I was in duliajan (OIL) for about 6 months. Great place. CLEAN AIR, WATER and LOVELY weather. Loved it. I also went to DIGBOI and could see crude oil seeping from the ground in tiny bubbles. ? (Even on concrete roads) While in Digboi, I was amazed to see an industrial engine BUILT DURING BRITISH PERIOD running on RAW CRUDE OIL even now....! You are blessed.

I totally can understand the Northeastern states concerns. India is unique and every state has its unique identity. I am from Goa , an indigenous person and we call ourselves Goans. After 1961 , when Goa ceased to be a province of Portugal, a mad rush of migrants (totally unskilled) from Karnataka , Maharashtra, UP , and rest of south and north India rushed to Goa. These people would Bribe the most corrupt politicians for jobs , Goa became industrialized , goans for the sake of employment left Indias shores to the middle east of Europe with Portuguese passports, and today we are a complete minority in our own land. The Demography of the place has changed 360 degrees . The ethnicity has gone , and the secularism that ones prevailed has disappeared, even though Goa was predominantly Christian , Goans welcomed and respected every religion. But today we are threatened in our very own land. Well here we are today.

It was all OK Mr. Gupta but you have missed a vital point i.e. Assam Accord. As per Assam Accord Assam already accepted all infiltrators infiltrated up to 25th March 1971 irrespective of religion unlike India where cut-off date is 1951. I would really appreciate it if you could clarify one doubt, If there are two genuine Indian men one Hindu the other a Muslim, who are illiterate and poor but have no documentation to prove there citizenship of india how will they prove there case. Specially if one is a Hindu and other is a Muslim but both are genuine Indians. Because as per me under the new CAB the Hindu does not have to show any documentation as he is a Hindu and will automatically come under CAB and then will come in NRC list. So basically non of the Hindus or other religion people except indian Muslims have to prove there citizenship or have to run around for there documentations. On the other hand all genuine Indian Muslims will have to run around to prove there citizenship if not they will be detained as per NRC. So basically we all Hindus have to do nothing as we are automatically under the new CAB Indian citizens and don’t have to run around for documents to prove our citizenship and will come in the NRC LIST automatically just because of my religion. But all genuine india Muslims have to run around to get there documentation regardless or get detained under the NRC. Why can’t you ask this example question in simple language so people can understand that this new CAB is wrong and is against Indian Muslims and not just for so called intruders. It is just to bother the Indian Muslim community.

I understand that CAB doesn't affect existing citizens. But targeted indirectly on illegal immigrants. BTW, if you read carefully even the refugees who come under the new CAB will go through vetting process. No shortcuts. On the other hand if there are Muslims from our beloved three neighbours, they are in India as economic migrants. They should leave and be jailed. If someone has falsely obtained passport aadhar card etc, they should leave India and the corrupt officers should be punished mercilessly. For Indian citizens why will there be a problem? @@rmns987 Hi, the Home Minsiter clearly announced in the Parliament that NRC would be applied to the rest if India as well and subsequently the CAA. So the comment really does make sense. Because NRC mandates that everyone whether legal or illegal settlers in India submits their proof of settlement to the government. You can imagine it like a flour sieve, if you have documents and submit and fortunately comes inside the list,lucky enough. But if you are out of the list, you should be one of the mentioned religious minority to be eligible to apply for citizenship. So in short, first NRC identifies you as an illegal immigrant and then CAA grants you citizenship on the basis of religion.

The very core idea of an united sense of origin is shifting. India is way too diverse for its own sake and now we are seeing the actual harm of an extremely diverse demography. Its to a point where people don't even like people from another state and ethnicity. At the end of the day the fact is tiny minority population gets eventually swamped by larger population especially if the smaller population is economically and socially backward. Besides Indian Democracy is about numbers. So where is the voice of these minorities with 2-3 MPs ? Reality must not be deluged by idea of integrating with Indian mainland with really huge proportion. Stats about NE people in Delhi, Bangalore,Chennai etc. cannot be used to trivialize the long term effects on the indigenous population.Within the grand scheme of things, these numbers are insignificant .
