If you listen to Bill's podcast she sometimes gets involved when he has a question for her and they have great banter. He's definitely more chill when off stage but not a huge jump from his on stage persona.

He has a podcast that he's dragged his wife onto at times. It's the greatest. Imagine the kind of woman that can go toe to toe with him and not take his shit but at the same time make him laugh and laugh at his jokes. She's even called him out on the misogyny and the type of knuckleheads it attracts.

My favorite is when he said she'll blame him like he produced the music Btw that's true, there were studios in the 1950s and 1960s that would have white singers cover Motown and other black songs. "psychotically overthink" lol I do that too P/s And the way you pronounced that was adorable

I've followed Bills career since the early 00's and honestly meeting and marrying Nia is the best thing he ever did. A big chunk of his best comedy nuggets seem to stem from the fact that these 2 have arguments where even if they get heated always seem to end up laughing at each other and he can fashion a comedy bit out of as she's not a meek woman and she'll constantly challenge him and sometimes great comedy or even great art can stem from a little adversity

It shows a great observation on being in a "Bi-Racial" relationship or marriage. There are times when don't want offend your partner when issues like race issues, in particular, come up in events around the world, or even in your home town. It's best to discuss the matter, and feel what your partner truly feels. Understanding is a key to true love.

“He’s not a good actor.” Apparently, Bill has never seen King Creole or some of Elvis’ earlier movies. He had a lot of acting ability. He just rarely got a chance to show it because the boy meets girl movies made so much money and the serious roles didn’t. Wild In The Country, Love Me Tender, Flaming Star and the highly underrated Change of Habit are Elvis’ other standout performances. But he had sleep problems and got hooked on uppers and downers while in the army and the addiction got worse over time. His recreational drug use was very minimal. He wasn’t a big drug user in that sense. Again, it’s always the prescription drugs that will get you. Look at Michael Jackson Vs Keith Richards. Keith is still alive, in some form. Elvis took LSD once with Priscilla and it scared them so much that they never did it again.

Hi Diane, hope you doing well. Love your Lauren Bacall-ish hair style. A funny thing happened on the day Elvis died. I was about 17, and my mom called from work. My mom was a big Elvis fan and when I told her Elvis had died she was dumbstruck. She asked me if I was sure and I said I just heard it about 5 minutes ago. She then shouted the news to her coworkers. She worked for the federal government in Dallas, and I could hear the pandemonium in the background, and according to my mom that branch of the federal government was essentially shut down for the next 2 hours. Give my love to Chewie, and I give mine to you. Have a great week and goodbye for now!

That’s absolutely not true though about Elvis. He performed songs that black artists had previously performed. So they believe he stole their songs. They didn’t actually write them either though. He gave credit to the actual writers all the time. Hound Dog for example was first performed by Big Momma Thornton. So they believe he stole it. It was actually written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Two Jewish guys. He was actually close to the black community. He grew up in a mostly black community.

The interesting coincidence is that I’m groggy today and 3 hours late because I was up until the wee wee hours of the morning watching Elvis which I presume is the very music documentary Bill and his wife were watching. His honesty about going too far for the joke is both hysterically funny and one of my worst habits. But I’m still on the wonder and horror of the tragedy that was Elvis’s life and career. It’s a story that I knew pretty well beforehand because one of my high school friends was an Elvis Collecting nut. Mike bought two copies of every album in every edition, including international albums, one to play and one to keep sealed. In addition, he went and saw Elvis play and took high quality photos of Elvis in concert whenever and however he could afford to. When Elvis died, I saw a personal example of how crushed a human being could be at the death of a beloved artist. Cultural Anthropology teaches its students not to put mores of the day onto people of the past. The movie makes crystal clear that Elvis was encouraged to participate in the music of Rhythm and Blues, to be present, when safe, back stage, in the room, and was invited to do so. I encourage anyone interested in these issues to watch the documentary 5 or 6 times. 10 times if needed and pay attention. I can tell you from my lifetime of experience that the film is carefully, lovingly and subtly done. Respect is given to the music and all the musical performers we see. Even the confused white singers who have their own deep tunnel vision of what the future should be. You might guess that this film hit me deeply. I’ll say this, it’s the first time I ever saw a white man react in a film the way I did as an 8 year old child in the Grand Crossing neighborhood of Chicago in 1968 to the death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. One last thing. B.B. King, the Legendary Blues musician plays an important part in this film. For those interested in such things I found a clip of him singing live in 1980 about 4 years before I heard him play in Grant Park in Chicago in 1984. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYrJZ2qLgK6Cfbs

Sorry if others mentioned this already, but *_Bill Burr_* has a lot of content online, including a weekly podcast. Also clip shows from said podcast. Occasionally his wife, *_Nia,_* will chime in. There's plenty to take a look at, and it's worth checking out. From those examples, what little I've gleaned is that he's far from chill at home. However, he has been working on that. As far as being a comedian versus not, then yeah, I suppose you can say he's not always _"on."_ But he has had issues with his temper all his life. And that's something he's been working on a great deal. Especially since becoming a father. He talks at length about this, and as I noted, it's really worth looking into if you're a fan. Keep up the delightful videos! They're a really wonderful break at the end of my day. _Be well!_ 🙋🏼‍♂️ ~T. Patrick Kelly¹ ··•●✺●•·· ¹ ─ Just had to shine a light on the Irish heritage just a tad. 😁
