I’m a black woman who lives in Chicago and to be honest when I walk down the street 8/10 I see the same type of black man. A man with pants hanging off his butt an oversized shirt and flat bill hat. I look at that man and think Nope he’s not a hardworking man. And no I don’t live on the south or west side. Men need to stop dressing like they don’t care about themselves. This style is some prison style that has been adapted over the years that black people shouldn’t subscribe to. I have a sister who has 3 kids unmarried and only makes $400/week and I never understood why she had so many kids. People act like they have no responsibility for their actions. Those poor kids don’t even have money for school lunch sometimes. Their dad has 3 other kids by 2 different women. And he has no job. He too dresses like this. Which is why when I see men like this I turn the other way. If not just for myself but for my future children. Stop being selfish and lazy. Get a job even it’s working at McDonald’s go to night classes at a community college n get a certificate to make more money. Stop having kids that don’t have money to eat. Be a MAN. There is no real excuse to not take care of your family.

@DCfan6767 I'm an old white gal who lives in a small city. The black men I see here are as you described...Something I did notice though...and maybe this is why black men do not stay with black women...I see black wives/girlfriends "wear the pants"! They yell, shame, belittle their men in public so God only knows what they do at home...They are down-right BOSSY/BITCHY...For years and years, I saw a down-trend in racism...I saw many a white grandparent pushing a shopping cart around proudly with their little black grand babies in it! I saw all sorts of interracial couples, hand in hand, walking together, mushing on each other...I saw blacks, whites, hispanics all working together - WHOLE LOTTA LOVIN' GOIN' ON among people of all color, all races, all creeds...but what I noticed was people like Hillary Clinton, OBama, Black Lives Matter, the Media fueled dying embers into a huge flame, dividing a country and inciting hatred among the people...all people. OBama is not our first BLACK President...He is half white, but you never heard him acknowledge any of that...He was always portraying himself as black. When he talked about white people HE was very racist!...I don't understand Blacks calling themselves African American...Africa is a continent with many countries...So, do they relate to the WHOLE continent...all of the countries there? Like, I don't go around saying I am European-American. It is good to know and remember history of your ancestors...but white people are being forever punished for things that happened in the past...way past. And when people bring up the Native Americans and how whites stole their land, Native Americans are not one nation. there used to be over 450 native American tribes in North America. These tribes were NATIONS...And these nations fought and killed each other. They overtook territories, stole wives, horse, possessions... And as for the Mexican people...there wasn't originally Mexican people...There were native Indians who lived in that area who's women were taken as wives when Cortez (from Spain) and his men came to the region...and THAT is where you get the Spanish dialect...The problems we have aren't about white, black, Christian, Muslim, rich, poor...etc this is about living right, making right choices. Forget the birth control "responsible" thing to do...How about not sleeping with people that we are not married to? It all boils down to LOVE, loving one another...

Vicki K as ive grown up I don’t like being called African American I’m black American or just American. Ironically it’s black people or immigrants who want you to claim Africa so badly. I’ve had foreigners ask me where r u from and I say I’m American. And they re like don’t u want to know where u are really from. Newsflash being American is not only for White people. My family has been here since the 1600s what do u mean where I’m really from. Black people try to make u feel bad about it. Embrace your African heritage. Okay but I’m American so which do u want me to claim. Obama is as much white as he is black. But too many people still follow the one drop rule. Black people already claiming Meghan Merle’s baby and he/she will probably not even look black. Meghan doesn’t look black but if u read the comments black people act like she’s not white at all. Mixed babies are MIXED not just black. You should acknowledge their whiteness just as much as their blackness. And not all black women yell at their men in public. I’ve never seen that. I rarely seen women yelling at men in public of any race. Unless the man has really crossed the line.

