Wtf? Syndra was like 15% and Shaco was over 60%, because Syndra tanked Irelia there and Shaco didn't. So yes, it was a very easy gank overall, though it did depend on Syndra not messing up. It also helped that Irelia was already behind or she would have gone 1v1. I think it had still been ok though if the wave stayed frozen on Syndra's side. I get that you guys think Irelia is broken, but what happened there was nowhere near what you make it sound like.

@@maou842 I'm not defending irelia but I don't think mage is supposed to one shot, they use their utility to win teamfight for their team which is why a 0/5 mage would be more useful than a bruiser or assassin

@@davidnguyen2474 I would argue that the vast majority of bruisers have more utility than something like a Syndra. There are multiple subcategories for both classes but for mages i think most of them are still considered ap carries. Whether an artillery mage like Ziggs, a battle mage like Ryze or a Burst mage like Syndra, if any of them is 0/5 and have no real kill thread on anybody they are 100% less usefull than a 0/5 bruiser, who atleast have decent base stats to work with. It's not just theory, I can confirm this from experience it regularly in-game.

I think to play good against a champ, you need to play him yourself. You will understand the abilities better and it will all become an overall easier thing. You can catch these in free rotations i guess, none of these are in this one, but some annoying champs are here. For example: I hated Yone matchups. Then I played him when he was in free rotation and understood what he does. Im never getting bullied by that champ ever again. - Average draft pick enjoyer

I don't have much trouble with Irelia on early levels, but level 5 and double long sword is already enough for her to only needing to tap W to get all casters on her Q range. Unless the lead I get on early levels is enormous, the more levels she gets scarier it becomes to walk up to the wave.

Yep and very likely also took shieldbash, the Fizz went for many really bad trades into 6 minions, this has nothing to do with high elo viktor gameplay, but instead with fizz messing up hardcore.

Bone plating is especially good into Fizz because Fizz has no ranged damage pre 6. He can't trade lvl 1-5 if you have bone plating because it stops his entire electrocute combo and lets you harass him on the backend. Thing is tho its not consistent into melee assassin, since many have some way to cheat boneplating, like it does just about nothing into Talon, Zed, Katarina and Qiyana for example, but Ekko, Fizz, Akali and Pyke can't really play around it.

I’m a Fizz player and I can tell you that baiting out his E is everything. It has an enormous mana cost especially when maxed first. It’s an extremely versatile ability but it’s were all his power budget is. Q is only for all-ins and W is just an auto attack. E is his only wave clear, his dodge, his main damaging tool, utility, a gap close, and his only escape tool. Most of mastering Fizz is good E management and most of shutting him down is punishing his E cooldown. Watch his mana and bait out E, then trade. Also watch out for level 16, his ult has a ridiculously low cooldown with the utility of a Thresh lantern and the damage to half health a squishy.

As a Fizz player, most people at average elo (silver-gold) don't play around his cds. The counter to most assassins is playing around their cds and being smart, if they don't get fed they will struggler later.

Ive watched three mins in by now, and well, fizz can walk through units and has a flat dmg reduction agianst basic attacks. So fizz is surprisingly resillient to both champion and minion attacks early on.

My issue with going against Fizz is how shitty it feels when you get behind early. Like you can/should beat him early, but if you make one mistake, he can easily dominate you the rest of the laning phase... It doesnt make him a good champ; it just makes him annoying/stressful.

What most players don't realise is that control mages and adcs are the hardest champions in the game to pilot cause they are glass cannons. If you overstep you are dead most of the time. I would advice you to stay away from syndra, viktor and ori rather than irelia.

Play to not snowball. Survive lane and you become a nuke for the enemy team. You have energy so you have ability advantage. Run away with ms buff when she places e. Cs with q if you need to concede. Seekers into zhonya's to use for her ult if you feel she may be powerful.

You have two items and a pool of health. Irelia have the tools to stop you from using your two items and with one item she have the tools to do away with your health pool. Funnily enough, if you build health and resistances, you still cannot beat her, because she have the tools to do away with your increased health pool despite you now having a chance to use a few skills. This means the only way to win over her after she got her core item is to roam and help your support to end the laning phase and come help you. Or roam and get your toplaner ahead. After that your toplaner might be able to deal with Irelia and you might be able to deal with the underfed enemy toplaner. This all depend on matchups of course. I still think Irelia is too strong. Best thing to do is to pick from the overpowered champs, not the champs you like. Sad.

This. I was giga stomping an Irelia as Lulu mid and as soon as she got botrk she could just dive me non stop with no counterplay. Funny champ. The fact that they also use Syndra, possibly the biggest lane bully in the game to showcase counterplay is incredibly dumb. Tf you're gonna do as a melee champ if she simply freezes the lane. Post first back she can jump on you from half a mile because for some reason she can oneshot casters with Q now.

