Rick, as you know I am in Central Florida. We are in the spawn times here. You talked about open hooks on swimbaits. We are very weedy here so open hooks are out. Mostly I use belly weighted hooks (1/8 oz) with screw locks. You also talked about line size. If I used eight pound test I would lose a bait on every cast and probably never get a bass to the boat. I use 30 pound braid and often with a floro leader on it but not always. We have lots of tanic stained water here so the floro is not always needed. You also talked about super glue. Most super glue is very liquid and runs all over, including your fingers, and the glue hardens in the bottle before you get a chance to use much of it. I found the best super glue of all time. Loctite Ultra Gel Control. (not a sponsor) It applies and sticks to the hook and bait exactly where you put it because it is a gel. The tip of the bottle does not become plugged after use and it is designed with wings on the sides of the bottle that you squeeze to push out the exact amount of glue you want. I just caught a bunch on a Gambler E-Z Swimmer smooth swimbait yesterday! Great video.