The funny thing is I am a black woman and I married a white man because of the exact same reasons he stated in this video. I married my husband because we both liked the same things. My husband also showed me what it was to be a man that takes care of his wife and family, the sad thing is I never saw that in the world I grew up in. That is BS! Because race is a factor too... and its okay! If you prefer white meat, that is not racist... some people like Chinese meat and some like Arabs. The only people who are racist are those Who do not have a Choice to Love freely. The race is a huge factor. Media creates our ideals. A black man may want a Disney princess in his Bed and a Girl that speaks like Chris Rock or some Ghetto super star doesnt suit his fantasy, Could you blame him? Since black guys can go fish for white women, why bother to settle for a black girl, who calls customer service hotlines and act like she is a thug of steel. Racism is created by how people choose to behave. People who did customer service jobs would tremble or shiver when they hear the voice of a black women. When a black customer calls it would mean they will lose that bonus or that promotion. Then they start hating and stereotyping. We just all act like we are beautiful and well mannered then less hate and discrimination. No need to act according to your stereotype.

To put more of a point on that, I'm white too and my dad is still alive, and in many ways he was a good dad but a terrible disciplinarian and father. He allowed me to go astray as a teen, which ended up destroying my life. I take ownership for my bad choices, but I'm only trying to highlight how incredibly important it is for young children not only to have a father who is around, but more importantly one why is engaged in your development and guiding you to make good life decisions. Not one who is self absorbed. That's what I now strive for as a father. To love my children enough to care about the fullness of their life experience, from birth until the life hereafter. 🥰☦️🙏

Smiles and the Twisted MD Be nice, bcuz it’s easy!! Actually, everyone could use a little therapy. Clearly you missed the point, you can’t separate a person from their color and to act as if it’s a non issue is what “vilifies” the person by making them a non entity. You can’t erase someone’s race and think it’s ok...while “racism” is a sin, race should be embraced. And just bcuz someone has another opinion, don’t be mean, it’s just not a best practice....you could have asked me for clarity rather than try to read into my message negatively

Smiles and the Twisted MD Ive not made one “racist” comment micro or macro...the fact that you get to “ignore” someone’s race is an abomination to that person as we were all created within the confines of one race or another....that IS HUMANITY, to accept and embrace. You used words like vilify and hate when I’ve done no such thing, I’m simply shedding light on one of the issues the world is facing, “race”!! I didn’t take away anything from your friends relationship, on the contrary, the (whole) man, is a part of their union, not just his gender.
@NameUnimportant4 жыл бұрын
Patricia Bellinger I really think you’re missing the point. I believe the problem is that you and a lot of other bw put TOO much emphasis on color and it causes issues (obviously). It’s only women I hear who make comments like that. I’ve never heard a man out so much stock in the color of his skin. What the woman was saying was that it should never be a question why someone married someone of another race. She responded with she didn’t marry a “black man” she married a MAN who happens to be black. She’s saying she would’ve married him regardless if he was black green or red. A lot of BW have an issue when WW day they don’t see color or they see everyone the same. Y’all take that as color being dismissed or ignored, etc. That’s not the case at all. They’re just saying they don’t give a shit what color you happen to be. They like that person based on who that person is, not the color of skin they have.

I care about how I’m treated by another person, how that person treats others and themselves, I care about what we have in common, and overcoming what we don’t have in common. I don’t care for people that can’t or refuse to communicate politely with other people or get angry at the tiniest of disagreement. I have a lot of friends and they are all different, but the one thing that remains that same is that we can have a conversation without yelling at one another and we can agree to disagree on somethings. We pick our battles. So nothing pleases me more than when I see kids playing together and learning how to interact with each other and while noticing their differences they learn those differences don’t really mean much when you can accept each other and just have fun together. So I have hope even though there is a powerful race industrial complex in our society where experts, academics, politicians, and media all collude to try to make us hate one another. All of these folks live upper crust lifestyles while chastising the homeless white guy, and being paternalistic towards the successful black man. Neither of those scenarios set well with people because the homeless man isn’t privileged and the successful man didn’t need your help to get his. Robyn DiAnglo talks about white fragility in an effort to make herself a white woman a healthy truckload of the real privilege: money. She’s counting these dollars because she knows when you back a person into a corner they fight and that will create more hate and more for her to write about and get paid a lot to do so. Her speaking engagements already top 10 thousand for 45 mins of rubbish. Even with powerful people like this in the world, I have faith because it’s hard to hate people that you know and they haven’t done anything to you, and it’s even harder to hate friends that you know well, and whether the pocketbooks of these racialists like it or not the world is getting closer today even as the NYT screams racial attitudes are the worst they’ve been in a decade. I look around and I know that it is just anecdotal, but I see more kids of all colors playing together than I ever have. Hope is real and the future is great.

