Shalom Aleichem, No need to be sorry. Egypt was also a safe haven for us during the famine in Yosef’s time. It was G^DS Perfect will to hide us away in the safety of your ancestral homeland. It’s the Torah, it keeps us together across time and space. In Torah, we find our call to responsibility. It refers to us as, “ G^ds chosen people” but not because we have a special privilege but because we have to take on extra responsibility.

I might suggest that Judah, Levi, and Benjamin are not all twelve tribes. in fact, the Jews know the Joes are just as chosen, and ireland has historical connections to Israel. the nation, not the state..

My family raised us “Pentecostal-Evangelical Christians” but I was always inclined to the Jewish Lifestyle. Then one day I realized my Mother and her parents never allowed pork in the house. And that raised some questions for me, so I got a DNA test and it turns out that my Mom is Jewish and so am I. But it’s funny because I knew it in my bones, that I was ethnically/spiritually Jewish way before any DNA test could confirm it.

About a month ago, I was looking for a book to read but I couldn't find anything that interest me. I was hungry for something for my soul but I just wasn't finding anything. I wanted to learn about God but I couldn't find anything that felt right so I asked myself one day, who would really know about God? The Jews! So I ended up coming across Rabbi Friedman and I liked what I heard so I've been listening to him. It really blows my mind that he said exactly how I felt in this video about wanting to really learn about God. Also, my daughter played the "I didn't ask to be born" card with me and I told her, "you wanted to be born because you were the fastest and strongest tadpole". 😂That shut her up.

I was captivated by the story of the mother who couldn't let go of her son after he suicided, and Rabbi said that a suicidal person who struggles every single day not to give in to it is heroic. It's about the struggle not the ultimate wretchedness that just gets too deep for many a person with SI. I needed to hear that, I needed to know that the mom was able to let go of her extreme pain, and that the son was a hero not a loser & quitter. I don't think I've ever heard anything more important (to me) from anybody.

I think that listening to you is about trying to understand our similarities and differences. I am not disappointed with my religion. As a Catholic I also have this need to understand other religions. You are a good speaker and easy to understand. I appreciate that. And of course, I am learning, not to change my religion but to try to understand the world around me.

I'm not Jewish born. But the churches failed me miserably. Not God, the churches. I stayed right with God no matter what these churches did. However, I was alone and it hurt. And as much as I loved God I just somehow knew my teaching I had was inadequate. Then I came across this Rabbi on UTube. He taught me and answered all the questions I always had. His perspective gave me comfort. And I'm not frightened of God anymore. Respect, yes, and love, always. But no more being afraid of a God I didn't understand. Thank you, Rabbi Freeman! 🙂
