I really loved your video. As someone with Bi-Polar type one it’s my dream to be able to drive truck and I’m working on getting my nerves back together after I had a break 8 years ago. Your videos give me hope that people that take medication can truck! Also I have a dog so I love seeing the interaction. ❤

Kurt no worries you have a hard job dealing with other drivers. My dad was an over the road drive for 30 years and retired in 1988. In the 70's as a teenager I would go with him on a trip now and again and I learned words I had never heard and could tell how frustrated he would get with other drivers back then. I can only imagine what it is like today. I enjoy the channel!

Back in the early 80’s I was a city driver for Yellow freight and our seats. Were bolted to the floor. You wore your seat belt to stay in the seat . In 1988 was the first year city trucks got air ride seats and power steering . Linehaul had air ride seats and power steering.

Hey Kurt, I am a subscriber of yours for a while now. I really enjoy all the stuff. Stopped at Sparkys yesterday, nice place. I drive a Peterbilt 389 and I do not put air in my chair either. Never have, never will. I am an average size guy, my seat is all the way back and my shifter is a little above shoulder height. It is comfortable to me. I am an old guy and it's all about comfort. Have a great day sir.

I'm a truck driver and I don't put any air in my seat either because I'm 6 foot 8 inches tall and if I put air in my seat I wouldn't have a very good view out my window and I like sitting low. Low for me isn't really low but whatever I have a 12in extension on my shifter as well to make it easy to use. I understand completely what you are referring to

The tire wear is called river wear. It's caused by internal cord separation. When you said you had it repaired is when the cord separation happened before the repair. The hole allowed air to infiltrate the steel belts separating the rubber and belt. As a retired truck mechanic. I liked tall shifters. They put a lot more wear in the transmission shift forks and sliding clutches. When I drove for awhile. I had to have a little air in the seat. It was the only air bag on the truck.

It's fortunate that your body can tolerate the rough ride of an 18-wheeler. My back can't. The constant up and down movement of the air ride seat helps keep me focused. I don't think I would like a tall shifter. My knees love automatic transmissions. Safe travels truck driver. 😊
