I lived 2 years in Perth. Had to leave in 2019 when my visa was up. My biggest regret is not trying harder to stay and get residency.

Housing crisis is pretty bad in Australia, as of 2021 122,494 people in Australia are experiencing homelessness. It might be worse now because cost of living has skyrocketed.

I was born in Australia and can understand why some Irish people would want to live here, because it's great. Yeah we have our problems, all countries do. But in general, I feel safe and happy here, and I get to experience other parts of the world close to my own house. I had Italian people living in the house on my right, Singaporeans on my left, with Indians and Africans across the street. This is just the start. Some of my school friends were Greek and Romanian, and my current friends include a Russian, and people from almost every Asian nation there is. We play cricket together, four kinds of football, and many other sports. Some of the best things with all these different people, are the festivals we enjoy. Food and culture from so many places, including of course, the Irish. 😁🍀

The weather, they speak English and it's easy enough for young Irish people to get a visa, as America no longer is an option due to it's strict visa rules

Property values in the big Australia cities are big. Where they are affordable there are few jobs. If you have the right qualifications and no health problems immigration to Australia is fairly simple.

The Irish government should start paying young people to move abroad to reduce the housing crisis, ideally 5,000-10,000 get yourself set up in Australia, Netherlands or Germany along with your flights paid for

Course you guys are bud. I feel like hearing an Australian accent in Ireland is a conversation starter. Definetly recommend you to come sometime if you'd like. My two cents are do go to Dublin don't spend too much time their. The charm of Ireland is in the landscape. I'd recommend Kerry Mayo Galway Donegal and Cork if you'd like to really experience Ireland. Hope you come some.day dave

$60,000.. even if you are earning that (in Australian dollars). You would still basically need that amount as a deposit to get a place in a rural or regional town.

Love the dog: a great actor. Up until Australia changed its immigration policies, I learned that over 70% of Australians had Irish blood coursing through their veins. For years, Argentina and Ireland were the only two countries in the southern hemisphere that had Irish embassies. Each had a large population of Irish. Australia because they either wanted or were forced to settle there and Argentina (so the story goes) because they were told that they were going to “America.” I don’t think there’s any bad place to live in Australia. It’s an absolutely phenomenal country populated by incredible people. If you’re young, I’d definitely work in a rural area if it’s what it takes to get a visa. The cities will still be there when you’re older-but still young!

We know why mate, your country is experiencing the new plantation. Don't worry, we welcome you here, more than half of us have Irish ancestors. Welcome Irish brothers and sisters, best of luck saving our country from our crazy government instead of yours. Come to Tasmania mate, we need more good people here. Houses are still around 150k Euro in many towns. If you move to a regional town in Tassie they'll give you a visa real easy because we are desperate for workers in the bush rather than the big city.

@@kennethrollo7891 insight for sure, although i wouldnt go as far as "half". I found that my irish ancestors were in fact the landlords who were english or norman or something anyway. On the other hand, if your ancestors came in that 1840-60 period you can see it in the record these days, theres no reason to make any myths. Ive got Ramsays and Healys and Heleys whose origin is unknown, they dont seem to have been black and they were Patrick and Marys so lets not risk not declaring them irish, poor dear drowned in the Murrumbidgee.
