These are probably my favorite and one of the only designer shoes I kind of like. Thought they were hideous at first, and not really a fan of this particular colorway, but eventually came around on them. I wish the sole was more midsole and and optical illusion, so that you actually sat deeper into it more like the height of a regular show, but it wrapped around a bit to give the illusion that it was taller than it is.

For me it was the the bottom half (the Cuban link) that made the shoe. At the bottom heel is a little embossed Medusa. They are a lil high but I still mess with them heavy. Super expensive tho.

Favorite luxury brand for sneakers: Gucci Most I ever paid is (I had to look it up lol) $920.13 for the Gucci GG low top sneakers in great white. That was before the price increase lol I saw a comment say exclusivity is one of the reasons the consumer buys this and that’s true. Highest I went was $905 for some resell priced off-white Air Max 90s. If I’m touching $1k for a sneaker it’s gotta be the Balenciaga Triple S but they got me fucked up if they think I’m paying the same price of $995 since they started production in China. 25% calfskin , 15% lambskin just isn’t worth $995 when it’s made in China. In Italy by Italian quality checks, then yes.

I got 850 dollar retail price salvatore ferragamo hi tops when they were on a 70% ish discount at an off zaks 5th store. 200 bucks. A gold omega loop was missing from a part of the high tops. That's why it was crazy discounted. Calfskin leather. Luxurious. I love them. Quality. Handmade in italy. That's a big reason for price. Design, comfort, quality. Yes add a touch of perceived value and u got that price. Gotta say though. Bigger brands dont always bring that quality but sometines luxury can do it right. All about timing, sure my shoes arent in style much anymore. They look like moon shoes but idgaf I rock em in shorts and pink shirts lol. I say, buy what you like, but try not to overpay if you can help it. But guarantee they feel better than any nike made for fashion. They make less and that drives price upp too. You pay for exclusivity.
