I love how people get mad at Bloxx but there are iced cream people, living tools, walking talking clocks, cables, etc. I'm just saying, there are some very crazy concepts in Ben 10, I don't get why everyone goes after Segmentasapiens specifically.

Valid, but none of those things you mentioned are actually branded objects, bloxx being the only alien that’s based on a specific brand of product and that’s why people didn’t like it, if it was based on other construction materials then people most likely won’t have a problem with it

@@christianvondruska8244 yea I agree, I do like bloxx, it’s a fun alien but at the same time it feels too kid friendly, people didn’t like omniverse at first because of that which is understandable due to the drastic tone and style shift, and bloxx was the embodiment of it, and unlike omniverse itself bloxx doesn’t have a lot of attributes that people came to like and respect as time goes on, and it just seems out of place amongst all the other aliens

I can't believe you made an entire video about Bloxx while also completely ignoring the fair amount of lore we actually know about his species "Segmentasapiens evolved to hide by blending in with the structures on Polyominus, so it is known that their architecture resembles modern Segmentasapiens" "During at least one point in its history, Polyominus was threatened by constant invasions, which led to the Segmentasapiens being forced to adapt to all types of warring conditions.[OV Brief 1] Polyominus boasts some of the most ancient architecture in the universe. Many beings in the galaxy consider it to be a ghost planet, for there has been no noticeable indigenous life found on Polyominus for millennia now. A secret that few off-worlders are ever made privy to however, is that all of the eerily abandoned, medieval-style walled cities on Polyominus are the planet's lifeforms: Segmentasapiens, who evolved this ability to hide in plain sight from invaders.[OV Brief 1]" "Being organosillicon-based life forms with segmented hardened quasi-organic polymer skin, Segmentasapien's bodies are made up of individual blocks that they can rearrange at will.[DJW 1]" All from the wiki

See I was working with a different hypothesis. The color like that would attract mates with the cost being that they can’t hide in the mountain. And Ben being peak human specimen that he is, would be having that colorful display on his Bloxx transformation. On the other hand, someone like Gwen would be having a more muted or “natural color” Bloxx to hide in the environment better. But that’s just me.

Well, the Omnitrix always transforms you into the peak of a chosen Species, so Gwen would have the same coloration if a segmentasapiens' coloration isn't explicitly sexual Dimorphism. For example, Gwen would be a stronger Four-Arms than Ben at the same Age would be DUE to the Sexual Dimorphism of the Transformations Species

I have a headcanon that one time in the Ben 10 universe, a Segmentasapien escaped from the same prison where the DNA donor of Chamalien was locked up, and before it got recaptured, the creator of Lego in the Ben 10 universe saw him. I agree with a lot of the points you made here! The way I imagine them to function, and in their native environment, is quite a bit different though. My headcanon says that they come from a planet with drastically different terrain, where most of the planet's surface are either mountainous, or sheer canyons. This would create high winds and atmospheric pockets of dense and violent weather. To adapt, Bloxx's species have interlocking, but closed internal systems within their anatomical frame. That way if they suffer a bad fall, they can just replace the components they lost with new ones they grow. As far as colors go, I think it would be cool if their environment was based off of the rainbow mountains in Asia, or the various layers of colored clay deposits in badlands.

There's one thing about the 'lungs' of Bloxx... There might be none. Having a nose and mouth doesn't say you have lungs. Sharks have a mouth and a nose (one of the best in the animal kingdom in fact) but no lungs- they breathe through their gills. And a different example is Whales, they have no nose but lungs. My theory is that Bloxx breathes through the black 'cracks' on his body in a way similar to Insects.

I see 2 possible reasons for the colours. 1) it's a alien world that we haven't seen so it's natural colours could be different from earths natural colours. 2) similar to zebras whose black and white stripes make a herd look like a large creature. Bloxx's people could do the same to there predators having there similar body shapes and miss mass of colours could confuse certain Predator species making them think that the bloxx are a much larger creature than they actually are.

For Segmentsapiens not blending in with their enviroments there could be a few reasons for that. Like their home enviroment being more vibrant than earth mounts and Jungles. Or that they don't have many threats and don't need to worry about blending in. I remember reading on the wiki that there is actually some lore for Segmentasapiens. Apparently their homeworld was being constantly invaded and they had to adapt to look like buildings and walls to survive. That said, this never came up in the show. It might be legitimate lore from people behind Omniverse or it might be something a fan made up that nobody ever double checked. I know that happened at least 2 other times on the Ben 10 wiki, with Whampire's homeworld and Cooper's middle name. Now as for why Bloxx looks like a lego gorilla, Ben's Bloxx may just take on a form that makes intuitive sense to Ben. They're a race of shapeshifters afterall, there's no reason we know of they have to be gorilla shaped. This headcanon also extends to Goop and to a lesser extent Upgrade. As for the color scheme, we do know that not all segmentasapiens take on the same primary color mishmash Bloxx has. Ben 23's Bloxx is made entirely of various shades of blue. Granted, aliens from other timelines do tend to have some shades and colors that aren't present in the prime timeline so this may just be a Dimension 23 thing.

