Why Autodesk Revit is Perfect For Beginners

After years with archicad, under pressure "Bim is Revit, Autodesk is the leader" I tried switch to Revit. After three years I am back on Archicad, to protect my mental health and my desire to create. Revit is mainly used by those who have to, not those who wants to. There is no way to sketch, think and create in 3D like you can in Archicad. You must already have the building designed, and then you can put it into this 3D spreadsheet database known as Revit.

Hi, I am an architecture student. I previously used SketchUp, but now I use Revit. In my opinion, Revit is far better than SketchUp. Can you give me some examples of where Archicad is better than Revit?

i agree with you absolutely. archicad gives you the room to create and be creative. Revit is just too rigid imo

I’m a Mac user and a hobbyist on BIM. I’ll do my apartment plans myself. I like the Eng side, electrical pipes, water, and HVAC. I’ve already made a point cloud using 3dot, very precise using Apriltags I did a course on revit before, but I wish I had a native App com my Mac. Can I do this MEP on Archicad?

Tough question and comes down to personal preference, but I think Revit has an excellent cloud based rendering system which can produce amazing results even if you don't have the pc power

@@balotellidonna1167 no it’s not because it’s smart. It’s actually should come with some kind of warning. Imagine you’re working with an object otherwise known as a family inside of rivet it explodes if you change a certain parameter, it can’t compute how to do it so poof it disappears talk about disruptive family. .😂

@@MdMizanurRahman06 If you ve seen his other content, you would understand that no ones changes direction like that, unless he has nothing better to do. I personally use only Revit and not Archicad. Certainly Revit seems more established that Archicad, but definitely, way harder. Especially on the 3d side of things.

Use Revit before it was Revit , archivad the last few years. One is not better than the other, both have strength and weakness’s. My question is did you Revit on PC or Parallel’s Apple? Looks like Apple silicon (studio)on the desk not Intel. As all your videos very slick, well presented.

use to like your videos, until this. Archicad is the oldest and most innovative, smart, architect software, revit are for ingineers, but thats only because they dont know archicad :) yet

I agree with you it’s only good for MEP and Structural. I am hoping that Architect takes it to the next level where I can produce a panel electrical schedule inside of ArchiCAD and rebar as well. For now I have to be using plug-ins for ArchiCAD to do any rebar work. But yes, I am thinking that they paid him to do this. I mean what other reason would you want to talk about that software for architecture?😅

@@peterkiprop1 I used eptar reinforcement however the price, for it is ridiculous, and I am happy to announce that Architect is looking to develop their own reinforcement tool.

I'm assuming you approached Graphisoft to sponsor your content and they haven't responded? massive miss on their behalf if so... But also AutoDesk being the giant that it is, with nearly 2/3rds marketshare of architectural software and something crazy like 400x the revenue (AutoDesk total) their marketing department would be up to the hilt with cash, comparatively.

The guy is, despite of his falter for using rivet. Let’s beer in mind that he was paid. No realistic, respective architects are going to use rivet for architecture it’s just not the most dynamic thing to use unless your brain works more statically then I could understand. 😂
