Why flying officers and many Lt. Of army are preparing for civil services? Also, my friends who are officers now say wish they were IPS? Why? Are not armed forces over rated? If not, why do we not have examples of people leaving civil services and joining armed forces?

Bro, first of all none is preparing for civil services being in the armed forces. And if there's one happened to be, he is not passionate enough about the armed forces, he'll definitely seek for other options. Armed forces is not for paper hearted people.. And if you find someone to be preparing for civil services being in the army, then belive me, he was never passionate for the army... And ofcourse, grass is always greener on the other side. 🇮🇳 And if you are not a defence aspirant, then "TUM NAHI SAMJHOGE"

Armed Forces and Civil Services have their specifically distinct importance due to varying domain. None is overrated. The age for appearing civil services is more as compared with Armed forces,thus people joining armed forces at an early stage may like to switch to civil services for the will to explore a different domain.While people joining civil services,majoritywise tend to have surpassed the age criteria of appearing for defence. But still those who have intrinsic passion for defence tend to opt defence department of administration after clearing civil services and similarly those who are passionate towards administration tend to opt Ground duty/ Administration in any of the three branches of Indian Armed Forces after getting commissioned through graduation entries.