Ben Shapiro made the same comment about culture and not race in a debate about black disadvantages. The audience and black debaters reacted and laughed at him and then he dropped the facts bomb about fatherless homes, abortions, crime and education and left the other debaters speechless. It was a boss moment for Ben but sad moment for the clueless debaters and audience who just got a slap of reality. Great vid to watch and pairs with what Officer Tatum is talking about.

I taught in an all black school for seven years. It grieved me to hear some black people refer to other black people as "talking white." It grieved me because I knew that the people who were using standard English would stand a better chance at employment and success in employment. It is just fine to use slang words but it is better if you can use both standard English and "slanged English" and, then, choose which language form you want to use, depending on where you are. (I do not advocate using the phrase "talking white" because standard English does not belong to white people. Ironically, many white people today are choosing street slang over standard English.)

The ability to communicate effectively is essential, the English language is pretty standard in the way its taught so we should at least grasp the basics of the language to effectively communicate with others. The way English is spoken differs culturally from place to place but a good foundation in the standard language bridges the gap.

I am a black woman born and raised in the Bahamas. Most of my leaders, teachers, doctors and local tv stars were black. I have pictures of me with a black Santa as a child. I moved to the US for college and could never relate to African Americans. My parents taught me if I worked hard and got an education I could be or do anything. Life in general is not fair and can be difficult. My work ethic has helped me to be successful in my career. Bahamian men and women live traditional gender roles without any one feeling less than. I grew up watching my mother serve my father. I also saw my father protect and support his family. Both of them took care of the family. I am in an interracial relationship. I was attracted to his love for Jesus, the culture and also not making excuses. I could not imagine being led by a man who felt he could be held back if God is with him.

D Smith the most relatable comment for me. As a black person raised in Africa, I am completely unable to relate to the black experience in America. I come from a culture where personal responsibility, especially for men, is the mark of adulthood and maturity. There's types of defeatist race traps (conversations and attitudes) that, especially, African American males engage in that is distressing and off putting. Plus the communal trauma suffered for lack of consistent strong, driven and familiar male role models is a palpable loss that represents baggage that takes real getting used to. So in such a situation, you'll feel attraction to individuals outside the black race.

@henrymorgan34204 жыл бұрын
Stacy Robinson politics has everything to do with it. The government historically made it fiscally more viable for black women to have many kids and to be alone. It was deliberate (LBJ great society) and I would say it has been the most destructive thing that’s happened to black families in modern history. If republicans did it, it would be called racist every day and night on the news. In the 1960’s Patrick Moynihan of NY warned his party about the growing issues of the break down of the black families and that the single motherhood rate of blacks was exploding. The democrats did not give a shit and did nothing. At that time single black mothers exploded to nearly 25% and now it’s like 75%. Look at Hollywood and politics today, they praise single motherhood (a constituency) when the numbers prove you will struggle, be permanently poor or dependent on welfare which is the intent. Democrat party is the daddy. Also, they know through science that a married household is the best for children, but that’s not PC so that science is ignored. It’s part of the old democrat northern plantation model where Democrats targeted minorities for handouts in exchange for votes and all done by king racist LBJ. They did it to the Irish and other undesirable ethnicities all throughout the 1800’s and continue today which is why we have enclaves of permanently poor minority enclaves that live in a total socialist dependency. Free housing, free healthcare, free education in shitty substandard schools, welfare, food stamps, government low wage jobs, etc. etc. in high crime, drug riddled neighborhoods, but the problem is they don’t become independent or free individuals and stuck in permanent government subsistence. Sounds like a slave master to me. So to ignore the politics interwoven in this phenomenon is to ignore history and reality.

