after someone very close to me took his own life I went into a time of insanity, I did not understand that G-d's plan existed (Xchristian here). This insanity of emotions lead me to attempt to take my own life, which I failed at but I continued to live with this insanity. Because of this living in the craziness my family, friends, work, and so forth left me, they didn't want anything to do with the crazy, I became so lonely. Again, I decided to end my life, as I was preparing I asked no one in particular since I was alone in the room, No one wants me, no one needs me, why should I go on living?" HE said "I NEED YOU" That moment turned me right around and now I know this is all G-ds domain and I am a part of that for his need. Thank you Rabbi Friedman, I love listening to you and all you share.

*Jessica Smith:* I'll say the same to you as I said to *Yi Be.* I hate to 'burst your bubble', as it were, but you might want to speak with an Orthodox Rabbi before making such a profound decision, and get an idea of what is truly involved. It is NOT an easy lifestyle, by any means. It's not like Christianity, where it's as simple as praying the 'sinner's prayer'. There is a LOT of commitment involved - especially for men, but women also are required to make a huge commitment of their lives to follow God's Eternal Laws. May Hashem guide and bless you!

​@@jessicasmith7102: Yes, there are some very righteous, wise, and knowledgeable rabbis in these videos, that's for sure. When you're ready to advance in your spiritual journey, it really would be a good idea to speak with an Orthodox rabbi, if you have one in your community. He would be able to advise you as to whether the local Jewish Community Center offers any courses on Judaism and Jewish thought (where you can ask any questions you may have), which is the route I took at the start of my spiritual journey. I learned a lot from those classes and also from the videos and websites on here, such as Jews for Judaism and Rabbi Tovia Singer's videos, as well as the Tenak Talk ones (which Rabbi Singer sometimes guests on). Anyways, just a thought. All the best to you, and may Hashem continue to bless you and increase your wisdom and understanding, as you learn about Him! 😊

Another very nice speech by this great scholar and thinker, which is very rare to find among all religions and tribes. Masha Allah! .. what Allah wills. I find parallel thought in the quran again from a verse where it says "and you do not will, except that Allah wills.". Basically our will is the will of Allah. If one takes this a step backward, one sees that most (if not all) of our wills are based on our needs and desires. So if our will is Gods will, then our desires could be so too. Additionally, as a Muslim I also follow eastern teachings such as Vedic and Buddhist wisdom, as God orders us to seek knowledge all over the world. This whole topic of abandoning our needs is the core of those philosophies. What better way than abandoning those needs by seeing them as nonexistent to start with. By seeing them as belonging to God, just like everything else in the heavens and earth belongs to Him? Masha Allah! This is great and highly interesting. According to eastern philosophy the result of not having needs is that one kills suffering, just like the Rabbi said. It seems that the Rabbi is too busy to read and respond to comments here, but I would love to know where this thought evolved from, and to be more precise: where in the torah we can find the basis for this revelation. I have already found several verses in the Quran that directly support this idea. (Maybe some Torah learned person other than the Rabbi himself can point towards the Torah proof of this view) Many thanks and may we all serve our Lord and Creator better than anybody has done in the past, Shalom

One more parallel I'd like to add .. or God wants me to add :) is the word hamd - root h m d - present in the song of Solomon, which is defined according to Semitic languages dictionary as 'desire', except in Arabic. In Arabic it is defined as 'praise', but I've personally come to believe that this definition is inaccurate according to its use in the Arabic Islamic traditions and texts. If we take the definition of the other semitic languages, then the name Muhammad rather means 'desired one', instead of the modern definition of 'praised one' (praise being rather 'shukr'). One of the beautiful names of God is al Hameed, or the desirer. And when we say alhamdulilah, it actually means the desire to God. I've been aware of this for some time now and this fits perfectly with this philosophy. I thought I'd add this in case anybody is interested. I'm learning my Islam from a Rabbi now :D lol ..thank you

This guy says there were no particles and there was nothing else but God. The title of this video got me thinking, maybe God had this same question why do I exist. Why is anything exist?-it serves a purpose for itself to exist. Maybe God needed a purpose so he created us and everything to serve his purpose so that God serves the purpose of everything that exists and everything serves a purpose unto himself.

@@janishart5128 I've been lutheran christian, lukewarm agnostic atheist, anti-theist, satanist, fuzzy mysticist, muslim, almost catholic and lastly orthodox christian. I absolutely must be spiritual in some kind of way. My heart have been aching exponentially more and more over time for true connection with God. A completely horrifyingly deep and striking kind of ache. Now I don't see any other way than this, if I'd so had to lick all the floors of my house while walking upside down on my hands two times a day. The more I can do that God wants the better, no matter what it is. I used to be ridiculously good at upholding extremely strict self-determined dicipline. I considered myself my own god that could dictate whatever I had to do to fulfill a goal, into the smallest details. Then I no longer could do it because I didn't know what was truly right to do. What truly fullfilled ultimate meaning. I'm desperate for rock-hard routines and rules that I can trust in.

I once told a colleague eating is an unholy process. He told me I was crazy. The Rebbe is correct it unhealthy. Food does harm to the body including other physical issues. I believe, praying to GD. It is more important than eating. Eating is an earthly issue. Not a spiritual issue. Thank you rebbe your lecture was correct. What important is helping other souls through the earthly process? Before leaving for paradise.

Wasn’t some Jewish myth stories that say that in Heaven there are souls and these souls constantly ask the Lord to be born on Earth? And then as they are born the Angel 👼 touch their lips and they forget all the past upon which they are born as human babies without a memory of being a soul in Heaven. Fiat Lux ברוך השם Dear Fiat Lux, I am afraid of any “thinking” that seems non-comprehension. I am not missing the point at all, Hashem is not in “need” of anything period. Hashem is even above what we call ultimate, he is way beyond our comprehension. Need - limits anyone and any element. Hashem is limitless, hence not needy. Please think like this - Hashem = no need.
