@@izzmedudee3054 You realize that as Chief Engineer, Elon just makes final decisions that are advised to him by the actual engineers. He's not actually innovating with the real engineers. Elon didn't even know where to start in order to build a rocket. He went to Russia to attempt to buy ICBM's. Russia turned him away. Afterwards Elon was introduced to Tom Mueller, the real genius by the Falcon. Elon financed, and Muller innovated. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Mueller "In late 2001, Mueller began developing a liquid-fueled rocket engine in his garage and later moved his project to a friend's warehouse in 2002.[2] His design was the largest amateur liquid-fuel rocket engine, weighing 80 lb (36 kg) and producing 13,000 lbf (58 kN) of thrust.[2] His work caught the attention of Elon Musk, PayPal co-founder and CEO of Tesla Inc., and in 2002 Mueller joined Musk as a founding employee of SpaceX.[3] As Vice President of Propulsion Engineering and subsequently CTO of Propulsion at SpaceX, Mueller led the team that developed the Merlin 1A and Kestrel engines for the Falcon 1, the first liquid fueled orbital rocket launched by a private company; the Merlin 1C, Merlin 1D and MVac engines for the early iterations of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle; as well as the Draco thrusters that provide the attitude control thrusters for the Dragon spacecraft, as well as the SuperDraco storable-propellant engines used to power the capsule launch escape system." - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Seriously, Elon is a salesman. A great one. And he's amazing at putting teams together and managing them. @Julio Von Chillio This is a fine aspiration, Julio. I share it. HOWEVER, Musk isn't motivated through altruistic humanitarianism. He's an entrepreneur and he wants to be rich. To fund any sort of Mars exploration/colonization scheme, he has to sell a lot of Teslas along with all of the other things he is hawking. None of them, including Tesla is a runaway success, yet. But, even if they are it is unfeasible to philanthropically support space colonization. The figures just don't add up. It is more likely that Musk is using this pie in the sky narrative to persuade his worshippers to buy more Teslas. Unlike Musk, Bezos has many well-established businesses and the personal wealth needed to sustain a developmental space exploration program. Incremental steps and tortoise-like focus is more likely to achieve results, when it comes to space exploration. Not hero-worship, hype, and Musk's cynical public relations efforts.

Stability on a suborbital rocket is easy you have as much time and fuel as you want to bring it straight on the pad compared to orbital which you have to optimize every drop of fuel and every piece of rocket. Let's see what they'll do with new glen. I hope It won't be useless when starship comes out. Starship may even compete with electron It's gonna be hard for others😬 even for their own falcon 9😂

@@morteza1024 How would it compete with electron? I mean, Electron would probably be a bit cheaper, but you can barely take anything into orbit with it. like, the dollar per kilogram won't get ANY better than with Starship. I doubt there will ever be a system which can compete with that tbh

To be fair, what Bezos envisions is far beyond what could wver be achieved in his lifetime. Stations as he describes are economically impossible without first massive industrialization of space. For that we need rockets that can be produced rapidly, affordably, and be reused a LOT. We will need to mine the moon and eventually the asteroid belt for materials and water. We'll need to build numerous stations and craft in space that will allow for significant workforces to live and work long term in those environments. Colonizing Mars is actually far more straightforward than colonizing space. Both are theoretically possible, but the advancements needed for space colonization are as massive as the potential benefits of such. I'm sure Bezos would love to visit a small space colony or Mars colony before he dies, but his long term vision is beyond what he can live to see and he knows that.

Love everything about this video! At 2:59 that's awesome that you put in Crew-1 with the NASA themed Model X's. Musk easter egg: The license plates read "L8RERTH" meaning "Later Earth." Also, Blue Origin received the $500 million dollar contract back in 2018 and it was supposed to last 6 years. Then of course like you said, SpaceX and ULA won National Security contracts for the Air Force, which lead to the termination of the contract (Air Force was satisfied with 2 companies providing service). Although despite the loss of the National Security sector, wouldn't you say it's not a bad thing as Blue Origin can still fund the development of New Glenn and New Shepard for the soon to come commercial space era we are entering? Both Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic will be a great story come 2030, 2040, and beyond....cheers to the world of innovation! Thank you for great coverage☄️

@@alexissercho Ahhh...that's the ready answer from people who have no answer. The problem with people like you is that you never bother to learn the fundamentals of the things you readily accept. In this case, I refer to business and investing. There is a reason why the most successful investor of all time - Warren Buffett never invested in most high-tech and the early Internet. Like Musk's ventures, they are experimental and have no developed market. Space exploration is a dream and will remain so for a very long time. The type of space tourism and orbital colonization that Branson and Bezos are pursuing is more attainable and more immediately profitable. You see...its one thing for you to worship Elon Musk, but its another thing for him to make enough money from his businesses to support his dreams of space. His stock valuation is based on hype. None of his businesses have been sustainably profitable over the long term. Both Branson and Bezos don't have this problem. NOW...whose stock would you buy?

