Everything you said in this video is just so so true! When Iron Gwazi opens it will definitely be that Coaster the park really needed so it can pull itself together. For right now personally I heard they are waiting for the”right time” to open the ride to its guests. The ride is ready and stuff it’s just a matter of when will BGT find the right time to open this monstrosity of a ride.

I’m hearing they’re putting off opening to 2022. A combo of reasons, but predominantly RMC won’t finish testing until they get paid (3.5 million lien against SEAS), and BGT wants full crowd exposure/benefit which they won’t get now because of capacity restrictions, and the soon to open Velocicoaster (and Ratatouille in the fall).

This is definitely a post-Coaster Wars point of view. In the 1990s heyday of monster multi-loopers, Kumba and Montu could be the main courses of a theme park.

I remember when they were the big attractions. Kumba was wild, but Montu really stuck in my young mind. Took me over 20 years to get around to going back and reliving some of those memories. Now my wife and I are annual pass members 🤌 her favorite is Montu, but IG is absolutely insane ❤ my #1 by a LOT

These RMC’s are just the filling that finishes the meal. You have the mashed potatoes, asparagus, grilled vegetables, hollandaise sauce, your drink of choice, but it’s just missing something. That RMC just makes your meal full with the RMC as the steak or burger.

When i went to the park in 2018, it was really quiet, every ride had 5 minute queue time max and it was a awesome time. I did manage to get on gwazai back in 2013 so that is a plus. I have been to the park 3 or 4 times and it is my most favourite in Florida

I went to BGT and had an amazing time. None of my rides were number one but Kumba cracked my top 5 and as of now Kumba and Montu are in my top 10. I love this park a lot because I love animals and so I had so much fun. The park isn’t just rides and it felt like I could spend just as much time here as a park like Great Adventure. I did leave kind of early as I did everything once and a couple of rides twice but Falcons Fury was closed and I just had so much fun going all around the park. The park looks beautiful and I would take this over Great Adventure because even though Great Adventure has the coaster, I think BGT does everything else better. This is in my top 3 parks along with Cedar Point and Islands of Adventure.

I agree that Iron Gwazi will benefit the park immensely, but I think it’s an exaggeration to say the park just had “filler” coasters. The big 5 coasters there are all unique and great rides in their own right. A park with actual “filler” would be like Canada’s Wonderland, where 80% of the coasters are mediocre stuff like SLC’s and Volares.

I have to disagree with you. While BGT is not Cedar Point, Montu, Sheikra, Kumba, and Cheetah Hunt are all top tier coasters. Iron Gwazi will be the standout as icing on the cake...but if this park got a solid giga, it would easily be a top 3 park for me. Unlike so many other parks with more coasters, BGT actually has quality all around...even more supporting coasters like Tigris, Scorpion, and Cobras Curse are all great. The only weak coaster in the park is the kiddie coaster. How many parks can say that?

The park has at least 4 that were standout when they opened, but have lost their freshness. Like BGW, BGT looks to need a new standout, and something with more edge or teeth than their current lineup as well. Preferably RMC or RMC-ish. Also will remove the confusion of not knowing what's supposed to be on top, and the others move nicely into the main body and supporting roles.

Freshness? If a coaster is good, it’s good. I don’t care how ‘new’ a coaster is. I care how good the ride is. Haunted Mansion is still one of the best dark rides ever even though it’s 50 years old. Maverick is 14 years old but still one of the best at Cedar Point. Raging Bull is still my fave at Six Flags Great America. It’s 22. Montu is still the best invert to me at 25 years old. Age means nothing....and at least we know Busch Gardens is addressing the ‘issue’ of ‘fresh and new’ by still adding new coasters. I expect a hyper or giga in the next few years.

I rarely ride new coasters or go to different parks and it's still great, but there is an extra excitement when there is something new. And in this case it looks like the ride will be all that, a big add whether they need it or not! But no I don't think BGT will get a hyper in a few years, they're getting one this year. 206'

BGT is one of the best parks in the country... but not because of its coaster lineup. Iron Gwazi will help it greatly in that regard. They could also use a B&M Giga for some floater air to go with Iron Gwazi's ejector. I'd also like to see them add a Gravity Group family woodie. Then, the lineup would be elite.

I visited this park as an enthusiast before the idea of RMCing Gwazi was even a thing and I loved it. Probably my favorite park besides CP and Dollywood. Such a fantastic lineup!! I think many enthusiasts are disappointed with it now because they see Iron Gwazi SBNO from all around the park. If it wasn’t there at all, they would love the park.

This Video was very good! I completly agree with what you said, i experienced Heide Park with Colossos and was happy that i didnt visit in the 3 years it was down. Aside from the beloved intamin prefab there is just a 30 second dive coaster, a 20 second launch coaster and a good wing coaster (+SLC and smaller Arrow Looper) Again i agree on what you say

I agree because bgt is my home park and I thought it was one of the best parks in the US but then I went to cedar point and almost everything that have there beat the rides at bgt. Don't get me wrong I think it is still a great park but they are missing something. During the summer I am going to close to all of the parks in Texas so I am exited to see if I get a new line up.

