Delivered early August (admittedly 4 months late) but we love her attention to detail and for us in a classic style and colour. You get what you want with Artie and it is worth waiting for. Personally I think the Widebeams are the only way to go - they are beautiful - I think the narrowboats are simply too limiting in their comfort because of the width. I would never be able to live in one !

A very diplomatic video. As I've watched your content from the beginnings of this 'electric' boat, I too, sitting here in Australia have felt your frustration with the number of outages that you suffered from new with the technology installed in the boat. It's a beautiful boat but as you have said there are areas that you would have liked to have been designed differently (the bed situation for example). It's such a shame that you felt the need to explain yourselves to your viewers. I applaud you for your stance in wanting to move away from associations if they fail to live up to your moral compass...we all should. Here's hoping that some lucky person/s buy the boat and you can begin a new journey with people that are truly and well versed/expert in electric propulsion/house bank systems and you get the fabulous boat you both so richly deserve! Hi Paul, and Anthony I just fine the new technology with electric power narrowboats, cars and evenTrucks is not just there yet. Living in Australia is long ways between places with electric cars probably in England. It’s probably the best thing because you’re not travelling the kilometres that we are travelling next week. I am travelling down to Sydney which is around 900 to 1000 km in a petrol car if I was going to buy a narrow boat I definitely would be buying one with a diesel, but that’s my choice and you guys are living on the narrow boat family , probably sounds stupid, but I love the sound of the diesel motors on the narrowboats , anyway, really appreciate you both. Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see the new one and the design because you both have very good flair for designing , Cliff from Logan City, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 I’m on the big island 🏝️

Hey Cliff. We do think narrowboats are ideal for electrification due to their travelling profile. I have to admit, we miss the sound of the engine sometimes, but the sound of the nature around us is also a bonus. I can see how electric cars may struggle in Oz due to the vast distances. I guess we are more like a hybrid car, in that we have a back up generator, so we don’t rely on electric points. Hope you have a great week ❤️

Hey Michael. I think the main issue for us is that people thought they were getting the same boat, but we have had major systems replaced and re wiring done. We also have a Colecraft shell. Ours works great now and we are absolutely honest about the comment that we wouldn’t be devastated if she didn’t sell. We just feel like a clean break is needed. Be great to bump into you. Always a bottle of wine on board. 😊

Very well put and delicately said. Personally it comes across ( to me anyway) you were Guinea pigs and thrown in the deep end to see how it goes. It’s great but also sad that you have had to go elsewhere to finalise getting things done right. And having been there in cars I can empathise the need for a fresh start too. Ev cars come with 7/8 yrs warranty and in my eyes so should ev boats too as all the same or similar principles and components exist. Every best wish on selling. An interesting vlog there lads! As a member of the narrow boating community serving many boat builders, I’m well aware of the situation behind the scenes which has prompted this decision. Whilst this situation does not directly concern you or your boat, it is to your credit that you feel that you can no longer endorse this builders product. You acknowledge that the builder has replaced multiple components but I have to ask why was this needed on a boat that was less than 12 months old? Good luck with the sale of this boat and the build of the next one.

I have absolutely no idea what’s going on (despite being a member of the boating community). But if an association doesn’t fit then it’s wise to step away. All I could see with the current boat was something that looked beautiful (and I toured it at Crick) but had far too many faults. I hope the lads can move on and get themselves settled in a new boat with no associations, connections or problems.
