When I'm on the road,I give the big rigs when they pass me the truckers etiquette signal that they can come on over in front of me. It makes my day when they respond 😊

I do the same thing. Give them the high beam (day or night) to let them know they are clear to come in. They come in & flash their rear end lights back at me to thank me. Break lights? Night lights? I never knew what lights they are. Shrugs.

The 2025 Freightliner I am training on has the flash buttons: one for head lights to and one for trailer lights. I am usually the slowest tractor (Prime Inc.) so I only get to use the headlight flash 99% of the time.

Wether it's day or night, turn them off, DO NOT use your bright lights to signal, it's too much like a glare and most old school drivers like me will completely ignore it, but I do appreciate the effort

Great that you mentioned onawa My grandmother Ruby Taylor born and raised in Onawa her sister.Ruth owned a restaurant on Main Street. Widest main street in the united states sure has changed over the years..i was raised out side of Albia we had a sinclair gas station in Albia ..gave away Dinosaur soap the day we opened...albia to has grew ..alot Was delivering in waterloo ..john deere ..through the storms ....very bad ..heart broke over devastation Crazy can drive down 20 and still see alot of damage from last bad storm

Same thing happens ALWAYS here in Oz, you get a driver doing 10 kms below the speed limit, but as soon as you want to pass them they speed up. Complete A holes.

A lot of drivers speed up just as you start to pass them in the passing lane. I think it’s a mental deal.

I don't know the name ( hydrodynamic ?) but imagine the truck pushing the air over, around it. There's a huge bow wave that is pushed out front, pours around the bumper and down the side of the truck. The bow wave will pick up and push the cars at the corner of the truck off to the side as well as push them forward. Once the truck is along side a car, the vacuum takes over and sucks the car along at the trucks speed, even holding the throttle at the same position will allow a varying car speed. Throw in the average intelligence level as well as lack of driving knowledge in driving with other vehicles and well . . .☆

They have those passing lanes down here in Texas also and people will do r the same thing. Poke around when it’s two lanes then speed up during the passing lanes.

In the past few years I have noticed people doing stupid things like that. Also I'll be going up a mountain on cruise control maintaining my speed that I set and all the cars ahead of me will be doing 40 like they have a trunk full of lead and I have to slow down and get over and speed back up to pass them.

Yeah, how 'bout the drivers that when on a 2-lane highway slow down when there's a double yellow line and speed up when passing is permitted, or when on an expressway when approaching their exit ramp, they seem to zoom up to 120 mph plus.

Very frustrating that it seems that the person woke 🆙 The week before my son graduated was hectic, but I had fun too. I’d rather be behind the trucks. They know everything that’s going on ahead and can see farther ahead than I can. If they slow down I know to slow down. Esp in winter possible icing. Watch the spray if no spray possible slick ice. If spray road is just wet. Hubby was trucker 30 years I rode with him sometimes. The one good thing he taught me.

I hear ya loud and clear. I had a discussion like this this morning. When the car in front of you is doing 35 in a 50 mph zone and they have to apply the brake for a slight bend in the road. They should probably reevaluate their driving ability and look at public transportation. And it wasn't raining.

Yeah i hate when they do that, my truck or well all trucks over here are locked at 90kph/56mph and you catch up to someone when you do 78 and you go to the left to pass and even when speeding up to 90 you can't pass, i have a few not so nice words at that point.

I have been outside all day trying to balance my bike rims. it shakes going down smooth roads though my city don't have many smooth roads lol. I need new rims for it I think. I don't think wheelchair rims are meant to go 21 MPH. lol It got up to 82 today. beautiful day.
