You are allowed to get whatever dog you want! As someone with two rescues and one "properly" bred dog, I see the pros and cons of both. But, my next dog (many years in the future!) will be a purebred dog as I will be looking for specific things in that dog. People should not dictate what type of dog another person gets. I love my rescues and will absolutely be interested in getting more rescues in the future, but is not for everyone! A friend of mine also got two rescues and have had to sadly put both down due to severe health issues. Wish you all the best and looking forward to meeting your new crew memeber next year!

Llangollen would be nice in the spring/summer but I think it might turn into a boat parking lot. The town is different in the summer when the river is down and all the rocks are showing. Your new crew mate is adorable 🩵 I understand exactly what you mean when you say you can’t have a rescue dog, we had one and he was the best dog ever, but it’s a big risk and would be sad if things didn’t turn out well 😢 My son came to visit at Christmas and my daughter has a year old dog and although my son hasn’t had an allergy to dogs before, he was covered in hives and gasping for breath after coming into contact with the new dog 😱 it was quite scary. He was fine once he’d had an antihistamine, my daughter had to take the dog home 👍 Take care and have a lovely new year xxx

Anthony, watching you pull your sweater up that way reminded me of one of the Beano Bash Street kids when I was a boy in the UK. LOL Perhaps getting a balaclava/ski mask would help against the cold. I have a thin one that I wear under my motorbike helmet and a knitted one for wearing in the cold weather in Canada. Congratulations on your new puppy, if your new Labradoodle puppy is anything like our Standard Poodle it will be a source of great joy, great frustration and lots of love. As my daughter says a house is just a house without a pet, but with a pet it is a home. BTW she has two rescue dogs. Happy New Year to all.

Giving a dog a home is...giving a dog a home. Your new puppy needs one just as much as does a rescue dog.

Hello Seb! Folks should definitely get a dog which suits them, especially when folks have allergies. Rescuing is important, but neutering and spaying is every bit as important. We were fortunate to find a pug to rescue, and we also bought one from a breeder. Absolutely nothing wrong with getting a dog from a reputable breeder. Where I live the shelters are mostly full of pit bulls and chihuahuas. I am a very much not a fan of pit bulls. I like chihuahuas but I'm full up with elderly pugs at the moment :)

I got so excited when you said you were showing the new puppy! Sebastian is an adorable little squeaky with beautiful colouring. No doubt you are both looking forward to a couple of sleepless nights. 😀 I understand completely about getting the breed you want since if I were to get another it would have to be a Westie. I was involved in golden retriever rescue for years and still support rescue. What I learned is that rescue is not the answer for every situation. Most of my previous babies were rescues and most of them had some sort of issue that we lovingly overcame or at least learned to adapt. Congratulations on the gorgeous little one! I was surprised how much a puppy helped after I lost my beloved Levi. Much love to you both. ❤
