If the drone isn’t broadcasting it’s information…. the government CANNOT identify them and they DON’T know who they are. If they capture the drone, it’s required to have its operator ID displayed ON the drone… so yes, then they would know who the owner is, but that’s “in-hand”… it’s useless in the air, even more so at night.

Guys, we pretty much know what these drones are and why they are out there. On Dec. 2nd nuclear waste material went missing in New Jersey. These are US government drones scanning for radiation spikes trying to find the nuclear waste material. So they started scanning in NJ and then spread out in different directions from there. These are larger drones a little smaller than a Cesna with special radiation and other sensors.

here in the UK if a drone weighs less than 250grms it's classed as a toy and you can fly anywhere unrestricted, as long as you aren't "peeping". we've had auditors fly over military radar bases and the military police where okay with it, they knew the laws, normal cops though give them a hard time, flying over police stations is fun - legal too.

Sean - check out the memo from early Dec from the Nuclear Regulatory Council (NRC) about missing readioactive delivery that was supposed to arrive in NJ area and the crate arrived damaged and empty and now they are trying to locate it. Also, tracks as to why you would see Environmental Police driving around for the first time ever. If for deflection, US has joined Turkey and Israel and taken military action in Syria and no one is talking about it and Israel dropped a bomb on Syria this week that was so large it had a mushroom cloud and registered 12+ on the ricter scale. Major and would be front page if this weren't going on. What are we not seeing bc of this.... we'd have much protesting if this was front & center.

An important thing to remember is that if you are a 107 certified drone pilot through the government or even recreational now You have drones have to have what's called SSID identification.... So this guy saying that everyone's legal SSID identification is a way of identifying the drone and where it took off from or where it is etc

We only see them at night because of the lights. They may be flying in the daytime too, and we just can't see them. If they leave no heat signature they could be camouflaged for daytime skies too..

I've flown R/C aircraft for decades and as far as I know, none of the hobby aircraft fly at night because it's an "eyes on" activity. Drones on the other hand, especially FPV drones, can be safely flown at night in many cases. Many times multiple drones fly under computer control in fantastic formations at night! These drone shows are amazing! Why folks are so afraid of them baffles me.... Also, I fly a couple drones myself! LOL! 😀 PS: I can't believe a fearful female LEO anyway... LOL! 😁

I live in rural, Central Pa. I own a three acre lot on the edge of a small town. Own my home, paid it off, lived here for almost 34 years. Any drone flying over my property will be fired on, bottom line.