I live in Orlando but I consider BGT my home park because I have been going there since I was a kid on vacation. Anyways in the 90’s and even into the 2000’s it was an amazing park. The three B&Ms were all top of their class when they came out. But I would agree with you - in the past decade (which coincides with new ownership), they’ve been focusing more on family rides and theming. I’m assuming this is to compete with the FL market but it’s made the park rather lackluster with mid-tier rides that are geared more towards the GP and disappointing for enthusiasts. Ironically, when I’ve been visiting lately, Tigris and Scorpion have been my favorite rides, along with Falcons Fury which really is a gem. Those two provide the most intense rides in the park IMO, so I think you may have been missing out by skipping them. That being said, yes, the park is in desperate need for an RMC, and it’s absolutely KILLING me that they are keeping complete radio silence on the thing. I have a pass so I’ll still go even before they open it, but every time I do it’s just painful to look at what is arguably the best coaster in the world (at least top 10) just sitting there collecting dust. I have no idea what their strategy is - the only thing I can think is that they really still owe RMC money as was detailed in Airtime Thrills’ video. BGT is a local park anyways, and although they certainly will get a big bump from enthusiasts when they open IG, it isn’t going to attract a huge GP crowd from around the world. IMO if they miss the summer deadline and don’t time it with Velocicoaster and Ice Breaker they have totally lost their hype train. I know the pandemic was unfortunate, and they may be hoping to time it just perfectly to get the maximum buzz off of it, but at a certain point you just have to cut your losses and just open the damn thing, and focus on the next big coaster in 3-4 years, which will probably be a more traditional B&M hyper or giga. I don’t know. If anyone else has a theory I’m happy to hear it but at this point I’m considering skipping a year or two on my pass because the company just keeps making boneheaded decisions. I’ll just get a Cedar Fair pass and go to Carowinds and CP instead. The flight from FL to Ohio isn’t much more than the drive to Tampa. Thanks for the content nonetheless. I like your channel and although I don’t agree that Cheetah Hunt is anywhere near my number one, I do think it’s underrated and is a must ride every time I go, especially at night. It was even better with the water effects though. Hopefully those will make a comeback soon. Take care and keep them coming!

I think they're kind of riding on the 90's when a bigass invert was acceptable as an anchor/main attraction. From Batman the ride until Apollo's Chariot & Intamin's mega-coasters, inverts were the big hotness for parks that couldn't break overall height & speed records.

My first trip to BGT was back in February. While I did enjoy my time there, I didn't really find any coasters to be major standouts (Although my most anticipated ride, Montu, was closed the day of my visit). I rode Cheetah Hunt, Sheikra, Tigris, Montu, and Scorpion; Cheetah Hunt was easily my favorite of those. The next day, I went to SeaWorld Orlando, and was absolutely blown away by their coasters. Mako was my first B&M hyper, Manta was my first flying coaster, and I think Kraken is better than both Kumba and Krypton Coaster at Fiesta Texas. I still have many more parks to visit, but man I love SeaWorld in Orlando.

man I just went on velocicoaster after going to BGT, same day. I think you are sort of right about it being a half day park, but only if you want to chain all your coasters together. Animals are cool AF, the BBQ place is pretty damn good too. Overall, I think it was my favorite park until Velocicoaster opened. It might regain that slot after Gwazi, but velocicoaster made a tall order to live up to. That ride was easily top 2 rides I've ever been on. Your ranking is odd. I never understand people who like Kumba, things a damn headache machine.

I am not sure Iron Gwazi is going to do all that much with the GP and park attendance. Every day it looks more likely it will not open until 2022. All for a ride that a lot of the GP will think is just the original rough and not liked Gwazi reopening after 10 years of sitting idle. And how could they not think this as the ride is still called Gwazi and it will have been sitting for over 2 years as Iron Gwazi.

I consider the top 2 in Montu and Cheetah Hunt very different one from the other, but what I really miss about this park wouldn't even be that landmark coaster, but at least one or two thrill flat rides. Falcon's Fury is great, but they need something else (Phoenix sucks) - really wanna see that S&S Screamin' Swing in this park

So...... cheetah hunt is a family coaster. Montu is amazing, kumba is one if the best old school B&M's in the world, sheikra is decent, but not great. Cobras curse is one of the best family coasters I have ever ridden, and those premier sky rocket 2's are really good clones. You must have had a terrible day

I wentto Busch Gardens earlier this week. Iron Gwazi was insane and was really the reason for my visit. I found the park to have a pretty good lineup, not the greatest, but solid. I think Iron Gwazi was a big part of that, without it, it would be lacking. As far as lineups go, while Busch Gardens was good, I think Hersheypark in Pennsylvania has a better lineup.

when I went to BGT it was so crowded and I had a evening and night and a full day the next day i rode kumba sheikra scorpion and cheetah hunt and im like MAN this is good but I want more Montu didnt fix it neither did cobras curse but gwazi it did gwazi was just so Good Not as Good as velocicoaster or steve for me but it’s 3 out of 242 it makes it complete and about the cedar point reference I think maverick would hold it’s own as a center piece for the park
