Thanks for watching! What kind of beadlock do you run? Next week will be a video showing the mounting of these tires and some Project 250R welding before we send the parts to powder coat! 🤘

Uhhhh, I planned to get beadlocks but got no clue what to get tbh. Been thinking of goldspeed but still leaving my options open still.

Goldspeed makes a good wheel; I damn near bought those instead of OMF
@MichaelSabo5 жыл бұрын
No, I spent 2 days filming it and ran into issues with the local ordinance complaining while John and I were doing the runs and trying to fix the speed wobble. I will get around to doing that but right now the 250R is my focus.

sweet looking wheels for the R . I tried holeshots a couple of times . the guys I rode with on the mx track in the early 2000s use to have all kinds of tire set ups for each track and conditions . my favorite was the maxxis razzr . when I had holeshots I found that they slid out easy on turns when you charged them hard in most mx track conditions . the maxxis razzr I never had a problem they hooked in every condition . lately ive been running the gbc xc masters because their half the price of maxxis not as good of side walls but they hook like maxxis in my opinion for the xc series I run
@MichaelSabo5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the info man. This will be the first time ever riding with holeshots but I've run Razr's before and loved them. I hear really good stuff about the GBCs too but I've never tried them.

Put those tires on regular wheels and have them balanced for the high speed run.
@250race5 жыл бұрын
Do you run a 6" front wheel if you do you should run a 3" off inter and outer. This will allow equal pressure all the way across your will and less tire shake. Do you have a camber caster on the quad? If so we set are cars at 9% to 11% with 1/8 toe out.
@MichaelSabo5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the info man; I've seen some other people running 6 inch wide front wheela and wasnt sure if it was a typo. These front rims are 10x5(4+1)

Buy a set off non bead lock rim 10" 3"3" off weld wheels I think they are $88 use soap when setting the bead. It should set with 10 to 15 psi. I mounted over 300 of these tires

Hi my name is Pete I just got into spots quads , I have been riding dirt bike for ever, and I was wondering if you have made a video on tire size to rim size , or can give me some info on how to match tier size to rim size. Hope this makes sense. Thanks

Try to have the rim narrower then the tire by two or 3 inches if you can. But depends on what your doing.

The way I see it, is the 250r or banshee won’t make enough hp to spin those on the wheel imo. But smooth with the lip would be good on the omf. Be a MF to seal up if they leak, the wheels look bad ass.
@MichaelSabo5 жыл бұрын
I kind of agree that they're not going to make enough power to spin the tire on the rim, especially on dirt. But if you go to the track, pros are running beadlocks so there has to be a reason, something maybe I'm un-aware of.
@barkus9215 жыл бұрын
Michael Sabo absolutely, thinkin of how you’d be spinning the tires. And flyin through the air probably be a bit different now that I think of it lol.
@gompie2505 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelSabo you mentioned it in your video yourself, low air pressure and high speed cornering will make it pop right off ;)
@MichaelSabo5 жыл бұрын
@@gompie250 that makes a lot of sense; high speed cornering. Honestly wasnt thinking of that at the time. Excellent point!

Its more for keeping bead on tire from side pressures like a rock or hard fast turns with low air pressure

Tire heights are not exactly equal either. Especially with cheap tires.some have bulges at random spots also.dragster racers even measure new tires and cut them to exact same heights since they are usually are not and have random bulges or high spots on brand new tires.over inflating to seat bead can supposedly cause bulges as well
