear. The company had meetings monthly with the talent, at that point, I'm sure if anyone was feeling unwell and flunked their evaluations then it would have been asked. Part of the reason a lot of people are mad is because of the probing the company did after the fact--yet they ask the company why didn't they probe the talent more before hand? Like which way do you all want it? The SBS show UNANSWERED QUESTIONS got pulled from showing ever again because MANY people wrote in from all walks of entertainment to report that their "experts" couldn't even speak on standard contract correctly as well as had no testimony from the CEO of Attrakt. Korea Broadcasting companies have an obligation to report unbaisedly during an ongoing court case and UNANSWERED QUESTIONS failed to do so. Even a KBS figure head wrote in to say what they were doing was a disgrace to unbiased reporting. There was going to be a Part ii to the FIfty Fifty incident by that same show, But due to Keena telling the show to withdrawl her testimony, Part ii could not air anyways. The account that this person link you too, Fight for Fifi, is not fluent in Korean and translated the documents BY THEMSELVES, resulting in the mistranslated and misinformation that we are all fighting so desperately against. They never speak on The Givers being sent to the procession for embezzlement, or the fact that The Givers CEO's education was faked. They keep repeating the words from the now deleted Televsioin show UNANSWERED QUESTIONS as the fact because they are clearly easily influenced by media. I think you are old enough to know when somebody is talking out of their butt to try and use your emotions against you. You are not a bad person for saying, "Protecting yourself is pivotal, all the red flags were there why did you not do it?" It's clear that the parents were the failing building block in all of this, and yet, Keena's parents some how knew better? How did Keena's father know that he needed to start recording calls with The Givers CEO and he didn't need to record calls with The Attrakt CEO? Please don't turn away from your gut feeling because somebody wants to say "They were sick the company needed to do more." And had they done more and everyone still was sick, because TRUST ME, it happens all the time where you think you are getting better and you're not (me, actually) and you have to quit your job anyways. They would still get blamed. People are equating asking "How did this happen?" As an attack, when it's a common question with answers. And that person you just pinned is telling half truths in hopes of finding an emotional vulnerability and they found it. I suggest, not being influenced so quickly and use your common sense. There *IS* a lot of stuff going on with this case, but this case isn't uncommon. If I could dumb this down for everyone to understand: It's like when somebody cheats in a relationship, and the two cheated on people fight each other instead of the person who cheated. Then the cheated on person, especially if they are a narcissists spins narratives from simple happenings to make you single out the victim they are they most angry at to take control of their image. In this case Attrakt is the target of a narcissist scammer. Attrakt may not be perfect but he who has not sinned cast the first stone. For the fact Attrakt waited, provided opportunities for a conversation minus the 3rd party, kept the court records closed to protect the former members reputation, says A LOT about how the company tried to accommodate for them. We got Disney out here trying not to pay for someone's wrongful death on their property by saying, "You bought a Disney + membership so like.. IF you die that's on you." LIKE LET'S ALL REALLY THINK HERE. They are making up "Almost died" to scare you, but people out here really dying on company time and are being negated to "You bout a subscription, TEEHEE Like TOS covers accidental death by us" Like girl, do not let these abled bodied people take over the narrative that the company didn't AT LEAST TRY. I've been through hell and highwater than to let abled bodied people start scaring the other abled bodied people with PULLED propaganda. Trust your gut. You know Keena's parents did. And they were the only people who realized something was wrong WITH THEIR CHILD, and ACTED UPON IT IMMEDIATELY. Because you see the moment their child was in danger? They mobilized. Everyone wants to say the former members were just children, so YEAH your Parents KINDA NEED TO DO SUMN. Let a mf throw away my home made kimchi? LET ALONE MY TUBBERWARE? I'm beating the breaks off them fr! For the fact they didn't and was like meh, whatever? GIRL WAKE UP!!! You are not responsible for those parents not moving heaven and earth to protect their child when they were supposed to, and you are not WRONG for even saying, eluding to, they were supposed to! And the "We filed it ourselves" is to protect the parents fyi as well as acknowledging they WERE given 3 choices. And they picked the wrong one. That is the TRUTH! Do not second guess it. Thank you for your time I'll amend typos later, I have MY OWN doctor's appointment to attend ETA: The fact they keep talking about UNANSWERED QUESTIONS, and YOU can't even go back to watch that episode speaks volumes. They are citing media you can't even go watch YOURSELF because it was pulled BY SOUTH KOREA, THEMSELVES, for being inflammatory and filled with misinformation as well as being biased. South Korea sometimes gets it wrong. But they got it so right with Loona (that's 12 SEPARATE cases), Omega X etc. We on court part iv rn. There is still an opportunity for Attrakt to lose because court can be unpredictable. However; what is true, is that Keena's PARENTS saw their child in danger and ACTED. That's all you need to gauge this situation and WHO exactly put their child's future in danger with propaganda