@@alexissercho Nice try, sonny. But, you again demonstrate no knowledge of the real issue. Namely, that of being profitable and making money. Can't buy talent? Do you think that the people who work for Branson, Bezos, and Musk work for free? Do you think that any of them have to pay less for their talent? Do you think that any of them buy untalented people and develop them? Also, do you think that they don't all buy up other companies to fill the holes in their organizations?? (I suggest you do a Google search to find the companies that all of them have bought.) You need to stop looking for someone to worship and study the hard facts of business, my friend.

Who's here after SpaceX's successful Starship SN8 test flight? For the doubters: that test was considered successful because SpaceX only needed to collect as much flight data as possible, they didn't care if SN8 had a rapid unscheduled disassembly, which is also why SN9 and 10 are standing by.

They're going from a testing platform with New Shephard to New Glenn which sits between Falcon Heavy and Starship. And they are doing that without doing what Space X did by creating falcon 9 and attaching 2 more falcon 9s to create the Falcon Heavy. If Blue Origin wanted im sure they could have attached 3 BE-4 engines to a fuel tank and called it New Glenn, then create some boosters to create New Glenn Heavy, but they skipped all of that and went directly to creating a single stage 1 booster

I have looked at a lot of videos about colonizing the moon & Mars. And I haven't found any with my same ideas. I think we should set up a moon colony on earth. We should have inflatable domes, which we cover with 3D printers with simulated moon mortar. The domes should be connected to each other by inflatable tunnels covered with simulated moon mortar. There should be living quarters, hydroponic green houses, gardens with garden soil for recreational gardening, a 5 acre pasture with one inch of garden soil and one inch of grass turf, a park with artificial turf and with small sections of real grass turf, and maybe even a very small zoo. All the domes will have plastic floors so no water is lost. Condensation forming on the ceilings will be drained into the water supply. All the domes will be blown up with compressed air from earth and will have a refresh system, which will refresh the air and maintain the air pressure. Humidity, Temperature will be maintained by humidifiers, heaters, fans and coolers. Light will be provided by multi-color LEDs, mostly white. Power will be supplied at first by solar power, and later by nuclear or fusion power. All water will be re-cycled, almost zero loss of water. There will be a bull, a cow, two sheep, and two goats, two chickens, two turkeys, two fish, and two rabbits. There will also be pets, two dogs, two cats, two bunnies, etc. (and maybe a small zoo) All of this will be set up by astronauts and robots before the colonist arrive. The first colonist will be 5 fathers and 5 mothers, and 90 babies. The parents will be good parents, gardeners, farmers, zoo keepers, teachers, etc.. During the first two years an exact duplicate facility will be built on the moon. When the babies are two years old, they will move to the moon and live on the moon. Or if it is proven that they will be too young to travel to the moon than the facility on earth will be added to, to accommodate 10 more parents and 90 more babies. The two year olds would move into the new addition. Every two years the facility will be either added to, or 100 people will move to the moon. This plan will allow the kids to grow up in the isolation of the colony, and will make it easier for them to live in the isolation of the colony on the moon. And will allow them to grow up on the moon and be better able to adjust to the lower gravity on the moon, although some artificial gravity maybe eventually provided. This artificial gravity will especially be good for the parents. The kids will have everything in the facility to keep them occupied and entertained. Also they could have some books, movies, games, etc., especially adapted for them, being careful not to give them anything that would make them feel isolated. After 20 years there could be 2000 people living on the moon, most of whom grew up on the moon. This program could be speeded up so in 20 years there could be 4000, 6000, or 8000 people living on the moon. This program could be simultaneously done to colonize Mars so we could have 2000 people on the Moon and Mars at the same time. For the moon we could send supplies every month, but for Mars we could only send supplies every 26 months. So I suggest we send 10, 20, or 30 rockets to Mars every 26 months all at the same time. We could have several refueling stations along the way to mars and orbiting mars so rockets could refuel along the way to mars and right before landing on mars so the empty rocket would have enough fuel to take off again, refuel in space and return to Earth. Eventually the colonist could grow trees, bamboo, and other plants for raw materials that could be used for making things. Eventually the moon and Mars could export minerals or small expensive items that were assembled on the moon or Mars, like jewelry, iphones, iwatches, etc. Or grown on the moon like caviar, marijuana, etc. What do you think ? :-)

Being thoughtful and careful is prudent. The obvious problem with Blue Origin is that being thoughtful and careful merely for the sake of being thoughtful and careful is silly. These guys have spent 20yrs in the space rocket business...having breached the Karman Line is sorta kinda important in the space business. The physical and mathematical properties become different on the other side of that Line - and are needed to be, you know, thoughtful and careful about things going forward.