Have you ever noticed that it’s black people who talk about black love. You never hear white love, Hispanic love, Asian love etc. I’m not saying that other people don’t have dysfunction but a lot of black people take it to the extreme where it’s all about black love, black businesses, black families, black this black that. All you do is limit yourself because you’re thinking one dimensional and not inviting other ideas from other people in order to learn, grow and develop. If you are attracted to someone only outwardly that’s a major error you must look deeper within and check their CHARACTER. It’s the content of the cup (person) not their color. I grew up without a father and I am a very respectful person. I treat everyone with respect because I know that how I behave is a reflection on me and not the other person. So you dont need a father to teach you to be respectful because some fathers teach it and the kids still aren't. Also, my sisters and I were actually better off that our father left because he was so abusive his presence made me a very timid person and he would be@t my younger sister so much she literally had the shakes and couldn't learn so that we thought she had a learning disability.... until after he left. After he left we just flourished and my sister, who couldn't learn when he was present, is now a high school principal. So Sometimes the children are better off without some of these men.

The dynamics of Mother and Father wounds, whether that’s caused by repeated violence in the family, or neglect, rejection, abandonment leaves life long scars that impact future relationships. You insight into young black woman growing up absent of a father is huge predisposition to enter into marriage, as the woman would have no social modelling experience. I have observed that these black females over compensate in their personality by projecting more male energy, which produces more tension and struggles and conflicts opposed to a woman who is a secure functioning female, tend to clash less with a men.

Us kids basically raised ourselves. I was raised on food stamp and we had to move from house to house because my mom would get behind on the rent and we would get evicted. My mom couldn't even afford to take us to the dentist. I grew up sheltered in a small town where I knew nothing about other cultures. I am the minority in my own shades of people because I don't and never have had much in common with other blacks. Every black persons perception of being black is different. I have had whites in my life for as long as I could remember. At times, I was the one black kid in the class. Never had issues when I was the only black one. I get along better with whites than I ever had with blacks. All black women aren't the same. Some blacks come from different places than other blacks. I grew up with mixtures of different races. I have always seen white people. Most of the men I have dated were white. I agree with some of what you said, I disagree with some as well. I was sick of the posts with women (not race specific, white, brown, black) with 5 kids, no job acting like they were tens and not twos. Posting how they were looking for their prince/knight in shining armor. Talking bout they don't need a man but they need a man to make more then them. Posting revealing pics and duck face pics. Saying, "Don't waste my time, if you don't have a great job get lost and stop looking at my boobs". I was like, you ladies are insane if you think you're gonna attract a well adjusted man with junk like that. Anyway, then i saw a post with classy pictures, and a statement that read she was looking for a god fearing man. No inappropriate pics, no talk about what a man should do for her. Fast forward, now we are getting married and she just happened to be a beautiful black woman. I wasn't looking for just anyone, i was looking for a person who saw through all the BS of culture and wanted God first and then love. The rest is a bonus. A beautiful person inside and out. BTW, luckily both families don't give a rats a$& about skin color. And if they did, we would tell them to talk to God, because we aren't listening :)

As I got older and I dated all white women and they all cheated or left cause of the parents didnt approve or someone with more money. I'm from Georgia by the way. I noticed a pattern and started dating out my race I finally figured out it is all about home training. White people raise thier daughters to be princesses and everything is always done and handed to them..not saying all but majority and that explains why they leave or cheat when they dont have or get what they want..nothing is ever good enough. Black women as majority are raised helping raise their siblings and taking responsibilities of the house hold. To me that makes them more valuable. This isn't the 50s and people have to many options. My life has gotten better when I started dating black women and treat me like a king..my wife is black and she has two kids from two different men because they left her after she got pregnant..these kids are still young and call me daddy and when I lost my 100k job due to the covid situation she didnt leave me like the average white woman would do but instead loved me and had my back. She even told me that she dint care if I work or not as long as I dont lie or cheat. I did get another job finally but like I said it's all about home training.. dont ever be with a person that feels they are entitled...I encourage people to date outside their race simply because you learn new things and open yourself to new experiences..

