These are decent, should be 50 bucks or less without the chanel branding. Gucci and Balenciaga sneakers look atrocious imo, but either way none of these shoes warrant their exorbitant prices. Cost of production is similar to a Nike or Adidas, yet they sell them for tenfold.

metcard Gucci are bench made and not all hand made like a pair of bespoke shoes from Gaziano and Girling for example. New Balance also makes bench made shoes with very good quality in the US and UK for 200 bucks and less. You can get sneakers from John Lobb (or Santoni) for less than Gucci and John Lobb is one of the best shoe makers in the world, not a fashion house. Church‘s, Cheaney, Cleverley (all made in England) Alden (US made), Santoni, Paolo Scafora (bothe made un Italy) and many more are actual shoe makers who produce rtw on the highest level and for less or similar price than Gucci. There is also bespoke, but that is another level. Bottom line is if you want a performance sneaker or just something affordable you buy Nike, Adidas etc., if you want quality you buy Lobb, Santoni etc., if you want to show that you have money and don’t care about performance or quality, then you buy Gucci and co, cause you mainly pay for the brand, the logo.

I think it’s due to the quality of materials used and how they are sourced. the fact these come from one of the most prestigious fashion houses on the planet as well as the fact Chanel never have their items on sale (and burn products which aren’t sold that season) lead to the high price. I think they are nice, but are too expensive.

new balance doesn’t make their sneakers by hand or have them made in Italy. Their shoes are made in China in a sweatshop most likely. While these Chanel sneakers are nice and very classic, they aren’t worth the price. These are tailored to people who don’t want an athletic shoe and want a classic look. The difference between the 2 people you mentioned is that the person who has the 5 designer shoes is likely not buying them to play a sport of any kind and wants something that is classic that won’t go out of style like a Jordan shoe or a Yeezy. Oh and they want something that they won’t see on the next person frequently.

R Snr New Balance produce some of their shoes in China and the quality is decent. They also manufacture in the US and in the UK though and the craftsmanship is very impressive, especially for the price. Jordans have been in style for more than 30 years while these designer sneakers will go out of style in less than 3 years. They are far from classic. Stan Smith, Af1s, Clyde, Chuck taylors, sk8 hi, Jordan 1s those are classics as far as sneakers are concerned. The people you are talking about just want to show that they have money, which does not equal style. In this case far from it, cause most designer sneakers look atrocious. A fool and his money are easily parted.

If u want a designer sneaker a person can get an af1 a Stan Smith and they can also get a gucci or Christian Louboutin either a subtle or loud one depending on taste. This retro Jordan craze is nice for sneaker hype and nostalgia vibes etc but in the overall scheme it’s looked at as a young person trait/game and if a person wants to differentiate themselves from that they aren’t going to bother with these sportswear shoes.

Shoes are expensive because of the moldings and materials used obviously. Look at Big Baller Brand. Before they teamed up with Santa Ana, they said the price of the shoes were reflected in moldings etc. If a company is constantly putting out shoes with hundreds of different designs, obviously they will use different moldings. Plus when you don’t sell a lot of pairs, you have to adjust your price. Of course you are paying for the brand as well, but just wanted to make it clear that shoes are expensive to make.
