BlackRock top management is in China's pocket. As, new NYSE regulations (mostly federal) have made it hard for Chinese companies, this might be an attempt to get US investments to China true the back door. Texas is perfect for it. Much less regulation and hate for federal regulation. When feds drop stricter legislation, Texas can fight it in court for years before it comes into action.

As a Texan I am against this. Let New York be the haven for cocaine fueled above average iq stock brokers. We don’t have to make Texas the best at everything let New York focus on being the money capital. Fix New York by investing in infrastructure, people and processes. Don’t leave your home because you shit the bed and rather then clean it up you’re just going to go sleep in someone else’s bed. What’s black rock going to do? Move to Oklahoma after it turns Texas into a new New York? Why? Fucking stay and clean up the mess u made. Improve on the area. Let Texas be good at everything else. We don’t take kindly to carpet baggers who leave their mess to go make a mess somewhere else. Our sucidde rate is nice and low. No thank u stock traders. Go back to NYC.

I'm not giving you any specific advise, but I can tell you that it's not as difficult as most people believe. Why?
@user-wc4fz1jr8w5 ай бұрын
@chrisr326 In Citadel's own words: "The practice of payment for order flow creates serious conflicts of interest and should be banned. Internalization without meaningful price improvement reduces competition, limits price discovery, leads to market fragmentation, and should be banned." That was 20yrs ago. Today something like 50% of retail trades go through Citadel the market maker. They achieve their market share by paying brokers for orderflow. The data from Citadel the market maker feeds Citadel the hedgefund. Imagine playing online poker. I'm not surprised at all that Blackrock is moving in. I work for a civil Engineering firm, and the amount of land and utility infrastructure development we have been involved in for housing alone has been mind boggling. The town and surrounding area where I grew up has been rural for my entire 26 years of life, but within the last 3-4 years I would say 60% of the previously thousands of acres of unused/undeveloped land has been clear cut to make way for suburban housing. It's all being bought up by corporations and land developers I've never heard of before. Most of them are investments by single owner millionaires who are looking to make as much money as possible as cheaply as possible building tight lot developments. The land value in Texas is going through the roof, Not helped by the fact that there's less and less of it to go around thanks to Blackrock buying it all up. I'm not kidding when I say this has basically been overnight. People around here are getting knocks on their door every couple months from developers trying to buy their land. It's just a crapshow. No one who lives here can even afford any of the houses that are being built or even the land itself. These small cities and communities are historically majority population below poverty line. Yet the prices have skyrocketed. The house I grew up in has had an empty, undeveloped lot next to it my entire life. It's 2 acres, barely worth 40k, and that's being generous. It was purchased last year for a staggering 110k! An empty lot! No sanitary, no water, no electricity, barely 2 acres. The people moving here think they're getting a deal too. Thousands from Cali. Feels like every other day I'm meeting someone who moved here from Cali.
@Willsmiff19855 ай бұрын
I live in a LCOL area (southern Appalachia) and previously held the unenviable title of owning the nicest house in the neighborhood. Some Californians came and built a new construction for 33% more than my house’s est value for less sqft and I’d argue a much worse land plot…. They have so much money they don’t even care. They’ll buy shit for inflated prices bc… they were already buying worse shit for even more inflated prices in CA.

