I'm going to throw it out there- these shoes are EXTREMELY comfortable. Heavy when holding, but when wearing you really don't notice. It's like walking on a cloud with all that cushion inside. You kind of just want to bounce around in them. Yes I own a pair, the silver with purple. I debated about it for a long ass time. I agree that $1600 is ridiculous for sneakers. I bought some dupes off Ebay (not saying Gucci or anything, just style was similar) and tried them out first. I wore them a lot and liked them.I then splurged on the legit ones but could feel the difference of the quality completely. Do I laugh at how much I spent on these? hell friggin yes, it is INSANE. But do I regret this purchase? Absolutely not! I think if some no name brand could make ones at this level of quality (this level of comfort when wearing) then I'd buy them, doesn't have to be Gucci to entice me. It's just that if I'm gonna wear a ridiculous sneaker, it has to be well made and most sneakers aren't that well made. (Actually you should review Atoms. They're less expensive, like $100-200 range, very simple sneaker but very comfortable. Just not going to last forever --I hiked in them and wore them traveling/backpacking for a month and had to get rid of them afterward.

They are so expensive because they use premium leathers etc, but the majority of the cost is the label and knowing rich kids worldwide aspire to wear such labels . . . . I've had Prada trainers, boat shoes before for £180 and they were very well made and lasted years. I'd never pay more than £200-300 absolute tops for trainers/shoes. Bought Gucci loafer in 2003, and they were well worn and still in good shape.

I love the sole, I love how the traction runs up the side and how the heel is segmented off from the toe to create a boot like look. I also like the sega Gucci logo and the concept of removable straps on a sneaker. What I don’t like is the paneling on the upper and the fact they call it a hiking sneaker. The only thing reminiscent of hiking boots is the lacing system and the laces them self’s. I think this shoe has a lot of good things to offer, but it fails in presenting them in a cohesive, unified package. Oh, and I’m not paying anywhere near 1600 for an upper made of mostly spacer mesh. I’d love to see a soleswap with something like a triple s or maybe even another Gucci sneaker.

They're ugly. I'm considering the Gucci Ace Sneakers, plain white with green/red webbing, no embroidery. I just want a white classic clean sneaker, but at $630 plus tax nearing the $700 mark.- expensive I know its not worth it, but I can't find a decent white sneaker to wear with jeans. The white sneakers I've found are either too cheap looking or too plan. The Ace Sneakers just has that pop of color because of the webbing.Plus they really look good on. The Adidas Stan Smith look and feel too cheap. The tongue is too long so I returned those.
