Total BS. Dishwashers should dry the dishes no matter how clean/dirty the dishes are...

My new AEG dishwasher washer won’t dry properly. Useless. Wish I had bought the Bosch series 8. I agree they should dry them no matter what. I use rinse aid and a fat lot of good that was.

I know right! I used to live in an apartment with a GE dishwasher that had simple options like Normal, Light, and Heavy cycles, along with Heat Boost and Dry - that’s all it needed. No fancy cascade platinum or rinse aid required, and it worked flawlessly. But then, we moved into our new house and decided to get an LG dishwasher with all these ridiculous sensors and whatnot. Guess what? Total disappointment. It has already needed repair seven times - what a shame

@@Akshay-08 Actually to update you, I told department store to pick that useless AEG dishwasher up. After much to and fro and procrastination from them they did. Gotta refund and I purchased the Bosch series 8. And I’ve found it a fantastic machine. Dishes come out real hot and bone dry. Absolutely no problem whatsoever. Sorry about your LG dishwasher. Can you get the retail store to pick it up and get reimbursed. Cheers.

When I purchased this dishwasher I expected it to clean and Dry the dishes like all the other dishwashers I have had. If the goal is to make them so energy efficient that they no longer dry the dishwasher I don’t want one that won’t dry the dishes

@@kathyfann Good point. I can tolerate a slight spec of left over, but not really, lol, but for dishes to come out damp and many dripping is totally out of the question. I’m extremely happy with my Bosch, but I’m quite partial to the very high end Miele as well.

Thx for the video. I find many modern appliances loaded with features no one wants or uses. My last dishwasher just washed dishes and dry them clean. Nothing but soap and water. This unit has all kinds of settings and doesn't dry. SMH. Now I got to add a rinse aide. Really. I think there is a fortune to be made by the company that is willing to make simple reliable appliances that work.
@Donsappliances

Although it is an extra step, Rinse Aid should last a month or two. You could also use white vinegar as an alternative; it will help the water spread and run off of dishes.
@EfieldHfield_377

@@Donsappliances Thanks so much. I will try the vinegar route first - I would prefer not to drink rain-X. When you say last a month, do you mean a bottle of rinse aide will last a month or the amount you add to the rinse aid loading container will last a month.
@Donsappliances
@Donsappliances Жыл бұрын
@@EfieldHfield_377 The amount of rinse aid you put into the rinse aid slot will last a month! A full bottle should last you a year or more.

My water heater is set at 120 degrees. Wife runs sink water until its hot and then turns on the DW so it will get get instant hot water. Wife uses rinse aide too and the dishes always come out wet. probably time to replace with a different brand. With my 50 years using DW I never had this problem. DW was new and has never dried the dishes since day one.

I hate these new effing dishwashers and washers and dryers. I have the LG thin Q dishwasher with the “European drying” system. I wish I had never bought it. Nothing EVER comes out dry and I don’t want to add extra chemicals like the “rinse aid” that coats your dishes and is highly toxic. The earlier dishwashers did the damn job - they cleaned and dried them. So sick of this environmental green crap that’s crammed down everyone’s throats with shitty products that replace products that actually worked.

My old dishwasher didn’t have coils and had stainless lining. Dishes were always completely dry. This dishwasher, same brand as the old one leaves plastic wet and the tops of mugs pooling water. I used a rinse aide in both dishwashers.

UPDATE SEE BELOW: Thanks for the explanation - doesn't advise if the DW is dry, just said no spots on the dishes. More importantly, I DO NOT want to apply a chemical to dry my dishes for any reason - more chemicals in bodies and the environment. When did dishwasher become such troublesome JUNK. What a hassle to return w/in the window of time, select another better (if even available) DW, prepare a whole day for delivery & protect the flooring to the kitchen from the delivery truck, dedicate another 1/2 day for the delivery & installation and NOT know if the new unit will be any better. Geeze - exhausted and annoyed already. Is there any manufacturer that makes a heated element for a real dry cycle?? UPDATE: HD picked up the crappy dishwasher & left the p-trap drain that connects to the DW un-capped & also the hot water connection at the angle stop. Tried to turn on the hot water at the faucet & nothing. Ran to get them in the truck, they came back & said the installer should have provided that part (really?!?!) & they don’t have any parts on the truck- suggested I go to HD & get the part. (Not open on New Year’s Day of course)…they left & I looked under the sink to see what I needed & found it flooded. I turned on faucet to see where it leaks and a 10’ blast shot out across the room (thankfully not my face). Cold water worked - until water began flowing out of the open PTRAP BIGTIME. So now defective DW has destroyed my sink base cabinet, I’m without a working kitchen sink, have to deal with a delivery insurance claim and see black mold already. If the manufacturers would just make a working dishwasher, NONE of this would have happened. Plus I need to find another dw and start all over again. Ffs. 🤦‍♀️ good times. NOT.

@@Donsappliances Technology is crap if it makes the product take longer to do it’s job, not actually do it’s job properly (drying the damn dishes) and having to buy more products like extra rinse aids to make it work. If someone buys a $2500 Thermador dishwasher and my 20 year GE that costs $300 works better…. Then there is a problem That’s like buying a SubZero fridge and your milk spoils in two days because the temperature in the fridge doesn’t get cold enough unless you go down to the store and put ice in it every day.

Is it critical to put a soap pod in the dispenser? I just throw the pods in the dishwasher loosely and my dishes look fine.

It's best to put them in the dispenser so they don't dissolve before the wash cycle begins. Unless your dishwasher manual says otherwise!

My dishwasher isn't broken, just lacks motivation. It makes a lot of noise, but a night out seems to make the squeaking stop. Although dishwashers have many cycles, the sales rep never warned me about the menstrual cycle. I really need to reach out to the manufacturer about that one. It has a lot of miles on it. But in the end, it's been extremely dependable. I thought about trading it in on a newer model. But I've become accustomed to all the little dings and imperfections. Also it doesn't take much to get it going. I've heard those newer models are high maintenance, demanding and very sensitive. I think I'll keep what I have, even if it does spit and sputter all over the place.