I side with the company because idols should be grateful they are given a chance 3. I will collect an as objective amount of information as possible before I type something up Peoples 1 and 2 are the loudest everytime. this really shows a cultural/political divide between inetz and knetz. inetz like to frame themselves as social activists who tend to think of the idols as helpless victims of the company and like using words such as "abusive" and "oppressive" to describe the situation. whereas knetz are generally more conservative and will see the idols as "spoiled" and "ungrateful." both perspectives are hopelessly biased

Thank you for this video. Initially, since I am in the international kpop sphere, I too was heavily on the girls side. But as I did my own research and read through the documents, I came to the conclusion that Attrakt was at fault in some instances (like not better supervising the Givers as the managed the girls and not providing better clarification of payments) but the rest, I think the blame goes to the Givers since they were primarily the ones that looked after and managed them (and eventually manipulated them and stole from Keena). I feel like the situations that were brought up to the CEO and direct Attrakt employees were handled okay for the most part. I don’t deny the mistreatment or pressures of the industry to push your body beyond what is reasonable but I think a lot of the blame is misplaced and Keena and the new 50/50 members are getting harassed because of this misplaced blame and frustration. Just my opinion after my research.

Some words for the people out there. Just stop blaming Attrakt. Attrakt's CEO isn't the villain and never was. People who had worked with him spoke out and said nothing but praises, even though they didn't succeed as an artist under his management. And there is so much more...... This mess almost ended his life. I'm not joking. The vast majority of people in Korea are supporting Attrakt's CEO and the new Fifty Fifty for a reason. It's an unusual thing people supporting an entertainment company. They never did before and Attrakt is the first ever happened. Do you really think the vast majority of Koreans, the judges know less or are misinformed about this tragedy? It was a big issue back then and a lot of people were concerned and have followed the story. There are a lot of news, articles, contents that covered the story. If someone sincerely cares about the group Fifty Fifty...... please take your time and do your own research PROPERLY before giving opinions, making noises. Thanks.

I was in the same place thought wise until I did more reading about the situation. I’m almost always on an idols side (and in some ways I still am), but reading more and more and actually looking at what the girls said I was swayed more and more to see how gray the issue really is. I can have empathy for the girls while also realizing they really bet on the wrong horse and lost hard. I don’t particularly like the ceo, but he doesn’t seem any worse than any other kpop company ceo. I would have to stop listening to all music if I boycotted shady companies run by creepy men. I see a lot of similarities in the og girls and New Jeans, where someone they trust implicitly essentially tries to take credit for your all of your success to the point you rely on them and will do anything for them, including break contracts that could potentially bankrupt you and your entire family. I hope the og girls and the new ones both find a lot of success, it’s a tough industry and both will have some rough times ahead.

Just look at how they’re hating on the new members when they’ve done nothing wrong. You can tell these comments didn’t do their research. The only thing I can fault attrakt for is not keeping a closer eye on the givers. Granted he was told the girls wanted to not see him, but he still should’ve kept a closer eye on the people managing them. Regarding 3Jeong I can’t help but feel ill towards them. I do feel bad about the punishment they received but hearing the things their parents said to Keena kinda rubs me the wrong way. Calling her a traitor and a backstabber all because she noticed she was getting her signature forged is not ok. It’s a shame people here are plugging their ears to the facts presented here to continue their narrative that attrakt is the main perpetrator. It reminds me of when everyone dog piled Garam and now that it came out that she’s innocent people aren’t wanting to admit they were wrong. You have a platform, and you need to use it responsibly. Because of your plethora of misinformation, several defenders of soliciters of evil behavior are getting a platform to speak, and spread misinformation. Accusing the girls of “betraying,” their ceo (who is evil), and saying that people who believe all companies are evil are “wrong.” This is perpetuating victim-blaming. - A disappointed viewer.
@Natasha.Louisee