@@CaNdYGiRl3501 Sylas, Yasuo, Akali, Kassadin, Yone, Zed, Talon, Katarina, Qiyana, Irelia, Ekko, Galio, Pyke are the ones I can think of so far. Sylas can outtrade and steal ult, Yasuo is skill matchup, Akali you have to bait E, then hide in shroud, Kassadin you play like a regular Kassadin AND STAY THE FUCK BACK, Yone might be a challenge, but try and E-E his R, Zed can easily harass with Q and W, same for Talon with W, just don't count on lvl 2 kill, Katarina might be a challenge, Qiyana you gotta harass with Q and dodge everything you can dodge (so E and R) with your own abilities, Irelia you just W when he goes in, his ult is very predictable, Ekko is eh, Galio has magic shield advantage, and Pyke... well not like you gonna stay in lane anyways, but if Fizz uses E for anything than dodge your CC, he'll die easily

I main kata, akali,yas,azir mid . Yas fizz def isnt a skill matchup and katarina vs fizz is also a hard matchup for kat. I just have to give up a lot of cs or I die because I cant fight him. Akali may be one of the easier matchups because akalis kit is absolutely broken. My point ist if you are in a bad matchup against fizz its very hard to win lane or to go even out of lane without dying while managing to be even in CS which is quite hard to pull pf if the enemy fizz freezes as u said. And your jungle surely isnt always smart enough to help u break the freeze.

Irelia is not a hard match up at all, you just wait for her to Kamikaze under your tower because she wants to outplay herself and be an anime ween all the time. Plus you can rush anti heal to counter her too. I'm guessing that people in low ELO are very robotic when it comes to itemization and often build their "main" item first without considering the match up. I've bitten irelia, zed, yasuo, yone, and even ADCs with both fizz and Galio and I'm confident to say that i rarely loose lane. a majority of my loses are because I've failed to impact the map properly, but aside from that i win laning phase using patience and good itemization.

I have a specific question about recalls after kills. Lets say I kill my opponent but I'm low, and on a fairly low waveclear champ, like say LB, and I know if I use my mobility to clear the wave there's a chance the enemy shaco appears behind me and kills me, but if I don't shove the wave I'll come back to a terrible wave state, but even if I try I'm not sure I can do it in time. Could you go over what to do when you don't think you can't get an ideal recall off a crash or freeze, or how to weigh the cost/benefit of working for a crash while you're in a vulnerable position?

i dont think there's a correct answer for that. honestly ik what you're talking about and one the one thing i count on is this. in case i use spells and the wave isn't pushed in time, meaning i have to stay to keep auto attacking enemy minions once the enemy mid laner spawns and comes to lane, do I have enought HP to survive his spell rotation or do i just die to his combo? if i die, i just recall, cause if i stay and die, its terrible wave state + even gold now since we both got 1 kill. if it doesn't kill I stay and auto the shit out of the wave. about the junglers, honestly its just a coin flip at that point

As far as the jg one thing I try and look for, besides if I see the enemy jg in another lane, is is there another play going on on the map that the enemy jg would have to choose between if he came to me - like is there a dive happening top, and if he kills me he couldn't counter that - so there is a choice he has to make besides me being totally free, that and when I do use my mobility (or for a mage my cc) so its the very last thing I do to the wave, not the first thing, so I hold it as long as possible. I'm also more likely to stay if the enemy jg is someone like graves, trundle, xin, who just has to walk at me, versus something like Zac, Shaco, fiddle, that can come out of nowhere right on top of you.

To be completly correct: taking kill was probably a mistake on it's own. The correct approach is to either chunk enemy down enough they have to base, but not commiting to killing them for any prize, if they back, they lose famr and exp from shoved wave, trhey stay, you kill them under turret. Even if you die, you shoved a wave so you end up in advantage, both in gold and exp and with wave state after returning too. And even without killing them under turret, clear recall timing with a frezze potential after returning is better than scoring kill.

The moment syndra pressed that q on the wave at 13:35 she cant just adapt and let irelia push into her. She doesnt have the agency on how Irelia behaves towards the wave, its just really bad by the Irelia to push this in a moment, where she could just enjoy a slow push into her, making sure she stays safe. If syndra dares hyrassing Irelia under Tower like in the first lower elo example she could potentially be ganked, dunno the enemy jungler and she threatens her self to be all inned by a lvl 2 Irelia this was not played right by the syndra, but missplayed by the irelia. Same thing with the fizz who many times decided to yolo trade into 6 minions and a Viktor with early game tankyness runes instead of the first one, who had first strike, which is a horrible rune for bullying.

Yes, finally someone mentioned this. The high elo plays do not actually show how to play better on mages, if anything it shows how broken these assassins are, that even by playing badly they get to masters... I am not saying, that these irelia and fizz play the same every game, but these types of videos always focus on mages, yet never actually analyze what is the opponent doing, like when low elo viktor traded with fizz at the start they rightfully said, that this was a mistake and he should not have played that way, but when high elo fizz went into viktor and facetanked whole minion wave he was apparently just "tired of being zoned".