@cajonesalt01915 ай бұрын
@@Chasing-the-outdoors Been here since 2011. I'm less concerned about the roads than I am the fact that the oil corporations, which make up more than 80% of Texas' GDP, are literally the politicians in charge of the state. During the Blizzard in 2021, the natural gas suppliers got caught red-handed with-holding supply so they could make a profit off the increase demand. Mind you, this caused 246 deaths and caused billions of dollars in damage. Absolutely nothing happened to them. As the weather gets crazier and crazier here, I expect more of the same. They're already saying to expect brownouts in the Summer and telling people to not run their ACs, all while all any Texan seems to be able to do is say "Whatabout California?!" or "Whatabout New York?!". Anyone who thinks Texas is a mecca for anything besides engouring the old boy system has been tricked by paper-thin propaganda. None of that takes into account the insane politics. Texas GOP just released a new platform saying they want to compel teaching the bible in school. Mind you, if you teach something "woke" (by which they mean anything they perceive as anti-establishment) you can literally go to jail, but violating 1st amendment rights to freedom of speech and no establishment of religion? Not an issue for the Texas GOP. They want to build a Christian caliphate. So between that and the fact that living here means you are a slave to the oil barons, I am trying to move out as fast as I can. The only thing good about this place was that it was cheap. Operative word is "was". It's literally within 10% of California prices now, but with far worse wages. I guess I've got guns, but this is the one state where I feel like I might actually need them to defend myself against the government, considering I'm an atheist and don't think abortion should be punishable by death. As far as taxes, I already pay 80% of the taxes my family in California pays for 50% less value in assets, and that's just on my property tax. Their property and income tax combined is more than double my taxable assets, and yet I am paying nearly the same amount of money in taxes as they are a year. Make it make sense. That doesn't include the sales tax which is identical to California's. Anyone who thinks Texas has cheap taxes either doesn't own, or owns a business and is getting me to pay their taxes instead. Remember, when you subsidize the poor that's communism, when you subsidize the rich that's how it's supposed to be and you're a beta cuck for thinking otherwise. Can you tell that I really don't like this place?

And for the last two decades have had regular brown and blackouts, a drought that spawned a rain pray event, and an ironic new segment where the governor was meant to be interviewed, but we got a black screen because the internet got overloaded in Texas. They're going to build a stock exchange having no idea how much that's going to draw on the power grid and internet bandwidth, all because they don't like being told not to sabotage the US economy. There's a reason the two biggest are in NY; We literally feed a third of our power grid into JUST those two buildings, and reserve half of our physical communications structure to it. It's why our taxes are so high-- we're paying to keep the stock exchange open for the rest of the country.

@@DonC876 not the guy youre responding to but i just want to hop in and say that claiming a third of the NYC power grid is being used to power two buildings is the most ridiculous thing i've heard in awhile. Manhattan as a whole might take up somewhere around a third of our power grid but saying two buildings? If you really, truly cannot understand why without reference, you should probably look up a NYC energy consumption map. Skyscrapers in general use a lot of energy and Manhattan is chock full of them but, really? The guy couldnt come up with something more believable than just two buildings?

Good video and very informative. As someone who doesn't binge news shows all day I appreciate the in depth coverage of something important without all the political drama. One comment I would make is that I disagree with you about the impacts. While I know that in most places housing prices seem to just go up and up I don't think that will happen here. With very lite regulation and LOTS of available land new housing builds here happen quickly and constantly. This is much different than the coastal cities who are either land locked or NIMBY locked. We (I live in the DFW area) are already dealing with a massive influx of people and housing is being built constantly (in my single family neighborhood, we have had 3 multi-family apartment/townhome complexes start leasing in the past year). I'm more worried about our roads being under constant construction...

There are laws and enforcement mechanisms in NY and an understanding that the legal system may eventually detect and prosecute some fraud and white collar crime. As far as people perpetuating it fraud, well, it’s no surprise to anyone that it is a problem everywhere.

If NYSE is a farmers market, and Nasdaq is EBay, then the Texas stock exchange would be Amazon. Especially since it would be easier for shit companies to get in the door. I’m sure it’ll start off great, with nearly no issues, but as time goes by and and loopholes become taken advantage of, it’ll follow amazons lead in selling more stock shares but the majority being shit companies that won’t be held responsible. It doesn’t help that you mentioned Hp and Tesla, both companies notorious for ripping off customers, and stealing data for their own benefit.

Great video! My question is wouldn't this Texas stock market still be governed by the SEC, a federal commission overseen by the federal gov't (not the Texas state gov't)? I understand greedy entities like Blackrock & Citadel want to avoid being regulated and taxed while making the most money possible, but will this new exchange really allow them to skirt SEC regulation? I'm thinking this is more of a way to avoid state income taxes, of which there are none in Texas as opposed to New York state.

In my opinion the modern public corporation is an abject failure. The inability to plan for the long term as a consequence of trying to meet quarterly earnings and share price quotas has led to the degradation of many a product/company (see GE as an example). The creation of _billionaires_ or the 0.1% and all of the distortions that they cause to the financial and electoral systems worldwide, the vast majority of whom couldn't exist without their significant holdings of publically traded stock.