I never said the girls betrayed their ceo. They have no obligation to do right by him. If they wanted to leave to better their career, I wouldn’t shame them for that. It’s important for the girls to put themselves first in a sea of company ceos who probably don’t care about them. And I also never said that people who believe all companies are evil are wrong. I just said it’s a lot easier to just make it a black and white “company bad girls good” than actually dig deep into both sides. Standing by the side of a company isn’t something I’ve ever done. Being objective and picking at both sides isn’t me siding with the ceo or even me feeling bad for the ceo. Me finding the members statements to be strange and contradictory isn’t me siding with the ceo, it’s me being sceptical of the givers. Of whom keena has already outed as the string pullers of this whole situation. “I’m not throwing a pity party for the ceo of ATTRAKT. If the company CEOs were on fire and I had a cup of water in my hand, I’d probably drink it”- my own words. People tell us to listen to the girls, to what they said in their statements, yet run around telling lies that the company forced their members to not undergo life saving surgery which I cited as my reasons for even making this video. I said the reason I made it was because of the lies being spread by the media, not by the girls. People are being gaslit by fans who haven’t even read the member statements. And the truth of the matter is, if you wanna boycott ATTRAKT, you can shove all of the other kpop companies in there too because the only actual claim from the girls was dieting

I always have to take the side of the girls that left cause there's no way the true "villain" of this whole mess is a bunch of young girls who just wanted to fulfill their dreams. Idol life is brutal and it was obvious with the various hiatuses the members took for their health. Now that they are in BILLIONS OF WON in debt along with that pos givers dude, I think we should give them a chance since their korean audience effectively turned their backs on them and sided with a company.

The girls suffered the unfortunate normalized treatment that a lot of companies often practice. I-netz and k-netz have always felt sorry for idols that brought up these issues YEARS into their debut and are often met with sympathy and tears. The 3 girls brought these issue up very early into their careers but were met with backlash where their complaints were often labeled as “this is normal”, “you’re spoiled”, “others had it worse”. Point is, their company is incompetent either ways, they couldn’t manage the girls properly nor manage the company that they hired that stabbed them in the back. They weren’t traitors, they jumped ship early but they unfortunately did not land on a lifeboat.

I just know the Givers profits from it rn are frozen bc of the pending lawsuit. Agreed, I’m not for either company. Because while The Givers were the abusers, Attrakt was negligent on keeping tabs on their talent which made an environment where they could do that. I just hope Attrakt had some internal reorganization so this doesn’t happen again. I agree that the Keena video was a bit much. I understand talking about it because it was a huge topic, esp in Korean media. I wish they highlighted more of how she said how she knows herself better. Something about completely villianizing the former members, villianizing the Artrakt, or giving full support to either the new members lineup (or recently, the former members) felt...weird. @@Natasha.Louisee I did! I think the only points that I have some contention with you on is about Aran's surgery, but only really in the way you got your point across (not the actual point itself). Here's what I mean: Many people in the comments are pointing out that she could've been pressured behind the scenes to delay her surgery, but I don't necessarily think that's true. Using myself as an example - I remember a time where I was so sick that I was approaching death's door myself, and I still showed up to work everyday. My superiors weren't pressuring me to go to work whatsoever. I was the one who chose to go to work, choosing to let my symptoms worsen overtime until I was so sick that I couldn't wait any longer. The pressure was entirely of my own making because I wanted to provide for myself and my family member, who was living with me at the time and couldn't provide for themselves. Without her explicitly stating pressure from the company, I really don't think there's a reason to infer that that happened. Based on her own words, she's the one who wanted to end her recovery. If it's anything pressuring her, it's toxic working culture that prioritizes making money to survive over the health and safety of the populace. Korea in particular also has a toxic work culture in general that also prioritizes face and reputation in addition to that. Aran is far from the only idol to choose to compromise their health for their idol career, and it's not necessarily the company's fault just because the situation is icky. I think the way you tried to word this point, however, was a bit too analytical, and fans won't get it. We can already see it in the comments. I do get your point though. Can't wait to see fans take this point out of context on Twitter though, lol 😅😂

I love hearing your take on it and getting the full story, but I do think you should look into the pressures of the Kpop industry because although she says she chose to come back early to work on the comeback the overall environment of the K-pop industry and being an idol or trainee puts a lot of pressure into not looking after yourself and I feel like that dynamic should be spoken about more (even though we cannot know for sure)

