The Ameraucana is an APA standardized breed. It must have a beard and muffs. Easter Eggers, often mislabeled by hatcheries as Ameraucana or given the misleading name of Americana, are not a “breed,” so they can be beardless. None of the birds shown in these videos are Ameraucana, they are all Easter Eggers. Not that there is anything wrong with that. EEs are great.

First of all, I want to say l looked for an email address for this post. I was unable to locate one. This s/b a private convo. So l guess this will be a public scervice announcement. Secondly, l love the messages and wholesome loving family lifestyle you put out there. I see my life about 30+ years ago. My father was like you a hopeless "collector!" We of course owned most of what you have now plus more. You could add most every species of pea fowl available and 30 - 40 species of waterfowl (Dad even carried the licences for federally protected species). Royal Mute Swans and Australian black swans with their own 30' x 40' ponds. The ducks and geese were out on the acre lake. We probably had 2 dozen types of quail from button and bluescale to the jumbo bobwhites and California Valley quail to name a few. Pheasants too! Goldens in various colors, ring neck and my fav. Black ringneck. Oh! There were the squwakin Macaws indoors and his pet raven of 30 years, Jack. Now to the ugly part. He found for sale in one of his many bird "news papers", eggs for sale..... for the big birds... Both the Emu and the South American ostrich typically called the Rhea. You kind of know what happened next and yes it was a successful hatch for both species. Both are large and hard to hold on to, the Rhea does have whispy wings you can grab. Where the emu just doesnt give you much option. You must be mindful of the nail hook at the wings tip. Here is some of what can happen, just with the emu. Especially the pet variety you display so sweetly. You may notice they can for no reason get a bolt of energy, jump straight up into the air and dash off. It happened to me. As he jumps up if you are close enough his middle toe,( put there by our creator for the birds safety along with speed) he could accidently gut the person by mistake! Now, how fast can you re-load the end trails back in, load yourself, your pet or God forbid, your child into the car or get an ambulance? It was never going to happen at our ranch. My father said he would never take that chance. Wally was my baby! Wally followed me everywhere. As wally had matured that squeek turned into a sqeek, Boom -boom -boom- boom. She would put her head in the palm of my hand up against my chest. So sweet. Wally and Ollie along with our pod of Rhea went to a local zoo to help diversify their blood lines. Now, if you get one just a bit crazy, they can take that middle toe and launch themselves over a tall fence. Sort of looks like pole vaulting. Thats basically all l have to say. I just no longer romanticize big bird breeding. Save it for the pros! We all love what you do and want to see your family safe!!!!

Hallo, from Germany! Just want to let you know, that you should plant the tomatoes at the same spot as last year! My grandfather told me, that those plants like to have the same spot every year. Also in a Circle. I did that for years and had always very good results! I think it’s too late anyway, because you did that already! You‘re doing a wonderful job!👌🏻🙏🏻🥰🖖🏻

I love this channel so much! I would love to send your family something but California’s currently in a poultry quarantine due to Newcastle’s disease :( and even if it’s unlikely, i don’t want to contaminate your flock with this messy disease

You guess are awesome! Bamboo is growing up so fast and so are the blonde emus! Your baby is do sweet! It's hard to believe that my kids were ever that small. My daughter is 41 and my son is 39! Time flies and you can't stop them from growing up! Just video your kids every day. They didn't have video when my kids were your kid's age! Best of luck and God bless y'all! I love you guys! ❤🛵Scooter😉
