Why Are We So Afraid of AI?

According to some people artificial intelligence will be the end of humanity. Even experts, who work in the field, share this fear. Why is this? We have no experience with AI, let alone AGI (artificial general intelligence).

any species that smart takes over and damage the less smart species and its not deliberate we damage a lot of animals environments just because we want to expand. also this is the first time we create something that thinks and makes decisions on its own. every other invention we create before we just a tool that help us with our decisions

Hence it will always have a threat of dying and we will always be the only ones to have the ability to bring it back because we are its parents. That's why it will treat us like gold and make us immortal immediately.