I have sympathy for the other three girls because even their parents were against them going back to Attrakt and maybe that solidified their stance of not giving up the lawsuit against the company. But one thing I don't is why didn't Attrakt ever official have a meeting with the Warner brothers Korea and why didn't they check over how the members were treated under "the givers" management. So many unanswered questions that will probably never get answered. Anyways my conspiracy theory for the boycott is that none of this people are actually fans of fifty fifty and seeing the strong line up of the re grouped members (Chanelle and Yewon being so loved by the viewers of the survival show) scares them that they have the potential to outdo their faves and repeat history? I know it's a stretch, but do you think they really care if the members were being mistreated or not? They just can't handle a "nugu" group outselling the big 3/hype groups. honestly, i am very happy to hear that chanelle is debuting even though it's with attrakt. i was kinda of upset with her decision, not bcz I'm not stanning but bcz of the 'higher' possibility of abuse happening. (i know that just bcz a company is exposed for abuse, doesn't mean that they are more likely to). i feel like people felt a sense of protection towards the former FF girls and so when new girls were announced, they were outraged that the company actually was replacing them. I just hope all the girls are safe and happy. I hope more that the fandom doesn't have infinity beef just because of the higher-ups.

I’d have to disagree. During the BBC suit, no one was on their side and it was 100% clear with no room for doubt that Chuu was innocent. I think a really important part you’re missing out on in your take is that Chuu and LOONA all had the courts on their side which was the reason they won their case. EDIT: I’ll update this in the future once things settle down. I’m curious to see how this will play out in the future. I myself didn’t really look too much into it and only saw the member statements as you shared earlier in the video. From what I know now, it certainly seems like there was some manipulation on the side of The Givers, so I don’t really blame the members for the initial lawsuit. On the topic of the original three members, I’m glad they are signed to a different company now; however, it will certainly not be easy for them now as their reputation has been ruined, and I’m not sure if bigger international support will be able to keep them afloat. As for the new Fifty Fifty lineup, I don’t blame Keena, nor do I blame the other girls from joining the lineup. Considering how they may only hear the positive Korean response, it makes sense that they would want to join, especially Chanelle and Yewon, who have fanbases from RUNext. I think that if the K-Pop industry wasn’t so ageist, that perhaps they may have chosen a different route as they would have options, but as they are 21 and 19 respectively, those are not as available to them as they would be to a younger trainee. I don’t believe it’s fair how Chanelle is taking a lot of the backlash, especially because she is from America and has a fan base, and I think the people who wish to boycott the company should direct their energy into promoting the other three original members instead of hating (they will likely need all the promotion they can get with how things are right now). I think that even if they changed the group name, that they would still get hate, and it makes more sense to keep it. Think about cases like T-ara and AOA, where they still kept their names even with scandals, although I do realize that they were more into their careers than Fifty Fifty is now. So yeah, that was my little rant. I’m going to try and stay neutral for now between the company and the members as this is still a developing case. Very curious to look back and see how this situation is in the future, and if the new members end up staying for their entire contracts or leaving like the original three did.

Same I originally wasn’t going to support bc I didn’t want to support abuse if there is any chance of it however I certainly wasn’t gonna hate or ridicule anyone that did decide to support ff 2.0 since the Koreans wanted this and I trusted their judgement over the international fans who can easily get manipulated or manipulated the situation based on their bias cultural lens’s on Korean culture as a whole. The Koreans know best and perhaps it’s questionable at best to outsiders but who are we to judge? If it’s such a problem international fans need to completely withdraw support from everything K-pop and focus on their own countries music industry. I’m also excited for Chanelle bc she was my favorite from ru next and I really want to see her debut and hear her voice once more and if the music is good I will casually listen and hope for the best. As you said time will tell and I’ll withdraw any support if more credible evidence of abuse does occur upon the new line up

Okay... I have a genuine question. Is Attrakt only suing the Givers and the parents of the Fifty Fifty members, or are the members themselves being sued for the entire quite frankly insane amount of money news publications are brandying about. I'm aware the members are being sued for breach of contract, but is that the same thing? Because that's a big nuance that I think would make or break my stance on this entire situation and whether to give a chance for the new Fifty Fifty when they debut. I agree though, whatever actually happened is clearly messy, and there doesn't seem to be a clear cut "bad side" in this (that we know of). The members were clearly used. It's just a sad story all around.