For these exact reasons I get a lead on fizz nearly every game. No one punishes for hitting wave. At lvl 1 I’ll wait to level an ability, if they actually pressure me I start E to get the first 3 minions with. If they don’t pressure I know I can go W for free

I played this match up as the syndra vs Irelia recently. I did what I'm supposed to, chunking her low and killing her early. But irelias one of those champions that can beat you once they get a few levels and basic components. At about level 7 or so she just killed me from 0 stacks in the middle of the lane when the minions met in the middle. I had exhaust and stun, but she still wins even if you have a lead. Still won tho, I've found irelia just becomes very useless in team fights since she's all single target dps.

Pretty correct, I’m a dirty Irel main, a lot of people don’t realise what you said They spend a bunch of the early game trying to win the 1v1 or not respecting her strength, and I win so many games off that alone When I vs opponents who space and respect it, it makes it very hard to snowball a game, cause you need to be strong to survive in team fights

Irelia is indeed really strong in 1v1, but when ur skill gets higher she actually can do better in 1v2 or even 1v3 because she can heal off of unsteady stacks. My first time playing her, i went on not im getting 3 man ganked but cant run lemme see if i can kill em. I did

Then you punish the roam by crashing the wave and taking plates; if you can't (bcz wave too big or idk what), it means fizz got himself a window of opportunity to freely roam, which is a good play by him, given that you are ahead. He basically just outplayed you

@@alessandrozucchelli4090 the main problem with this strat is a double kill bot is worth more gold than 1-2 plates. In order for this to work you HAVE to set up good vision and warn your side laners to prevent them from dying to the roam.

Sure the gold advantage might be worth more depending on if he gets 1 or 2 kills, however tower plates create better gold income garuntee (he loses if he doesn't come back) plus you get more gold from the minions(15 cs= 1 kill) plus more xp, plus pressure on the lane to actually force him to have to show back into you when you're back so you can freeze or set up for a gank

The fact that low elo team fight also very good for assassin that don't know about match up. they all think that 2 vs 1 mean 2 will win without the need to dodge the skill, or worst, can't dodge the skill. Also the situation that going alone and got killed letting enemy to catch up. The lanning phase is just a small part of why those 2 is good in low elos.

Like all the comments are saying , u always Share tips and videos of the 1st 5 levels of the lane .. that's not the problem at all ! like people said , those type of champs are scary even when behind once they get some levels and an item "Which is completely insane cause they'r suppose to get ahead early or be useless" but it feels like they scale better than Mages !!! . u can beat Yone in lane but once he get T2 boots or even Mythic .. Good luck then ! same goes with Irelia / Zed , etc .. yes u get SOME lead in early 5 levels .. but they Back and get back with full Hp and some items and now they'r Level 6 .. u can't Harras freely anymore , and u'r lead isn't big enough anymore when they have an item or so .

Yes they did, notice how Fizz dodged Viktors autoattack by using e. Then Viktor autoattacks Fizz and all 3 ranged creeps + 1 melee attacked him, one melee already died and the other got creepblocked and lost aggro quickly

So funny thing, I used this exact strategy as Zoe vs Fizz and kinda stomped him. I was 2/0 against him, and then once he hit 6, even with only a component item, he just ulted from wave, flash ignite and full comboed me under tower and I just died before I even got back down from the knockup.

Or was he able to follow that with a prio that gets rift, drake, or back up a jg invade? Or was he so low that the wave is terrible when he gets back? A kills context is important.

@@nickeastmusic9930 Fizz E animation is faster than the windup for Zoe R, and he can hold it longer than Zoe is portaling. It's possible to win the mind game as Zoe, but statistically speaking, Fizz is going to win that standoff most of the time. Also Zoe can't press R while knocked up by Fizz shark, it's kind of a knockup, and unlike Yone, portaling back with "good timing" doesnt cleanse the knockup.

I think the biggest problem with league guides is that they tell you what to do, NOT how to do them. When I was learning back then, I never even came across any guides on fundamentals. They'd teach you how to play or how to practice last hits or about towers and champion roles/sub roles, but not fundamentals like creep wave management and all the micros/macros.

Because those things arent important until you get a higher rank. Sure wave management alone will get you to plat, but when youre in plat you will just get bullied because you dont understand recall timings, champion damage, objectives, etc.

When assassins one shot ppl with 2 abilities, that usually mean they four levels ahead of ADCs. An example of 2 abilities would be Fizz W + Q. He can just E in range then delete me from full HP with the point and click W + Q combo.

Fizz/Talon roams whenever (some of them give up cs just to make my life miserable). I can sit at my inhibitor turret until they show mid again but I’m losing a ton of xp and gold. I’m the ADC that gets perma camped no matter what (as in I can have a wave frozen at my side 24/7 and still have 4 ppl come for me all the time) so I can’t get any xp/gold unless I want to die