We don't know what Bloxx's homeworld looks like. Just because Earth is brown and green doesn't mean every planet looks like that. I personally like to imagine Bloxx's world is made of Legos, with Lego trees and Lego water, like in the Lego movie. It's all plastic, inhabited by animals that are plastic and eat plastic. And it's all bright primary colors. So Bloxx's colors may be for camouflage. Upgrade sticks like a sore thumb on our planet, but on his he would blend into the surroundings.

Honestly with the Reboot I had a crackpot theory that Bloxx as a creature isn't a singular being but instead a collective swarm of artificial creatures. Think an OG version of Surge, though I really enjoy your idea around Bloxx origins. As for the Ben 10k I think the answer for me is the fusions of the Biomnitrix, it feels like a more fun concept and allows Ben 10k to basically go into any battle with a completely new alien. I don't hate the UAF Ben 10k but I feel the fact the show was less detailed hurt him since it feels like he should have slight parts of his body morph into his aliens similar to how he changes for Ultimate Humungosaur.

I love how bloxx haters use literally the same arguments some haters of the newer pokemon gens would use: "it's just _" Like c'mon, Goop is just a slime and Diamondhead a rock golem and no one has a problem with those for being unoriginal

I've seen some people theorize that segmentasapiens have some connection to the Naljian Destructor. Perhaps some similar technology ended up multiplying and evolving on a barren planet and eventually gained sapience? Maybe this also explains why Polyominus was so frequently invaded, as many species coveted the advanced lost technology of the planet?

Bloxx has displeased me quite a bit to my memory. Though I supoose I've warmed up to him slightly over the years. The artist MisakaLovesYou made my favorite fan redesign of Bloxx that made him look a bit mor stone like with carapace like connecting points. It might be why I prefere to think they are a naturally evolved species bizzare as they are to be. A bunch of these roaming living fortresses that can build societies out of their own people. They could've played around with the idea a lot more for certain though I understand why fans were might bot have had the patience

Honestly, I’m indifferent towards Bloxx. I neither hate nor love the design or powers. However, it lands a net negative for me because of how durable he appears. A lot of times, his blocky body gets torn through easily whether it’s a punch or a falling object. While actual LEGO blocks are plastic, I’d expect Bloxx to be pretty durable. I mean, have you see a stack of LEGO bricks go against a hydraulic press? It doesn’t survive, but it did a pretty good job.

Maybe the primary colors on Bloxx could've been used to the design's advantage, by having him be able to change his color and texture to mimic inanimate structures, with the primary colors being a default that could be mixed to create any color value.

In Artifexian's video about alien atmospheres, one of his example worlds (Clorox, a world with a chlorinated atmosphere) features plastic trees, and he talks about how this could come about and what ramifications it would have. My personal headcanon has always been that Bloxx is essentially just a 'plant'-based being from a world with a similar atmosphere and history to planet Clorox. It would handily explain his stretchiness and rapid regeration (a staple of plant beings in Ben 10), _and_ why he'd be made of plastic. To be honest, I think Bloxx fits the series regardless, without any justifications, since stranger things do exist in the Ben 10 universe (whether or not some people want to admit it). But this, as well as your explanation, are both very compelling reasons.

Never watched Ben 10 but I just want to share my thoughts after this video. I think you are right about his color, but considering his ability to change his form I guess his kind adopted this colour scheme from other poisonous creature, that they imitate using their shape shifting. Also it can actually be just a gimmick that they possessed after long time of their effective live. As I know Bens omnitrix have DNA of the greatest creatures in the universe, so what if their shape shifting ability made them one of the most successful creatures on their planet, so they doesn't get hunted so much. Like, if I saw a giant gorilla, that can turn into even bigger gorilla I would just let it mind his own business and have whatever color it have. Or its natural habitat is that colourful. We have many colourful places on earth, so why there couldn't be on other planets?

I never hated Bloxx that much, but I must ask: what's the point of making a Lego alien to sell toys if none of the toys play with that aspect of him? The only Bloxx toy I found that tried to address this was a weirdly proportioned one that can only turn into poor excuses for walls and towers. It's like CN demanded the creation of this guy without telling not only the writers, but also the toy designers, who could never translate his powers well into figure form.

It's funny, I saw a couple of videos on unnatural history channel about a carbon-based life form digesting unorganic material as part of their diet (monster hunter stuff). It makes sense that a silicon-based ape could eat other silicon-based things and incorporate them to their mass, not only that, the color display and the shape of their bodies might relate to the overal status and health of the individual, the sharper the shapes of the body and more intricate the segmentation of color among body parts perhaps means they are a more desirable mate.