You think Whites need or want that shit contaminating our culture too? Fuck no!
@roquey446 жыл бұрын
The problem? He addressed it somewhat in his video about not feeling oppressed. The system has killed the black family. The very thing he addresses here about black women should tell him that cultural oppression is alive and well and has been that way for a long time. That oppression not on effects black women, it somewhat emotionally handicaps the entire race. Some black women are angry. But why are they angry? Its because they are hurt. They have to jump through so many hoops when it comes to public's perception of beauty. That anger is their force field from the world. Marriage is tough. Throw in a society that has historically held you back from even the basics of life, and it gets tougher. Most of the girls Brandon meets at school are probably from good families with homes big enough for kids to have their own rooms, that private space. Most black families don't have that. Girls want to feel special by daddy. When the pressures of not being able to provide a home in the manner he would like gets too much to handle, some men crumble and hide their feelings in drugs and the bottle. Then comes staying out later than the wife wants. Then come the arguments. Then. possibly and sadly, comes the abuse. Now, this ain't just germane to the black home. It happens across all cultures. A lot of the "sistas" don't fee worthy because dad wasn't there or might have been there, but part of him was in a bottle or in some drug.

Not all can afford to travel the planet. So your statement tells me you've never traveled or your theory is total bullshit. People need to open their eyes and ears before their mouth if they want to become more thoughtful and intelligent. True wisdom means you know nothing. Start there first then move about the planet with eyes and ears open.

@jtalk91714 жыл бұрын
I personally think you just want to throw that in people face. You need money to travel. Some people don't have social connections to stuff if they're broke and some people do. It starts from home and having a real brain and understanding other lives exist in the world and everything isn't about you. You'd be suprised of what some people tell their kids. I mean our race is the one who's saying they grew up not loving their own skin or self and dissing the people they claim are privileged in person that they don't even know. So it starts from home.

Usually poor whites are welfare families and have been for generation. They generally don't and won't work. They don't usually go off to universities. The other whites generally stay away from them. It's two different worlds. Birds of a feather flock together.

Thank you Officer Tatum. I experienced some of the same realizations about myths (that I grew up thinking were facts), as you expressed. At my "Senior" age, it took enrolling in college classes to be exposed to a better, more educated way of thinking. I'm grateful for the education you provide. And like the song says "We all bleed the same". We share so many commonalities among us though we have different skin color. I love learning about different cultures. Again, thank you.

As a white man I never looked at this the way you put. Thank you for turning on the light, helping me understand your point of view. Your absolutely correct.

I completely agree. The reason I only dated white men as a black woman is because most of the black men who have pursued me do not have the ideal cultural background that I am looking for. I want a man who would be into family, faith, and business. I wanted someone who was reliable, responsible, and someone who could be a leader. I also wanted someone who would be monogamous and respectful of me. I hate all the drama and disrespect that comes from certain black men who just want to run around with every chick they see and be noncommittal, or the ones who have 5 baby mothers and do not take care of their kids. I am currently engaged to my guy(who is white) and we are over the moon to be getting married this fall. So again, it is not race, it is culture. :)

You're a true lady with uncommon sense. We all need to work hard to be our best selves, then choose mates who pull us up and don't drag us down. Race has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's about discipline, honor, and values.

Where I grew up, finding a black woman to date was next to impossible. I think I dated the two that were in my city. What wasn't covered here, was the dynamic I experienced when trying to date, "within my race", as a black man basically you embraced the stereotypes or you were considered weird and undatable. Race never mattered to me as long as I found whomever I dated attractive and they had ambition. I havs met and dated folks of most races and walks of life, one recurring theme was, there was always someone who thought, that my race would make me more tolerant of their "entitled poverty" ideology.

My mom was a hot mess. God rest her soul but she was not the lifestyle I had planned for my life. Her profession said if he had money he'd do. Not my idea of living a good life. I chose for myself what I wanted in a man. My grandmom, (mom's mom) said as long as they were part of the church she'd approve. Listen now, I know some church boys that did NOT listen to the preacher! LOL!! At the end of the day, it's your own happiness and the happiness of the person you chose to live your life with and how you'd live it to its best with them. All this color stuff doesn't make for qualifying a partner. If anything, it would only be an enrichment for both parties if they are of different races. I'm 50 years old and have never been on the race train. Seems to be a pathetic way to live your life if race keeps you from being your best self. I agree with you 100%.
