Why Blizzard should untether Season of Discovery from Classic Era core [SoD]

On the one hand I don't want to say that I was immediately proven right. But on the other hand I also don't want to have not said it.
Blizzard decides to show everyone what some could see way back in phase 1, which is that the Classic Era core needs to be branched off from by Season of Discovery so those two elements don't run on the same code base. That way we could finally have the talent changes we would like to see.