Thanks for a great video! As a international fan I have to say my opinion is pretty similar to yours. I don’t blame the 3J for their choices as they were young but I also don’t agree with the narrative that Attrackt is this horrible company. The CEO was trying to grow and expand his small company so he chose to focus on the business side while trusting the Givers with the girls management. But that’s literally the only complaint that I have about him. The CEO just seems like he trusted the wrong person and that was his biggest mistake. Other than that the Attrackt CEO sounds just like any other Kpop company CEO in the industry. He’s not an angel and probably still has questionable things about him, but he’s not a complete villain. There are other kpop CEOs that are questionable but don’t get boycotted. Also I keep seeing people being up his previous management of group Hotshot from when he was under Star Crew Entertainment. They make it seem like that is more “proof” behind his “poor” character but HotShot never seemed to have any problems with abuse. Their main problem was poor management which is hardly a problem that only they faced. Lastly I have to agree with some of the other commenters that have pointed this boycott as performative activism because that’s what it feels like. Knowing the history of IOK with Alice, the fact that the CEO was just given a prison sentencing and that the new CEO has quite the questionable legal background also is strange. People are Boycotting Attrackt for all these different reasons, but then they have already decided to support the 3J’s new company which has a bad history as well.

I think both the members and attrakt were in bad positions, both have some certain part of responsibility on all of this, but I think most of it falls on attrakt. The members sued attrakt because they had the contract with them, not with the givers. It’s was attrakt’s responsability to take care for the girls, they may have not been the ones mistreating them/not being transparent with the money, but they were the ones who hired the givers. The girls were manipulated, and signed up for things they didn’t want, but they did and should be held accountable, however, we have to remind ourselves they are still teenagers who were influenced to do bad decisions. The givers are “the bad ones” here, and should be the ones crucified, not the members or attrakt. Also, I want to say that even though the members could have had bad intentions with all of this, you should have not hated them that much, they are still young, and everyone makes mistakes, and with this horrible reaction you just set the future for many idols who are/will be mistreated and simply wont come out. I personally will not be standing fifty fifty since I believe the company didn’t manage the situation well and sued them for that much.

i'm generally going to be on the side of the idol in situations like these because these are point blank, cut and dry labor rights issues. south korea DOES NOT have a good track record with labor rights- for any industry, nevermind the entertainment industry which regularly employs minors. korean companies have many more protections than employees. i think representing the members conditions as just "not being 100% well" is insensitive 13:39. the ultimate question is whether or not the members were well enough to do the work required of them and whether or not the company should have intervened for their employees' overall safety. how old were the members, how long had they been training with attrakt at this point? the korean work culture of working yourself into poor health to "prove" yourself is toxic and i'm never going to defend it. i think ignoring the existing dynamics at play surrounding korean work culture and the utter lack of labor protections for the sake of "objectivity" isn't really that objective

I believe that the situation was greatly misrepresented by fans. I sited that as my reasoning for making the video. The girls said that the company forced them to go through with their activities even though they were unwell. However, many fans spread the narrative that the company was the reason they fell unwell. Which is not what the members were suing them for. You can call it insensitive, my mother is chronically sick, can barely walk some days and guess what? She still had to work because she was under contract at her work place. Every single person under contract has to try work regardless of illness and it reeks of privilege. It's not your god given right to be a kpop idol. The Job is a privilege in itself. These idols know what they're signing up for, the long hours, dieting and public appearances. That paired with the fact that Keena came out siting the givers as the reasoning for the lawsuit in the end just makes me less sympathetic to the members original statements and also my personal experiences and families experiences with employment. It's not 'work culture' it's called 'being under contract'. Normal people also have to work when they're sick, had surgery weeks ago heck even one of my colleges back when i worked at a supermarket had lung cancer yet she still had to work. These girls wanted to be idols and they loved it, they wanted to push themselves because they wanted to be idols, not because of pressure. You wouldn't try to be an idol if you didn't genuinely have a passion for it now would you

Personally, I don't think boycotting the new FIFTY FIFTY is a good idea. Most of these girls won't be able to debut again, especially the ex-RUNEXT and Keena. Considering how many legal battles have been going on, there are expenses and I'm sure the girls (ex-5050) need to pay it off somehow, but they've pretty much been blacklisted from the industry and most of the Korean public. I do think there were things done wrong on both sides of the party, with clear misdirection from the givers and bad guidance from those parents as well. I wish nothing but success for the girls, and not supporting them won't help them. Same with the RIIZE situation, I 100% want Seunghan back, but it's constantly putting the boys in misery every time they do an event, and have to be bombarded by pro-Seunghan fans. I'm split on this because I do want Seunghan back, but it really sours most of the experiences when people are boycotting their hard work because of another member. K-pop REALLY needs better management, with most of these companies just constantly in legal trouble or just plain bad at their job...
