I had an argument with my German cousin 30yrs ago about this very subject. I live in Australia. The German’s have a never again moto which is supposed to mean, Germany will never go down the Nazi path again. Especially with the extermination camps. My argument was that you can’t ignore atrocity when they occur in other countries just because you feel guilt about your past. The maturity of a country can be measured by how you stand up for the oppressed. I think it’s about time we get rid of the Vito powers in the UN.
